   It is very rare that I order steak as its normally not cooked as I ask or it's an inferior piece of meat, however the ribeye that I had at the chequers was delicious, cooked perfectly and the tastiest steak I've had in a very long time, the sides were also fantastic and a great veer and wibe selection, I highly recommend this place 😁

   Our Sunday lunch experience was very good and enjoyable. We managed to sit in the covered outside area which was lovely given the day was so warm. I'm not usually a lover of pub roast lunches as I am a cook myself but for the first time in a very very long time, I did have the roast and it was excellent. The desserts were lovely although perhaps on the sweet side; perhaps have at least a slightly lighter option. The only tiny observation was the level of the music and also the choice which was banal and on a loop. The staff were delightful and charming; warm smiles and eye contact. Well done.

   The Chequers at Burcot is a great place for lunch or supper. Lovely ambience in old thatched inn. Very welcoming staff. Good choice on menu including imaginative options. Everything delicious and staff ensure you have everything you need. You end up feeling you have had a special evening (or lunch).

   Food was average was nothing wrong with it but for the price you expect a lot better than average. We wa the only 4 people in there at 5.15 on a Saturday evening so that says a lot. It’s a shame as the menu is good but it’s no better than miller and carter and miller and carter is a lot cheaper

   Fantastic food, friendly and respectful seater and service is fast. You get what you pay for, slightly more expensive than your average but food is very good.

   Lovely Mothers Day meal - portions were very generous and despite best efforts couldn’t finish everything! The roast beef was fantastic and particular highlight was the cauliflower cheese puree. All mums were given a gift bag of flowers and a card which was really thoughtful. Staff were friendly and polite on what is a very busy and stressful day for all restaurants. Will definitely be back.
