   Five of us aged from 10 to 87 went for Sunday lunch. The Chester Arms is set back slightly from the main road through Chicheley, but we could not hear any traffic noise inside the pub. There is a good sized gravel car park behind the pub and disabled parking is on tarmac close to the pub entrance. We were welcomed warmly and shown to our table, which was down a couple of steps in the restaurant area behind the bar. Fortunately my 87 year old Mum is ok with steps, but I felt that the staff would have happily accommodated us in another step free area if we had asked. Menus were produced, and our drinks order taken which gave us time to peruse the varied selection on offer. Three of us opted for the roast beef, the youngest chose fish and chips and the fifth member of our group chose a vegetarian meal, mushrooms with goats cheese and a choice of sides. There was also a good gluten free menu. The meals arrived in good time and all were hot and extremely tasty. The portions were very generous; three large slices of beef, roast potatoes, a huge Yorkshire pudding and at least five vegetables. The fish was a good size and beautifully cooked and the mushrooms and goats cheese dish was pronounced heavenly! We were all too full to tackle a dessert but we will return and perhaps choose slightly lighter dishes so that we can sample the delightful desserts! The service throughout the meal was fantastic; our requests for sauces, extra gravy and the ten year old's never ending supply of ketchup were all fulfilled with humour and politeness! Thank you to all the team at The Chester Arms!

   We always enjoy our visit to the Chester Arms, the food is always good especially with the dietary menu's for those with problems.

   Restaurant was very busy and the service a bit slow but the quality of the food and service when it came made up for it.

   Service was friendly, setting was nice and traditional, but the food was simply awful. A great shame

   We really enjoyed our roast dinners this weekend. The portion sizes were good and the meat was very tender. Delicious sticky toffee pudding too. Would definitely return!

   Been here a few times over the years and it's never failed to impress. I've recently converted to veganism and the choice and flavor of their dishes was amazing. Hope to be back soon.

   The pub is a nice one. The chicken satay starter was Luke warm almost cold, I do not think it was supposed to be like that. Ham eggs and chips followed and that was very poor and one of my favourite pubby style meals, I have that everywhere. The eggs were obviously left unattended in the pan or griddle as was the gammon. It was pretty dry and not very good. The meal was being bought for me so I decided to keep quiet and not make a fuss and we were discussing business anyway. The cheese board was enormous and I had to take it away, they boxed it for me. The Chester sounded great but I was very disappointed with it and probably will not go there again.

   Enjoyed our meals. Cauliflower soup could have been spicier, but otherwise all was very good. Meat generous. Desserts yummy. Friendly service. Will be back.

    After looking up reviews we decided to visit one saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised . We love the atmosphere at this pub and the food is delicious and good size portions for the price. The staff are friendly and we didn't wait a long time for food but didn't mind if it was a bit longer and we enjoyed our time there ! It is best to book beforehand to not be disappointed as they can get busy at the weekend and evenings. Worth the drive from Two Mile Ash in Milton keynes .
