The Chelsea Cellar
Its all about the ingredients.....fresh, seasonal and top quality.
The Cicchetti (or small plates) that are served at The Chelsea Cellar give you a perfect excuse to make your very own tasting menu. Alternatively 'Go large' and enjoy them as a full main course. Regardless of how you order we know you'll love them!
Our new favourite neighborhood hang out!
Very friendly and welcoming. Food good but service a little slow, fine for us as we were very relaxed and in no hurry as it was a Friday evening. Will definitely be back..
Food was really good, great ambiance, perfect for a date night or catching up with friends. Great value considering quality and good size of dishes
This restaurant really is wonderful. It’s small and welcoming with delicious food, lovely wine and friendly staff. The atmosphere truly topped off our experience, I can’t wait to return.
What a fantastic find...amongst the noise of the bars and pubs on the street, we were taken down stairs to a quiet yet very ambient restaurant. A delicious menu and they could not of been more accommodating in regards to my being a coeliec. Delicious food, great service that was helpful, polite and super friendly.
The cost of the meal and the variety of wines was a treat in an area that can sometimes be overpriced. Cannot recommend more highly!!!
Great evening and had an even better dining experience
Had a lovely evening here with friends. Great service and lovely food. Really good value. Nice touch that after we had booked the restaurant took another booking for 20 and checked that we didn’t mind it being lively that evening. Will definitely be back.
A fantastic place to eat that gets away from some of the tourist areas. Small place with great service, amazing food and great prices. Both of our meals were of high quality and a portion size that was more than enough. The wine list was high quality and very reasonable prices. Very glad we found The Chelsea Cellar instead of listening to our hotel's recommendations for places (we stayed at Hotel Xenia) that were closer but looked very, very touristy. We enjoy being more with locals and eating quality food and this certainly fit that bill. Great food, great service, great location. Fantastic overall meal and experience!
Went with a friend and we had a lovely dinner. The staff were very friendly and attentive and they even put a candle on the desert as it was friend's birthday. Will definitely go there again
Splendid in every way
By chance found this Adorable restaurant located in the cellar. The space is small with maybe 9 tables. Great for a date or meeting friends. Extremely friendly service. The food was excellent! I had the ravioli and the sauce was amazing. Great wine choices recommended by the staff. I’ve already recommended this place to friends and strangers.
What a find! I purposely avoid Italian restaurants in London because in order to eat to the standard of Italy you need to pay the equivalent of the flight and the meal there combined. Thus, I only gave this place a chance because after a 12 hour day at work, not having eaten or drunk for 8, I was too hungry to be “fussy” about the competency of the chef (and we were driving pass on our way home). To my surprise, the food was so good that we came back two nights in a row! (And my husband is Italian!)
This was my second visit and the food was outstanding.
What a wonderful way to spend a Friday evening with friends.
This restaurant was recommended by a friend and I am glad we took up her recommendation.
Food was lovely with a nice balance of authentic Italian flavours and very reasonable prices. Menu had something for everybody and was presented as well as any other high priced Italian restaurants in London. The owners were extremely accommodating and adapted any dishes where possible. Lots of space around your table - so your dining experience felt as though you were in a private room rather than a restaurant setting. This was also enhanced by the extremely comfortable miniature sofas that you sat on instead of chairs. I dined with 4 other friends, two of whom had celebrated their birthdays earlier in the week. The owners were kind enough to produce a chandelier candle on top of a very lovely chocolate brownies - it was a nice touch. The owners really made as feel at home, so much so that we just sat and chatted even when our meal was finished... Thank you.
I am only sorry that I do not live much closer - but it definitely was worth the journey from North London.
Hope to be back real soon.
Great food, great menu, very nice people serving. It is a pleasure to be received by the owner that knows very well what they are serving and what to recommend. Overall great experience!
Once again this wonderful restaurant provided quite excellent Italian food with a most interesting selection of wines in a most congenial ambience.
A quiet evening with a couple of friends in from Switzerland. The Chelsea Cellar is one of the great little undiscovered secrets in the whole Chelsea area. The food is great and simple (and is proper Italian), the wine list is excellent and the owners are a blast. It has become one of my favourite restaurants in town.
I rarely write a review. This is an excellent restaurant. The food was exceptional...order 3 dishes, each better than the other. My favorite - the Orchiette Primavira. Service was excellent and ambiance pleasant. Tremendous value on top of that. Truly a Chelsea, and all of London gem. Highly recommend for any occasion.
Lovely little hidden gem. Have been a few times but was a while ago. Glad to see it's still as lovely as always
This was an excellent find. I took a date there on a recommendation from a friend and it was perfect. Intimate atmosphere, warm service (we weren't rushed, they seemed happy to have us there), and exceptional food. Will definitely be going back!
This was our second visit to The Chelsea Cellar and again we had a very pleasant evening. The food and wine was excellent, but what makes the place is the relaxed friendly service from the two chaps, front of house and chef respectively. A little gem.
I took two friends there for supper on Friday, 14th June, 2019. I have dined there on numerous occasions. The owners are charming, cuisine delicious with an Italian atmosphere. Highly recommend. M
I think I can sum it up as soft and relaxing. Soft lighting, soft background music, soft seating (chairs you sink into rather than sit on), Tim and Roy are softly spoken and even the conversation by the diners was just a background hum. No noise. The food was excellent although Yvonne did tell them it was a birthday celebration so my dessert was topped with a miniature plastic candelabra with about 6 candles in it! Yvonne and I both agreed that we would go again.
this is an excellent neighbourhood restaurant... good food, good value for chelsea where the rates are high.. very friendly owners who also do the cooking and look after the tables... it is a great addition to Park walk.. they deserve to do very well.
Tiny local gem that is impossible to categorise. If you want a buzz, a plethora of diners under forty, irritating waitstaff or a rip-off, then I suggest this may be the wrong place for you.
This is a great little neighbourhood gem! The food is always delicious and both the food and wine are very well priced. It is clear that the owners, who both run the restaurant and work there, love cooking and having people enjoy their place.
Friendly staff is where the positives end. The food really is not up to the standard for an Italian restaurant in London. The room decoration is not particularly pretty
A brilliant little place tucked away from the buzz of the main street.
If you want a quick bite on the run then this is not the place for you.......
If you have time to enjoy a meal in a relaxed environment with good friends then this is the place.....as a couple or family group.
Food is subtle and detailed....good wine list across the palet. Not hurried but enough service to make you feel comfortable.
Best place ive been to in a long while.
Maybe the best pasta I’ve had in years - and that was in Italy. The cellar is beautiful, the staff outstanding - the owners are waiting themselves and are the friendliest hosts, giving each visitor a great experience. Thanks for making my birthday a very very pleasant one!
Absolute gem of a place, with the food, the lovely owners and the overall vibe all on point. When I made the reservation online I had noted that it was my husband's birthday- without having to mention it again, the waiter (owner) brought a birthday dessert with birthday candles - thoughtful touch that capped off the end off a perfect evening.
A wonderful find. Delicious food, excellent service and a lovely, quiet, cosy ambiance. I want to return soon!
Personal experience with wonderful food. Can’t believe we havnt been sooner, will be back for sure
Great location, great food, very nice staff, cute little place.
Delicious meal in a great seeing. Could not recommend more!
Lovely, cozy atmosphere and wonderful service. Unpretensious, well-priced and delicious food. It was like being in someone’s house...hard to find front, though, as it looks like a front door but all worth the slight confusion! Will definitely go there again.
Hidden gem couldn’t be more apt. It was charming and cozy. Food was delicious and service was very attentive. Can’t wait for our next visit!
Fantastic meal at Chelsea Cellar. The restaurant is hidden from street level, but that doesn’t stop it from being cosy and welcoming. Excellent Italian food, wide variety of wine, and welcoming, but efficient service. Will definitely return.
We were a group of 8 & all had lovely meals. Service was excellent.
We were a party of 7 and we all had a lovely evening - well looked after, very tasty food and wine with unobtrusive music which didn't stop our conversation!
had a really nice meal with friends. uncharacteristically quiet for a Thursday evening but fine for us. all the dishes were tasty, carefully crafted. good wine list. menu is simple but plays to its strengths. cool place for a friends get together - the cave like interior also makes it good for a late night bite & drink
