Welcome to The Chequers, Hainford | Country Pub & Dining Room | We're opening on the 17th June. Come back soon to see our new menu, crafted by Executive Chef Pete Murrell and his team.

Nestled in the Norfolk village of Hainford, you’ll find beautiful, exposed beams, authentic stone floors and open fire places inside this 18th Century thatched country pub & dining room.

A country pub through and through serving local ales, artisan spirits and a menu full of the best seasonal produce curated by Executive Chef Pete Murrell and his team. Very enjoyable meal with a couple of friends. Food was delicious and no complaints about the service. Would definitely return.

Friendly staff, great food at a decent price. Been a few times before and will definitely go again. No complaints whatsoever.

Great pub with thatched roof & beams. Food & Service was very good . Server was helpful & friendly . Also had a good knowledge of the menu when we asked a range of questions. Plenty of parking & good value

Wow, what a beautiful meal we had, I opted for the 3 course ( you have to purchase a roast to take advance) £27 for a 3 course meal. What a great deal. The food was amazing. Starter I had potted cromer crab with asparagus ice cream ( what a great flavour) with soda bread and crispy batter saphire.Then the lamb roast. Wow, the flavours. And lemon meringue cheese cake for dessert. My other half had the onglet steak. Fantastic. Great food, lovely atmosphere. Highly underrated and wasn't busy at all. Get there, support them, and enjoy. I've been to 1 or 2 nice restaurant establishments over the last couple of years. Some pretty pricey for what you get and the food in other places from today's standards at The Chequers have been very mediocre. Many thanks to the talented chef

I used to come here a lot a while ago.. but my experience recently wasn’t so good. So I thought we’d give it one last try last night. I would now not return again. There is no wine list, so it’s hard to choose what wine to have without seeing the variety or the cost, you just get told what wines are available. The stater was nice. I did ask for a 15- 20 minute break between course. This didn’t happen, after our starters were cleared 5 minutes later our mains were served. I’d asked for my meat to be well cooked, it wasn’t. It was a disappointing meal. The staff seem inexperienced, they came with a card machine to take payment whilst I was still checking the bill. No patience. It felt rushed. This place is such a beautiful building. I think they need to remember dining is an experience, if i wanted fast food I’d go to McDonald’s.

The food and service was good but £18 pound for a beef burger is expensive and £8 for a sweet is just rediculous

Starters very uninspiring. Main course to much gravy and Veg & potatoes not hot enough. Also waitress spilt gravy over my trousers didn't say anything perhaps she didn't notice
