The Choice - B.Y.O.B
Dined w my husband and another couple on a Thursday evening. It took a little while for a server to come and take our order- but once she did the service was fine. The appetizers and entrees were delicious. The creme brulee was disappointing. There was a really thick crust of crystallized sugar on the top- didn't taste carmelized- more like melted and hardened pure sugar- which overpowered the thin layer of custard beneath. We will definitely eat here again- but likely will skip the dessert the next time.
The food at The Choice is superb, the quality the food is excellent, the presentation exquisite. It is nice to enjoy dinner where it is obvious that the chef has taken the job of preparing a meal seriously.
the food is great. there is a nice variety on the menu with several different fish options. all our dishes were prepared very well. and it is byob!
The menu looks fantastic, but the execution is poor. For the price, the food should be much better. It was rather mediocre. Not BAD, just OK. There are too many other choices where the food is better for similar or less money.
We were the first to be seated for our 8:15 reservation and the last to be served . My salad came out with raw unsafe meat I ordered it medium . The lamb chops were delicious but a few for the cost of my meal . I thought the entire menu was over priced for what it is . The staff are not very good and the didn’t have enough staff. The staff that have been there serve a Brest in the area . The other people just need to n more patient with you all m I
The ambiance was not great at all. The food was super, but for those prices, I expect to feel a little spoiled. No linen tablecloths and the seating was so basic. I really felt that owners could have used that space to create something cozier and more special.
Great authentic European cuisine style. A bit pricey with a small portion . Overall, delighted experience!!
Food was absolutely incredible. The variety and the preparation were both five star. The service, setting everything was perfect. I can't wait to head back!
except for two meals that were not served hot and when the meals came back from the kitchen, still not hot, the dinners were very good.
I would like to suggest to the owners that they publish, on the internet or on the menus, if you attend an early sitting, the odds of being asked to leave by 8:30, for the next sitting, is highly probable.
We were just about done, and yes, my guests were a little slow in ordering.
Very creative dishes
Consistently very good quality
Very attentive service
Chef owner very pleasant.
Over all - one of the best restaurants on Mainline !!!
I was very disappointed! I ordered a salad with dressing on the side but it came with dressing on the salad. The salad dressing was extremely salty! I ordered the halibut with mushrooms and a sauce. The mushrooms were and sauce were cold. The halibut was lukewarm and overcooked. Not one server asked us at any point during our meal if we enjoyed the food. The service was very inattentive!
Excellent in every way!
Food and service was excellent. Prices were very high relative to other local restaurants.
My favorite Main Line Restaurant.
Great for foodies, large menu selection plus several specials. Interesting fusion of flavors from appetizers to entrees to desserts. Service was attentive, pleasant and helpful. Well worth a visit and a return.
MY HUSBAND IS NOT A BIG FISH LOVER, BUT CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN FOR THE SCALLOPS. I HAD THE PHILO ENCRUSTED SCALLOPS, AND HE ORDERED THE SCALLOPS WITH POTATOES AND VEGETABLES . THE TABLE NEXT TO US HAD THE LAMB CHOPS AND RAVED ABOUT IT. STAY FOR DESSERT!! THE APPLE PIE IS A MUST.
Food was phenomenal, delicious. Excellent portions .
Fabulous, as always!
After reading some of the earlier reviews I thought that I may be disappointed with this restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised as were my dining partners. Food was good as was the service. I’m looking forward to returning again soon.
The presentation and quality of the food is top notch. They bake their own desserts and they are scrumptious.
This BYOB is phenomenal!!! We had the oysters, the phylodough scallops, the snapper, and the NZ lamb chops. Everything was absolutely delicious. Made another reservation for later this month. Can't wait to go back!
Great evening with great dinner and wonderful hospitality. We’ll be back.
We enjoyed tuna tartare and octopus as starters which were delicious and generous portions. For entrees we tried the halibut and the flounder special and found them to be fresh and well prepared. Will definitely go back
Nice BYOB dining experience. Food is always very good at the Choice.
We had a lovely lunch. The food and service were excellent.
The Choice is a no-brainer. Excellent food, perfect fish, absolutely delicious, and that's true each and every visit, as well. Great service, attentive service, fair prices and neighborhood vibe. Highest recommendation.
This was our first time dining here and we had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, as well as beautifully prepared and presented, and the service was great. We will be back.
Food was outstanding. Love that it’s a BYO
Outstanding! We're always greeted warmly at The Choice! The food was exceptional - especially the Duck Confit and the Wagyu Beef and the Yellowtail Sashimi! Do not miss! A wonderful bonus that it's a byob! Love, Love, Love!!
This restaurant should have a Michelin star rating. My favorite restaurant when in Philly.
wonderful food, very pricey, very loud hard to have a conversation
The restaurant seemed nice a little too quiet bc I felt like we couldn’t talk too loud as I we can everyone talking low and just made it awkward. The food was pretty good but the halibut was overcooked and that was disappointing as the flavors were spot on and the chocolate meltdown cake was bland.
Food was amazing with complex tastes. The temperature for each dish was perfect and the freshness of the food was superb!
Fishy smell when first entering. However, food was excellent and service was outstanding. We will recommend and definitely return.
Another fantastic experience at The Choice. Don't miss the chicken pate and steak tartare!
Will go back many times
Best Restaurant on Main Line- with a most interesting menu . Ceviches and Carpaccios are especially innovative
Outstanding food and service! One comment to the chefs...the food s so delicious, a bit too heavy with the soy sauce let the food shine thru!
The lamb chops were exquisitely seasoned and scalloped potatoes were yum. All entrees we enjoyed were perfectly prepared and presented.
