The Chop House at The Equinox Resort
Beautiful food in a beautiful dining room with charming fireplace and peaceful piano music. We each had the sumptuous rich lobster bisque, and shared the filet mignon chop cut and the lobster macaroni and cheese. It was all to die for, and the service from Mary Beth was exceptional. She was the best!
We had a fabulous experience. The food was outstanding. The service by far exceeding our expectations. Raymond was amazing!!
My husband and I spent the weekend at the Equinox. Loved the stay at the resort and hands down the Chop House was terrific. The BEST steak we have ever had. The strip steak was cooked to perfection service was romantic and classy. Wait staff was knowledgeable and prompt.
Great food. Small dining room with only a few tables so servers are very attentive. Prices are high but it is fine dining and a steakhouse that is in an area where there are limited options.
Lazy staff, crappy chef, late to seat us on NYE. Do yourself a favor, don’t eat here.
The food is overpriced by at least 25%. Make sure to ask for a seat in the front room. The back room is better for groups.
This restaurant was awesome. The food absolutely delicious. Billy was our waiter and he did an outstanding job. We went there on Xmas Eve and it was great dining experience. It is expensive but well worth it.
This is the more upscale restaurant at the Equinox. The food and service were excellent but it was very expensive even for steak. We all enjoyed our food very much and we had a nice time. Our waiter was great. Overall a good experience with some sticker shock at the end.
Raymond was our server. He was great! I had the tuna tartare as an appetizer. It was delicious. For dinner I had the lamb chops with roasted brussel sprouts. Both were delicious. We would definitely be back!
Not worth the price. Nothing special.
Could not get a 7:30 reservation but when we got there at 7:45 for our 8:00 reservation there was a large party in a private room but no one else in the dining room. They were out of the wine we wanted so the server suggested a bottle that was almost twice the price of the one we wanted. Food was fair, service was adequate.
Dinner was great,
Steak, scallops, shrimp dinners were all great!
Desert and cheese board were also very good
Our server Billy was a constant professional and was very helpful with suggestions.
Alway a favorite when in Manchester
Disorganized at the hostess area for three consecutive groups with reservations (2 through the hotel concierge & 1 - our party - that booked through open table).
Service was EXCELLENT 5 stars for sure. Mary Beth was an exceptional server.
All four members of our party ordered steak, 1 was cooked wonderfully (this was split between 2 party members), 1 was cooked under & the last order of NY strip was of very poor quality. It was chewy, sinewy, & only a third was able to be consumed. The cut of meat was advertised as prime cut & it was not of prime quality.
We've been here a few times & it's always excellent. I really can't say "outstanding" as I reserve that for the finest restaurants we've been to. As a local rest. & especially a hotel restaurant, it holds it's own & surpasses most places in the greater Manchester area. The Arlington Inn is the only true rival we've seen in the area. We started with the BLT Wedge salad(me) & it was excellent. Lots of creamy bleu cheese & bits of bacon. The Iceberg lettuce was plenty fresh & nice & crisp. Richard had the heirloom tomato salad, which while flavorful was rather small. I gave him some of my salad which was a huge portion(just the way I expect from a true Wedge salad) For mains we both had the Filet Mignons. Richard did the petit(8oz) I did the Chophouse cut(12oz)being the more gluttonous of the 2 of us. I had Béarnaise & Richard had the Pepper Corn sauce(which had quite a kick) Both Filets came out perfect med. rare. For sides we did the Cauliflower Au Gratin & whipped potatoes. A little of our sauces went into those potatoes & it was excellent. The only downside was the dessert. Now with Richard being a pastry chef, I always go by his choice. We ordered the Hazel nut chocolate dessert(I can't find it on their web site, as it was a special) It was chocolaty, but had virtually no hazel nut flavor, outside of a tiny hint. I should have sent him to the kitchen to train the staff on desserts!. Outside of that the meal was great & the ambience excellent.
Superb service. Food was excellent but pricy. A key note was that our entire party made note of how the room noise was perfect for an enjoyable party of 4.
Amazing experience- got better post renovation!!
Our evening and meal were excellent. Our server, Raymond, did a very good job of making it a great experience . Excellent recommendations and timing. Food was well prepared and presented. Overall, a enjoyable evening in an exceptional setting.
Service was slow. Mushrooms cold. Salmon really good. Filet barely seasoned, plain. Too expensive for quality.
Wife and I stayed at Equinox for her birthday. We hung out at the Falcon bar and had a few drinks waiting for our 830 reservation. Got seated at 815. Hostess and waitress were amazing and very polite. Kitchen staff cooked our food (medium steak) perfect, however it took 2+ hours to dine (app, meal dessert). There was only 3 other tables dining at the time.
Out for a special dinner with my family & it started off great until a foursome was seated next to us & were so loud throughout our meal that we were comped our desserts...without asking... Quite pricey for what you get...
The food/drinks took a while to come out (granted it was a Friday night), but we were not disappointment when it did! Portions are perfect for sharing and the steak was cooked perfectly!
Service was very slow. One meal had to be returned twice being overcooked the first time and hardly cooked at all the second. manager apologized but not quite enough.....
Raymond was a superb server! Food was outstanding! Caesar salad was one of the best I have ever had. Steaks done perfectly and were delicious. Highly recommend!
Loved the Chop House and would definitely go back for a nice dinner!
Excellent service and nice atmosphere! But as a steak House I would highly recommend that the chef uses the Gas BBQ that is stored in your back patio!
All three of our steaks looked and tasted boiled not broiled! We love the hotel but would not recommend the Chop House until a proper steak is prepared.
Thank you Master Sous Chef Sean Weiss for your warm attention to our daughter's food allergies and fantastic meals at your Marsh Tavern and Chop House.
We had a excellent dining experience food and a very helpful staff.
The only concern if your seated near a large party celebrating an occasion it can be very disturbing plus loud .
The dining room manager wasn’t very helpful after several tables complained to her about how very loud the party became.
We made the reservation with the mind set of having a quiet dinning experience.
Our dinner was amazing. Excellent food and service. The filet mignon was perfect. We especially liked the chef’s tasting spoon which was spicy tuna. The only drawback was a very large party seated next to us that was extremely loud. They were pretty much yelling to one another at the table. This is due in part to the party having young children in the group. I feel the group should’ve been seated in the main tavern as the ambience in the chophouse should be somewhat subdued.
My husband and I went to the chop house for my birthday dinner. We have been to the equinox in the past and always thought of it as a classy resort. When entering the chop house we went through the Tavern which was full of young families and crying babies. For an hour, we had to listen to a screaming infant while we tried to enjoy our wine and food. There was another family next to us in under armor clothes and obnoxiously playing on iPads. It seems the resort has turned into a kids clubhouse instead of an upscale place to have a cocktail and good meal. Our server was very progression but the ambient was extremely disappointing. I am a mother of four children and would never allow my children to scream, cry or play on loud iPads! We will never go back there!!!
This is kind of an odd place. You walk through a doorway from one restaurant into the Chophouse. The service was great, and I understand they are serving a more exclusive clientele, but WAY overpriced. There were two of us and we each had 1 glass of wine, salad, and filet mignon- asked for medium ans was very rare, split a mashed potato, and split a desert with dinner and tip it was $220. That is the most I have ever paid for a meal that lacked any interesting presentation. Service was great but charging that much was a bit much. It wasn't like there was an amazing view or anything that you could say was part of the overpriced meal.
Too noisy the night we were there. Service was excellent and the food was very good.
