The Cheese Bar
We work closely with our producers, sourcing all our cheese direct from UK-based farms that are making cheese in a traditional & thoughtful way.
Lived up the hype- every cheese lovers dream!!!!!!!
Overall the food was very nice, however, this was grossly overshadowed by the fact that I could barely hear my friend speak at the table - to the point where we couldn't even have a conversation without me asking her to repeat what she said multiple times. The cheese bar itself is very small which probably contributes to why it is so noisy, the music was too loud and there are no toilets. I think it is a good concept but there are many flaws and for these reasons I wouldn't return here or recommend it to a friend.
Excellent lunchtime meal with a very good value Pinot Noir
The cheese bar is a must for any cheese lover! The Mozzarella dippers and Raclette are my favourites but there is a great selection of cheeses and drinks to compliment them.
It was our first time in Camden market, although we have been London before. Our experience was fantastic, service was excellent and food was delicious. We ordered cheese fondue which was delicious , we also had a kid with us who ordered the 5 cheese pasta which was also delicious. We also ordered the rosemary and colada cocktail which where really nice as well. Servers were very nice and friendly, they also took our languages so that we can sit comfortably. Service was quick and efficient. I would definitely recommend this bar to anyone, it's worth a visit.
I had real high hopes about the cheese bar. I had contacted them prior about being gluten free so they could accommodate.
They substituted the bread with the most tasteless crackers you could buy. Honestly the packaging they came in probably had more flavour
The potatoes were so salty it sucked all the moisture from my mouth.
The wine tasted like soap.
I've been before so was extremely disappointed. I would not recommend this place.
My partner and I arrived adhoc to this venue, we was told the tables inside where fully booked so was recommended to sit outside which we had no issue doing. We took a seat outside and awaited someone to bring menus/introduce themselves for roughly 10 minutes, no one arrived. During this time I booked a table online.. walked back inside and said that I had booked a table (I found this odd as the server had already informed me there was nothing available and they where fully booked inside the restaurant?). He seated us at the bar counter, I must say the venue itself was gorgeous. We waited a further 10/15 minutes before someone approached us and asked if we 'wanted anything', I was a little unsure if we could order food at the bar counter so had to ask. We then surveyed the area to see minimal customers and the 4 servers chatting among themselves for a large majority of our stay. We had ordered the Classic Four Cheese Fondue Pot (For 2), it was quite impressive but nothing overly wowing about the presentation nor the taste. At no point did anyone approach us to ask if we where enjoying our meal or if we needed a top-up on our drinks. Once we had finished we waited patiently for someone to clear our plates after 5 minutes I staked the plates myself to see if this would spur any of servers on, nothing. We then waited another 5 minutes before calling a server over to clear the plates and get the bill. We would have stayed for another course or two but the poor service really jilted this experience for me.
I love the cheese bar the food is always amazing and its a great place to take your cheese loving friends, feels like an event.
My Girlfriend and I visited for her birthday in May 2019 and it was one of the nicest restaurants we've been to. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. We LOVED the four cheese fondue! They even surprised my girlfriend with a sundae and a candle (a very nice touch!) We are definitely going to come back and will certainly be recommending The Cheese Bar to our friends. :)
Amazing food and wonderful service! This was our last night in London and we couldn’t have spent it any better than visiting Camden and The Cheese Bar.
My first experience at The Cheese Bar has been really good: great food and drink selection, nice buzz, great food. Customer service was good: some team member better than others and they looked after the customers in a professional and friendly way (I've been there when the manager on duty has to handle a complaint with some customers sitting close to me, it went smoothly and nicely). I'd recommend this place to a friend and I'll be back soon!
We made a noon reservation and were very glad we did as it was steadily busy while there.
The recommendations were spot on. We had the blue cheese raclette, cheese board and shared a 500ml Sauvignon Blanc. I need gluten free and they knew because of my Open Table profile so they brought GF crackers to me. Fantastic!
It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
If you love your cheese, go here! The mozzarella sticks are unreal! We had the raclette and our friends had fondue, both very yummy, although we would have like to have our own raclette so we could melt the cheese ourselves (it came out already done for you on the plate!) but it was extremely yummy nevertheless and we will be back! :0)
Took my boyfriend here for his birthday as he loves cheese. Great venue, really good vibe. Has lots of gluten free options, not bread (maybe could think about doing this?) but had crackers and tortilla chips.Different. Would definitely go back.
Excellent visit, food was brilliant and service was great. Would highly recommend and will be back. Lovely touch for the birthday in our group with a little ice cream and candle which started the birthday off nicely!
Great food (just have the fondue it’s amazing) nice drinks and great atmosphere because it’s small. Sat at the counter and didn’t feel imposed by any other customers, plus it felt like I wasn’t in Camden (bonus cause I hate Camden)
A must for a cheese lover! The grilled cheese toast was amazing
Awesome concept and good food with great service. I would definitely go again.
Great for all cheese lovers! So many dishes to chose from.
I had bought my girlfriend 100 miles
To come here as a birthday surprise as she loves cheese, unfortunately they had run out of the dishes she wanted. The staff were ok albeit a little dismissive and slow. The food we eventually had was very good though. Although in terms of value for money was a little on the high side.
Good cheese, good service, good times. Best avoided by the lactose intolerant, highly recommended for everyone else.
Food was incredible! The only thing that let my experience overall was the seating.
Food was amazing, isn't too over priced but it is very small and felt more casual than I expected but I would 100% go back
Food was great! our favourite was the cheddar toastie - a must have!
Great Cheese, with lots of options and really well constructed dishes. It's an inclusive restaurant with everyone sat around a counter or at one other long thin table, but that adds to the experience.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and willing to go the extra yard to make sure you enjoy yourself.
The only slight downfall is the walk to the public toilet as they don't have one in the restaurant.
Great food and drink, but a little overpriced perhaps .
Very nice place for every cheese enthusiast. Nice atmosphere and a good selection on the menu. Prices are a bit high for the portion size but on the other hand the quality of the food is exquisite. Service was very nice and quick.
Would have liked to be able to buy some of the cheeses they display on the big panel, it's a shame it's just a brag list :)
We asked for the fondue and the bread had mould. They changed it immediately and tried to fix it by saying it wasn't mould but "it was next to the blue cheese" which sounds like the lamest excuse ever. Of course we didn't receive any discount, or complimentary bread or anything.
What a great experience for any cheese lover!!
We visited for Mother’s Day, 3 adults and a baby.
Despite not being set up for the pram, they accommodated us made us feel welcome the whole time.
The food was excellent, and the staff are fantastic.
The food was amazing, the staff were really friendly, chatty, and accommodating, and we had an awsome time!
Will definitely be back.
My friends and I enjoyed our meal here although the service was very slow. We ordered starters, sharers and main plates to all come at once to share and received one starter after about a 45 minute wait before waiting another 45 minutes for the rest of our food. The waiter who served us was helpful and apologetic but unfortunately this did not make up for the inexcusable wait.
When the food arrived it was excellent (although a little tepid which suggested it had been ready for a while) and we would visit again in the hopes that this service was a one-off poor experience.
An absolute must for a visit to The Stables!! The most amazing cheese fest I’ve ever had!!
So much lovely cheese! The selection was good, and the service helpful and friendly. We would definitely be happy to come back again, we just need to plan another trip into a London and make that happen!
The food was amazing and it was a really good experience. Definitely somewhere worth experiencing in London if like me you’re a cheese lover.
Great food and ambience. The service can become slower when there’s a lot of people seated - particularly around the bar. The food was really nice and what others were eating looked good too. The only thing that lowers comfortability is that you are sat on high chairs around a high bar that is quite cramped and therefore you may find you haven’t got much arm space. Also, at the main bar, there is corner seating which may not be to everyone’s liking.
Really great place to visit for any cheese fan! The choice was amazing and the cheese dishes we choose were delicious. Do book if you plan to visit as they were turning people away at lunchtime ok a Sunday when we visited.
Cheese was delightful, but service was average. Booked a table and asked to sit at the bar, but those spots were 'all reserved'. Seats still vacant when we left. Service wasn't great either as it took quite a bit of time for us to get some attention from wait staff. Probably wont be rushing back.
Really nice atmosphere, great service, great food, maybe the portions are a bit small but that depends on you. A bit pricy but nothing scandalous. Overall good experience. Would do again.
Fantastic place. Brilliant food. I thought maybe if the place was a bit bigger but I cannot fault anything else. The food is worth it all.
