The Chocolatier serves up family fare with a fun spin, and hints of chocolate. The space features past and present pieces from the Hersheypark® ride collection, one-of-a-kind views of neighboring attractions, and a second-story patio and bar. The Chocolatier celebrates the life and legacy of our founder, Milton S. Hershey, by continuing to bring people together for happiness, fun, and of course, chocolate.

This restaurant is locally convenient when exciting Hershey Park. The food is OK—not great, but not terrible. The drinks were WAY overpriced. The ambiance is cool and our waitress was great. I’d say worth it to do once—and done!

It’s a restaurant attached to an amusement park, so fine dining was not my expectation. Shrimp tacos were very small (2 tacos, about 2 shrimp each), but good flavor and not over cooked. Kids meals and husband’s sandwich seemed about right for this type of establishment. Cocktails and beer overpriced and mainly sugar/juice based on the Sangria. Kids got one of the $17 milkshakes with two added desserts topping it and we all shared. Overall about what I expected.

Pleasantly surprised! (Was concerned based on other reviews…) We had dinner reservations for 6:30 (park closed at7), were promptly seated, waiter was attentive, food came out in reasonable time, & everyone was happy with their meal. Easy location to eat & close out a full day @ the park!

This restaurant is not worth the hype. The food was average and the food took over an hour to be served. While there are not many other restaurant options at the park itself this isn’t one I’d recommend.

The food was good, however our service was not. Our server only came by once in the 2.5 hours we were there. The appetizer came out with our entrees, which took almost 2 hours to be served. Equally sized groups were seated around us, and their tables were flipped at least once before we were able to eat at all. Because we dined during park hours, we lost all of that extra time out of the 8 hours that the park was open. With a better service experience, this restaurant would be at least 4 stars.

We had terrible service. All the food came out at different times, very far apart. We had to keep asking for our drinks and didn’t even get water until food was gone. It was super lame . Food is ok.

One of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. They were not busy but our server was noticeably absent that I had to get up to find her to get a refill of my ice tea after 15 minutes. She was talking with a coworker rolling silverware. At the 45 minute mark after ordering I again had to track someone down to find out why our food was taking so long only to have a table next to us who sat down 20 minutes after us get their food. I was told they were waiting on one more item (quesadillas) and we waiting again for another 10 minutes until I again had to seek out a manger only to have one of the most unprofessional conversations while explaining what was happening that I needed to calm down and was threaten to be thrown out because I was upset my three kiddos were still waiting for their lunch almost an hour after we had sat down. Never did this manager acknowledge that an hour wait for our food was unacceptable and clearly they had made a mistake. I never yelled or shouted but was clearly upset and had continued to be ignored by the staff. Again the restaurant was not busy and all we ordered was buttered noodles, French fries quesadillas and shrimp tacos. Then the food miraculously arrived only to have the been dried out from sitting under a heat lamp and the server didn’t even have my daughter’s French fries. Now we were on to the general manager who stat rushed a new order of noodles and offered free desserts but by then we were beyond frustrated. An hour and half later we left vowing never to return.

We weren’t served water, we had to ask AFTER we got our food. They gave us dirty plates. The person who brought out our food ignored us twice. They gave us honey mustard instead of cheese for our pretzel bites. Our waitress checked on us all about 2 times but nonetheless we still have her 20%. Food was subpar, drinks were okay. Restaurant itself was blah(that’s a whole other story). I will not be going back and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

My boyfriend and I have been excited to try The Chocolatier since it opened. I made a reservation to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. The restaurant is beautiful. Our dissatisfaction began when we went to the restrooms to wash our hands. The floor leading back was sticky as if long-spilled soda had been left to dry. The stickiness had been tracked into the bathrooms making the floor there uncomfortable as well. We had been seated for 15-20 minutes before our server even acknowledged us. They were not busy. There were empty tables all around us. He brought our soft drinks over and took our orders. We would not see him again until the all the food came out. The appetizers came along with the meals. We ordered the pretzel bites; they look and tasted like the ones from the freezer section of the grocery store. My boyfriend had ordered the fried chicken sandwich and fried it was. The coating tasted like flour and the chicken could not be any drier. I had the grilled chicken sandwich. Despite the impressive description of its construction, it was very bland and dry as well. We chose to go there because of the hype. On my way back to the bathroom to wash the sticky, bland sauce from my hands, I saw the pizza come out of the kitchen and the Ferris wheel of appetizers. Everything looked like it had previously been frozen, thawed, and reheated. The only food that looked appetizing were the salads. We expected a dining experience. What we got was poor service and food that could have been outdone by Applebee’s and paid twice the price. We will never return here unless drastic changes are made.

We visited for lunch 8/17/22, first impression was not desirable. The hostess was not friendly upon our arrival when I walked up and said hello she did not say hello but instead rudely said, “reservation?” To which I replied we had a reservation. We were then seated at a table where all the chairs were filthy. When our waiter arrived we told him we had a severe peanut allergy at the table and asked if they had options on the menu that were safe. He replied, “there are things without peanuts and yes it’s safe”, in a very dismissive attitude. Not feeling comfortable with his response we approached the manager who stated they had a allergy protocol and that they can assure it’s safe as long as the waiter properly puts in the order. When he took our order we informed him that he needed to let the chef know about the peanut allergy to which he seemed annoyed. Considering this is a life or death allergy he should have been better prepared to answer our questions and handle our order. The food was prompt and no real complaints except it was WAY overpriced for average food. All in all what were expecting was an upscale dining experience and it ended up being a lack luster, overpriced lunch with subpar service. I would not return.

There was a mix up with our check. We are hoping we were not double charged( we are King/ Annual Pass Holders & I had my lanyard around my neck) because the waitress failed to take off the 15% and they had to make an adjustment. We have dined here approx 10x’s since it opened and have no issues. Great food, great service, great atmosphere.

The Chocolatier is excellent! We had a party of 4 reservation for the patio after the park closed on a Monday night. We were seated about 10 minutes before our reservation time. The inside of the restaurant was very busy and a bit noisy, but out on the patio was extremely peaceful. It was quiet, you had a beautiful view of Candymonium and Chocolatetown. The lighting was beautiful. Our service was very good. Our server was attentive, and came back enough where she wasn't gone too long, but she wasn't constantly coming over. She was also very nice and polite. We got 2 pulled pork sandwiches, 1 with slaw and fries, 1 without slaw and with sweet potato fries, as well as a bacon cheeseburger and the grilled shrimp street tacos. The pulled pork was delicious! It had a nice, smokey flavor, with a nice hint of sweetness from the chocolate bbq sauce. The fries were good and fresh as well. My mother in law was raving about how good the shrimp tacos were, my brother in law loved the bacon cheeseburger, and my wife absolutely loved her pulled pork sandwich. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, on a beautiful night after a fun day at Hersheypark! Definitely recommend it!

The chicken and waffles and short ribs were delicious-glad we also splurged on the Take5 cake it was amazing! The cocktails and Troegs chocolate beer were also tasty! It was fun to try The Chocolatier out. The decor is worth seeing, and the menu is unique. The food was mediocre at best for the price, and the service was ok. There’s nothing that makes it really worth the prices you’ll pay. On the plus side, if you’re looking for a sit down meal that’s not crowded, give it a shot. It’s not terrible. It’s just not great either.

It was nice to have a sit down dinner indoors after a long day in the park. That said, the place serves up diner level food with some themed options. The atmosphere is fine, the food options are fine, the issue is the quality level of the food itself. TINY chicken wings, deli counter lunch meat in the turkey club, etc. They just need higher quality ingredients.
