The Chew Chew is celebrating 28 years of great food & hospitality in the heart of Riverside, IL directed by original Chef/Owner Scott Zimmer. Located one-mile east of Brookfield Zoo, 5 miles northwest of Midway Airport and 10 miles west of Downtown Chicago. There is a Metra Train stop on our block for safe & easy access in/out of the City. We feature a multi-level dining room, vibrant full-bar & a cozy outdoor patio May-October (weather permitting). Happy Hour daily 4-5:30pm with beer, wine & cocktail specials. An excellent neighborhood restaurant in a very quaint section of Riverside. Get there early and take a walk by the train station to see some of the old buildings. The food and service were excellent. Everything tasted very fresh. The pacing of the courses was excellent. We had the bacon wrapped dates, baked onion soup, dinner salad, jambalaya, mussels, french fries, coffee and a gelato. We were very pleased with everything. Thank you again G. They have an outdoor patio that is opened in warmer weather. Make a reservation on Friday or Saturday. It gets crowded.

This place sits adjacent to the commuter rail tracks, hence the name. We were in a rather large group, which is often a challenge for servers. Despite this, the service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. The eclectic menu includes some items you wouldn't expect; read it all before deciding. Food quality was very good, as reported by the members of our group who ordered various items.

Every meal was exceptional, from the Salmon to the pasta to the drinks. Amazing appetizers, the bacon-wrapped dates were delightful! And the desserts were out of this world. Key Lime Pie and the Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée. Service was great. Very attentive server. Can’t wait to come back.

Our table was a group of six friends gathering for dinner together. We were promptly seated and provided with info on the specials for the day. Overall the service, food, and drinks were excellent. Highly recommend The Chew Chew for a truly enjoyable dining experience when in the Chicago area.

Always good. One of our favorite restaurants. Brussels sprouts and risotto were great but we have had better ribs. Love the brand of Prosecco! Chopped wedge continues to be a winner.
