   I felt like royalty, as the welcome was the best I've ever had from a restaurant. As I had booked and as they were prepared, it felt like the waiters were my best friends. My wife was really impressed on my choice of restaurant. Asking about beers, the waiter provided a few samples to my table. Beer choices were okay, but not a huge range. I did not chose this restaurant for an evening drinking ales, though, so more than adequate. The batter on the fish was really nice and crunchy and stayed that way till the last piece, not going soggy after a few minutes. Pudding was okay as I was quite fully up, and maybe should have been more sensible, therefore I had to force it in. I chose pudding as the restaurant ambience and setting made me have my pudding.

   A Friday lunchtime & only one other table eating. Pleasant attentive staff but sadly the food was slightly disappointing for a full priced option.

   Went for a last min midweek meal. Food was fantastic, menu extensive, all home cooked and delicious. Really good value for money. I have Coeliac daughter and could not believe the fantastic range of gluten free options, the best I have seen ANYWHERE. The staff were attentive and friendly with good knowledge of the menu. I can highly recommend and we will be back.

   Lovely pub with an unusual menu selection and great offering for Vegan and Dairy Free diners. Grrat service from Joan and Andrew.

   Lunch time visit on impulse.We had a voucher given as gift to use so thought we would go for lunch.Extremely welcoming staff,very varied menu to cater for most tastes.We had Pumpkin soup to start accompanied by fresh baguettes.To follow we had Gammon with fresh eggs,rustic chips and leafy salad.The meal was accompanied with a bottle of Viognier.We lastly chose a sorbet dessert consisting of Lemon,Raspbery & Pear.We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and will be visiting again very soon.

   We really enjoy the freshly individually cooked meals which arrive nice and hot and are very tasty whatever you choose. There is also an option for those with health issues and intolerances which are also catered for. Not a huge choice of deserts but we always find something enjoyable especially the cheese board.

   We had a very enjoyable meal at the Chester Arms to celebrate a family birthday. We had a reserved table in a quiet corner of the restaurant and the service was excellent. The menu was varied and we all had something different. A pleasant spot, half way between Oxford and Cambridge ideal for our family gathering. We will definitely be back. A great find.

   Very good find! Great new menu and very good service. Brisket was delicious and there was plenty of choice on the mine. They also offer gluten free, vegetarian and dairy free menus. Definitely worth a visit.

   Myself and my wife traveled over as it has a god selection of vegan food on the menu for my wife. The food was nice and the atmosphere was quite which was nice. The only thing that i could say that was bad was my fillet steak that should of came out medium well but it came out well to extra well cooked. I will be going over again as I'm sure it will be cooked more to my liking next time.

    Booked as a last-minute Wedding Anniversary meal on a Saturday evening. Booked via internet and although our taxi got us there early, the staff were very accomodating and friendly and we were shown straight to our table. Food arrived promptly and was somewhat filling! (I had the ribs and could only manage half. The staff wrapped up the rest and I enjoyed them the following day). Maybe we shouldn't have had the nacho sharing plate to start but they were SOOOO GOOD. Beer was good as well. All in all, a very enjoyable experience and we will certainly be back. No hesitation in recommending the Chester Arms, particularly if you have a food intolerance - they have seperate menus for gluten-free and vegan.
