We were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! We ordered the duck and the fish and were both blown away by both the quality of the food and the preparation. We will definitely be back!
A very fine small charming Byob. Quiet. Interesting menu , Fish seems to predominate, fish soup not to be missed.
Best restaurant on the Main Line and possibly the best restaurant in all of Philadelphia. Great, creative chef and wonderful friendly service.
Love this place- great atmosphere, service and eclectic menu. There is something for everyone on the menu - flavors are incredible.
Extensive menu. We both totally enjoyed food, service and ambience.
A nice, quiet BYO for special occasions.
Excellent food and service….
our new favorite restaurant. the food was amazing and the service was outstanding.
First visit - we'll be back. Menu is deep enough to please most, despite the small size of the restaurant. Presentation is elegant, and the quality of the food is quite fine. Everything was exactly as the menu described it, and all 4 of us enjoyed every bite. Our friends started with soft shell crabs, while my wife and I chose the beet root carpaccio and the snapper ceviche - all were very satisfying. Our friends each chose one of the bass options, Chilean for him and striped for her. My wife had the second prep of the striped bass, and all fish were found pleasing and ample in size. I tried the New Zealand lamb chops, which were beautiful although quite small and a bit less tender than I'd hoped. In fairness, they were very reasonably priced and there were 3 on the plate.....and I did eat everything but the bone! We each had a sorbet for dessert. I don't know who supplies it, but it was rish, cremy and delicious. So as I said, we'll be back.
The dining experience is always exceptional, the food delicious and the family-owned nature of this eatery makes all the difference.
Excellent restaurant. This was our second time there and it was just as great as the first time. Excellent service and the food is out of this world! Would highly recommend it!
Mothers Day! Every mom got a rose when they left. The food, as always, was excellent and elegant. The owner’s son and God Son, both who looked about 14-15 years old were helping to wait tables. Why? Because normal help are making more on Biden’s unemployment and would rather stay home than go back to work. But this didn’t deter the owners of this small restaurant to provide top notch, high end cuisine in a warm and professional setting. Kudos to THE CHOICE! I applaud you! You made my Mother’s Day so special!!!
Really nice spot: kind and attentive service and thoughtful food. Some dishes were absolute knockouts (duck canton, soft shell crab, sea bass with truffle sauce—WOW) while others were only fine (stewed leeks, bass with potato). However, overall a delightful experience.
Great food, the lamb chops turned out to be the biggest winner in our table. 👍
A work colleague and I had an early (5:30 pm) dinner at The Choice earlier this week. Very limited seating outdoors - 2 tables along Route 30, Lancaster Avenue, so we elected to eat inside as no one was there at this time. The Choice is very nice inside with plenty of room between the tables. The salads we had were excellent and the entrees were also very good. The service at The Choice was prompt and quick. Overall, we had an enjoyable meal and the BYOB aspect definitely made it even better.
Excellent food! Will be back!
Great experience as always. Wonderful prep of food and taste development. Always a enjoyable experience
10 Star, my favorite go to for special occasions or for a Friday night after a long week.
Amazing food and a great menu. The service was excellent. Lots of space between tables. Will definitely be back soon. Love the Tuna tartar salad. Snapper with mushrooms was amazing as well. Even the desserts were great. The waitress was very nice and really knew how to provide great service without disrupting a meal.
It was our first visit and we were very impressed with all aspects of dining. The ambience was modern and cozy. The service was very nice, efficient and attentive. The taste of the food was AMAZING ( we ordered Burrata and Beet Carpaccio for appetizers (and received a little introductory compliment from the kitchen which was VERY YUMMY! thank you so much!), Duck and Chilean Seabass with miso sauce and Apple Pie for dessert. Every dish was VERY tasty and had their own unique flavor. Dishes were big in portion size and beautifully presented. Our waitress Irina had nice and warm attitude and was very helpful in recommending good match of sides to the dishes. Price wise it's very adequate to the quality of the food and service. And saving on the BYOB option is also helpful : ). The whole experience was very impressive.
We were visiting the area and unfortunately can't enjoy this place as often as we'd like to, but every time we come back we'll definitely be here for sure and recommend everyone to visit this wonderful place. Thank you so much for a wonderful dinner!
This is a great spot. The food is good and creative. The service was great. I would highly recommend!
Wonderful food as usual!
There is no better BYOBin the Western Suburbs. The fish entres are superb
Best restaurant I’ve been thus far this year hands down... and I am a chef
Fantastic food. Great place for a date or special occasion. Will be back!
Food was amazing.
Server was very helpful and kind.
Real interesting menu, influences from all over the world. Great BYOB
This is a Main Line gem. Food, ambience, everything is excellent!
Great time. Small, quaint, quiet, dimly-lit, and romantic. Small fancy portions, great plating & presentation!
Food was amazing, highly recommend the scallop appetizer! Will definitely be back.
The food was exquisite . The staffing was accommodating and personable . The establishment was very clean with an intimate setting .
I wanted to love this place, I thought it was good, but I don’t need to rush back.
This place is terrific! Delicious, interesting flavors , felt very safe and socially distant and clean.
Food is another level! Great!
Fabulous food and service.
Looking for a local BYOB we had not yet tried, I found The Choice on-line. It is conveniently located right on Lancaster Avenue with street parking available. As there was considerable snow on the ground when we dined in January, it was great that we were able to find a space right across the street from the restaurant. The dining room décor and atmosphere is tastefully subdued. It gives a warm and relaxed feel, except when people entering or exiting did not completely close the sliding door, which allowed a chill breeze to flow through. Our party of three all found personal favorites on the menu. For appetizers, my wife started out with the Seared Octopus, shiitake mushrooms, asparagus, Brussels sprouts with soy-garlic sauce. Our friend had Scallops wrapped in filo dough, deep fried, served with creamy wasabi sauce, and I had the Seafood Soup. All were delicious. Entrees consisted of the Chilean seabass filet marinated in miso sauce, the Filet Mignon, and the Pan-seared duck breast, served on a bed of mushrooms and asparagus with plum teriyaki and Yuzu truffle sauce on the side. The Seabass and the Duck were both mouth-watering. Unfortunately, the Filet Mignon was so tough, our friend could barely slice it. She returned it to the waitress, who apologized profusely, and replaced it with an order of the Chilean Seabass, which she loved. For dessert we enjoyed the Warm apple pie served with vanilla ice cream. Despite the issue with the steak, overall we liked the restaurant and will definitely return to try it again.
Always outstanding. A rare find and somewhere to add to your regular dining plans.
This was the first time we have been to Tbe Choice but we will definitely be going back. The food was excellent and the staff were very good.
The Choice is a wonderful restaurant. The staff is very accommodating and very careful with keeping a clean, well spaced out, safe place to eat! The food is creative and delicious!!
Consistently the best food and service available anywhere in the Ardmore to Wayne area. The food is always perfectly prepared and presented - always fresh. And the service is always outstanding - warm, friendly and efficient.
We are so happy to have finally found The Choice. The food and the service were both wonderful. We will be returning soon. I hope more people continue to support small, local restaurants like this, they deserve it.
