Terrific evening meal for 4. Great service-- friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Various cosy sections to sit in. Highly recommended.

Very welcoming and friendly. Great service, lovely food. Try their scotch egg starter, it's lovely (if a little expensive at £7.50) - rest of the menu is good value.

Lovely meal, although waited too long to order and had to go to the bar to order another drink. But the atmosphere was good, just not enough staff probably.

Evening complete disaster ,battered haddock served to me and my quest smelt gone off!!!! Ordered Scampi ,that was mistake ,it was slimy obviously in oil that was not hot enough ,no hope if kitchen staff r unable to cook Scampi !!!! The meet and greet staff first class .I am unable to recall a worse meal than this, my wife and I were celebrating my son and wife’s wedding anniversary Colin Oram

I enjoyed the meal in the very lovely outside area which had nice views. I will certainly be visiting again.

Great little country pub, real coking from the chef/owner and happy to make a meal suit specific needs.

Crazy busy on a beautiful summers evening. We were grabbing a quick bite before heading to the cinema - quick was a little much to expect at 7.15pm on a Friday, so no complaint here. Remind me not to order chips next time - the chips are so, so large (not chips in my book), that cooking to perfection is always gonna be an issue - especially when the kitchen is a full stretch. The burger was delish tho.

Good pub grub in a nice setting. Pub is a little tired in side but overall this is worth a visit and the staff are friendly.

Lovely traditional pub in a beautiful village setting. Celebrated my Dad's birthday with a excellent meal and drinks. Staff were really friendly and great with my little boy. Price was more than reasonable, will definitely be returning in the near future to what could be our new regular.

We loved out visit to The Chequers, we went on a recommendation and it met all our expectations. Fun, but not too loud. Advise to book a table though as it is quite busy!

We love this restaurant and come often. Unfortunately the food is not as good as it used to be which is very disappointing. The staff are lovely and make you feel very welcome. Good atmosphere.

An enjoyable evening out although the choices on the menu seemed less than our previous recent visit...

As always another lovely meal at The Chequers , once again our steak was lovely we take advantage of the Tuesday steak night as well as other occasions ! We live locally so the Chequers is great for food or just a few beers anytime , try it you wont be disappointed.

Excellent evening at the Chequers as always , the steak we had was superb and so was all the extras we had Including I must say the chips ! Beer was excellent as well , always enjoy our experience at the Chequers.

The Chequers is our local whenever we have a special occasion or just fancy eating out, we always choose our favourite local. Although we haven't been for a while last Sunday was excellent, I could not fault ANYTHING! A superb Sunday lunch which was cooked to perfection, excellent service very pleasant waitress.
I can't wait for our next excuse to eat out!
I may even come this Sunday and treat Mum 😊

We eat here quite regularly , food , service , staff and the surroundings make it a great experience , the only gripe I've on the last two visits are the chips or rather French fries , the ones we've had recently are to put it mildly didn't make the grade ! they used to serve chunky chips with the steak meals and they were so much better , that aside its an excellent place for a meal or just a pint.

The food was good but the service was very slow. There were just two members of staff serving both drinks and food.

Overall a good evening except we were seated very close to a group of ladies obviously on a night out which made it difficult to hear what we were saying. Obviously not your fault. As we had a later booking (8.45pm) due to you being busy we were a little surprised that you close the kitchen at 9.00pm on what is a busy Saturday night and we were rushed into choosing our meal as soon as we sat down. Perhaps a warning at the time of booking. Having said that the service was friendly but would have preferred the waitress to come back say 5 minutes later instead of hovering over the table. Do I understand there is a 15% discount offer for your Plough Venue ?

My partner and I had a lovely Sunday lunch. The pub is clean and the staff are friendly. Pub is set in a lovely location. Staff were very friendly and the food came almost immediately. I had the beef which was lovely and not tough. I enjoyed the food. My partner had the gammon and said it would have been better with a sauce. We both had the sticky toffee pudding which was lovely.

A lovely quick local pub supper before heading to the cinema. Four of us covered the menu pretty much. Loose Juice a fab beer to seal the meal. Totally recommend this pub, come wind or shine

The food was nice but the fish and chips was a very small portion, I would call it a child's portion and I was still hungry after finishing. Although it was beautifully cooked and well presented , it was too small. My husband did enjoy his steak- again well cooked and this was a reasonable portion. My son had the lasagne, which looked fine. The venue is in a great location and there is a large
Outside space. A I would go again but I would order something else ( larger portion I hope!)

When my wife got her dinner it was cold we complained and asked for something else in witch that was happy to do so the only thing is the Sunday menu is very small
