The Chop Tank - Situated within The Royal Oak, Old Town, a superb addition to our venue. Starting from an Oyster bar we have extended our menu in to offering delicious Pub Classics..

At The Chop Tank you can enjoy an evening of relaxed dining and have access our full drinks menu from The Royal Oak. If you are a keen wine drinker our knowledgeable staff will be more than happy to introduce you to our Food and Wine matching menu for an ultimate experience, offering carefully selected wines from all over the world and closer to home.

The Chop Tank is currently open TUESDAY – SATURDAY for evening dining. Wednesday Night Is Stone baked Pizza Menu (all 12'' Pizzas £10) and SUNDAYS 12.30-5pm for out fantastic Royal Oak Roast.

Good food, drinks and service but we were the only table there on a Saturday evening at 7:30 in the evening which was a bit weird, especially as the separate bar part of the restaurant was very lively

We had a great Sunday lunch; lots of lovely vegetables and well made roasted potatoes. The service was great; lovely ambient atmosphere.

A few issues arose with our evening however the gentleman serving us was good at putting this right and offered us a free glass of wine for the inconvenience caused. My reasons for not scoring higher where :- - No Oysters, which was a main reason for coming but better business sense to sell out that have old Otysters - Mains didn’t come out together to the point where we sent my wives back due to the wait between them - Rib-eye steak wasn’t great for the ticket price, perhaps it wasn’t rested due to the issue with the mains or too thinly cut but I wouldn’t order this main again, The rest of the food was tasty and well presented and my request for a bottle of fizz on the table had been done on arrival. The waiter was great at resolving the issue with the mains and was very polite about it all,
