Excellent as always. The scallop entree was outstanding.

Enjoyed the stuffed dates and the burrata appetizer-delicious as usual. The crab cakes special was very good and I'm very appreciative of the kids menu as we like to enjoy a nicer restaurant occasionally with fun options for them. They liked the animal crackers with peanut butter starter and the cored, spiralled apple that came with it-plus the kid meal options included a filet with broccholini. However, service only got three stars as our waitress couldn't really describe the oysters at all (So we didn't get them) and when asked about the fish and chips, whether or not she would recommend it, her response was disinterested. Not the usual level of service we're used to. Also sat in the bar area for the first time - was really loud last night.

Very accommodating as we arrived late for our reservation but they worked very hard to get us seating in a reasonable amount of time. We really appreciated that.

First time there, and the food was really good. Definitely get My Wife's Cauliflower Burrito Bowl. The way they roast the cauliflower makes it taste amazing. You can get me added to the bowl as well.

Needed to find seating for Easter Sunday and Chew-Chew was available! Especially glad because we've eaten here before and have yet to be disappointed. Once again, it proved to be a real winner and very local to our home. It was also encouraging to see many familiar faces on the staff, which goes to show that this restaurant really takes care of its people; no high turn-over here. Easter Brunch was amazing. My daughter said this is best french toast she has ever had (and she's had plenty at the Chew Chew). Scott is always updating his menu and offers a good mix of regional and unique dishes.

Always looking for a new and neighborhood dining experience. Drove in from the northern suburbs and well worth the drive. Greeted by a friendly staff and promptly seated. Super friendly server took her time to explain the specials as well as the menu favorites. Menu ranged from sandwiches to very creative entrees. I ordered the wild boar meatloaf which arrived in a superb presentation and was delicious. My GF had the jambalaya which had just the right amount of kick. Definitely on my revisit list.

We've been going to the Chew Chew for years. Whether for apps and cocktails or for a full dinner with wine and dessert we have always treasured a trip to the Chew Chew. The food is fresh, seasonal, and prepared/plated with attention to detail. Service is always prompt, courteous and professional. This is a great casual-but-elegant type of restaurant.

Whether you want to go for a quick half-pound burger and skinny fries with a craft beer or do the whole calamari with martinis then move on to a filet mignon, a cabernet and a slice of Belgian chocolate cake, you can't go wrong with the Chew Chew.

Always good, always reliable, both in terms of the excellent food and the attentive waitstaff. And unlike most any similar spot in the city there's ample parking, and that Riverside ambiance.

My first time visiting the Chew Chew and I can't believe it took me so long to go there! Easily one of the best meals I've had recently. I'm usually a meatatarian, but the sweet potato/quinoa bowl sounded so good, I ordered it and it exceeded my expectations. Just a wonderful mix of ingredients and the toasted hazelnuts were the perfect bit of crunch. Our appetizers of tuna poke and crab fritters were also excellent. Wonderful server and staff. Will go back soon - probably this month!

Staff was attentive without us feeling rushed which a big pet peeve of mine. Food was excellent throughout from appetizers through desert. We had shrimp cocktail with mango salsa and beets and asparagus to start. Definitely get the beets and asparagus !!! I had the trout and my wife had the salmon which we both enjoyed. Had the chocolate brownie sundae for dessert which was very good as well. We further enjoyed the lighting (we could actually see the menus without pulling our phone light on it) and the noise level was on the quiet side considering it was 7pm on a Saturday night. Will definitely be back and bring some friends as well.

It was our daughter’s birthday! My dad was with us who is very sensitive to noise, they were so accommodating and placed us on the second level in the back where it was nice and quiet. Definitely one of our favorite places!

The Chew Chew consistently delivers creative cuisine. We had the Scallops and Risotto and the Warm Asparagus, Potato, and Farro Salad. Both were delicious - cooked perfectly and with rich flavor. It was a busy night and it was noisy - a little hard to hear, but once we settled in to our table we were able to have a conversation with ease. Always great service!

I'm happy I asked friends to meet me here for dinner. The menu had lots of good choices as well as the special menu for that night. The specials for drinks was also very nice. We enjoyed spending out time visiting the restaurant and enjoying a great meal.

The service was great. Server made recommendations for us and advised that our little girl might not prefer the Mac and cheese as it was not traditional. I appreciate that because it is sometimes difficult to order for children. Long wait even though we had reservations. We do have 6 to seat, so it usually takes a while for us at most places.

The food was very good and menu was diverse and not overpriced. The restaurant is set up well and not too crowded feeling or loud, but the lighting gives it a downscale, cafeteria like feel that takes away from the vibe. The service was very good also.

We love Chew Chew! Great food, at a great downtown Riverside location. American food with a twist. Love the menu item options and always fun specials. There is a kids menu too.

Phenomenal Mardi Gras fare - best blackened redfish we've had outside New Orleans. Shrimp with Remoulade sauce were perfect. Authentic red beans and rice as well as the crawfish etouffe. Loved it all. Wish it was all on the menu every day.

Love the Chew Chew....it is a restaurant worth driving to and it is a neighborhood gem as well. Went for the Mardi Gras menu this weekend and was not disappointed with the food!!!!! What a treat to eat. Service by the owner, Scott was more than we could ask for as he got us a perfect table because we had an 8month old with us....it is a kid friendly place to eat as well. Saw quite a few families enjoying their meals. Great decor and fun for Mardi Gras as the wait staff were dressed in costumes handing out beads. Go there you will not be disappointed.

This was our first visit to The Chew Chew and we will be going back. From the oysters to herbed chicken and penne pasta and then ending with an absolutely delicious key lime pie, there was nothing about this meal that we didn't like! The server was polite and attentive. Love this restaurant.
