The Cheese Bar
We work closely with our producers, sourcing all our cheese direct from UK-based farms that are making cheese in a traditional & thoughtful way.
We had to wait 45 minutes for the card machine to work - and as soon as it worked they used the card machine for other guests first who had only been waiting 5 minutes, which was really rude and to be honest not very apologetic/sympathetic that we had been waiting there for ages.
The food is always amazing!!!! And I’m they made our weekend every special as it was our 1 year anniversary and they gave us a free glass of Prosecco and an amazing Desert for free! Thanks so much we loveeeee cheese!!!
Very friendly. Very good cheese
Different and enjoyable.
My friend and I are both quite addicted to cheese so we shared the fondue and were really happy with the food and the service.
Food was really good, cheese lovers paradise. But the staff were almost trying to avoid you when you wanted to order something and one woman in particular looked at you with contempt whenever you wanted to order another drink. Cocktails were very good though!
There were four of us that went on a Friday night, and had a very good time. I had the mozzarella sticks and the five cheese macaroni, and both were exceptionally good. The mozzarella sticks have a nice crunch on the outside while being very stringy on the inside. The macaroni is spot on. I'll have it again the next time I go. The service was great and even though the restaurant was full, it wasn't too loud.
If you're a lover of cheese then I think it's a great place to go. Some really good dishes with great tasting cheese.
Tasty goats cheese toastie and cool setting , will return to try more of the menu
This was my second visit to the Cheese Bar, and yet again I was not disappointed! The menu did seem smaller than the last time I visited, and as Vegetarians we didn't have the most choice, but everything we did have was just fantastic, and it wouldn't stop me visiting again!
Booked her for a girls day out lunch. The whole set up was great, had originally booked a high top bar but staff asked if we would prefer to sit at the bar next to each other rather than across from each other.
Service was great, food was amazing, staff were knowledgable and the whole experience is definately recommended.
The only down point that I have is that when we sat down we were informed we had 1 1/2 hours. This made us feel a little rushed and a bit “oh.... erm.... ok!”
Tucked away in Camden is this little gem. My husband and and I ordered the mozzarella sticks as a starter and were not disappointed, the 5 cheese macaroni was delicious and served the just right amount. The bar staff were very entertaining and friendly and introduced us to their cheese van Archie. They also gave us a glass of bubbly each as it was our anniversary. Overall a fantastic find and I would definitely reccomend it to anyone who has a love for cheese.
Fun and good atmosphere. The food was fine, but didn’t quite live up to the hype.
A cheese lovers delight. Great location, friendly staff and a small but excellent menu. The cheesy puffs come highly recommended and the 5 cheese mac is to die for. We sat at the bar which was fun. Not a place to linger in but simply enjoy and savour every cheesy moment.
Disgusting service and dishes come incredibly small. I ordered a salad which came no bigger than a pea. The hazelnuts were missed out and I had to ask for them. Waiter told me apparently salad is meant to be a lighter dish but charge £12 on the menu. Staff are not friendly nor responsive. Would not recommend anyone going ever
Prices are around what I would expect in London, service was great, staff were friendly. They asked about allergies and were attentive. Food was of great quality and didn't feel rushed
Cheesy as you like!
Now I absolutely love cheese, it’s my favourite food group. So this was an obvious choice for me. Lovely set up with loads of cheese based items on the menu. We had a cracking fondue, mac n cheese and grilled cheese sandwich, none of which were too rich, just right. The list of British cheeses looked superb. I’ll have to keep returning to try everything. Our french host (I think Max?) was superbly entertaining.
You really must go.
OMG!!! This was the most amazing cheesy experience. I had the blue cheese grilled sandwich (which is soooo much more than it sounds!) and my wife had the Cheesy truffle chips, we both had mozzarella dippers to start.
I ate my sandwich so slowly in tiny bites because I didn't want it to end! The dip that went with it made it out of this world. Would recommend it and will definitely be going back :)
Ok for a one off visit, quite unusual and quirky menu. Cheesy truffle chips good but types of cheese available not up to list on wall. Background music far too loud, made conversation impossible. Ok level for club, but not for dining. No onsite toilet and only one key available for communal toilets a short walk away.
Awesome cheese. Lovely staff. Very hot restaurant. Shared toilet you need a key for which is a bit grim.
Amazing service, great atmosphere and the food is to die for. A must for cheese lovers A***
Really great experience - would highly recommend. Food was delicious.
Great food. Very hot inside, only one waitress seemed to do anything (make cocktails take orders).
Great, speedy service, fabulous food, ate myself into a contented cheese coma. Would recommend to anyone who loves all things cheesy!!
Very enjoyable evening and lovely little venue. Only criticism is that the staff had to squeeze past on occassion to get from the bar to the kitchen.
A brilliantly cheesy experience. Loved the food! And the atmosphere inside the restaurant.
We had a really positive experience and felt well looked after by the staff. Food was delicious. Would come again
It was nice to eat outside as the weather was good on this day. The service was nice and we enjoyed various very cheesy food: it is better to share all plates.
a family get together to explore camden. We knew it was about the cheese and chose to have a range of starters and mains in a tapas style This was a good cal as we got to try a little of most dishes The cheese puffs were my favourite the macaroni cheese and the raclette were best for others. The ciders were a good choice to drink.
Staff friendly and efficient clean. ambience was casual and friendly and we could chat and hear each other.
An experience restaurant rather than a repeater but would recommend
I had made a booking a couple weeks in advance. We arrived on time, the table wasn't ready. We waited for a couple minutes. Finally seated, ordered our starters which took a WHILE to arrive and one of the mozzarella sticks (of a portion of 3) was TINY in comparison with the others (shouldn't even have come out of the kitchen, so thin and burned it was). The Angloumi, one of the reasons we went there for, wasn't available. We placed other orders, each one taking quite some time to arrive, and at some point the waitress said we couldn't order what we wanted because we had to VACATE THE TABLE in 30min, and that dish would take longer than that to be prepared. She said that my booking was for only 1h30, but when I had called to make the booking no one warned me of that. It was my birthday, I had friends over, and if I knew I'd be rushed out of the place, not even being able to have 2 out of the few dishes I wanted to try, I would have booked another place to go. I do not recommend: is an overpriced tourist trap, you can do better at home as it's just cheese anyway.
Service was a dismal. Food was horrible. Wouldn't go again.
Fantastic food and service every time!
If you love cheese this place is a must!!! We went twice in 3 days it was that good.
If you love cheese and a good vibe, this is the place for you.
Great little bar but wouldn’t like to turn up without having booked as very busy. Good choice if all things cheesy on menu. Very pleasant and knowledgable service. Great atmosphere and decent music not too loud.
Great experience. I’ve come here before. Service was great. Fantastic menu and food. Lovely touch of adding a candle to my daughters desert for her birthday. Thanks.
Loved it. The fondue was amazing and so was the bread from Devon.
This is a little oasis amidst the bustle of Camden. Friendly service but above all delicious dishes. I could eat the cheese puffs all day every day!
Average service; food was not very tasty and more expensive than it’s worth; noisy place and uncomfortable chairs. Wouldn’t recommend.
Great food but we ordered a bit too much so didn’t finish. Good service and friendly staff. I sensed if it was busier it may not have been the case, but we were able to sit outside even though we booked a table top which was great. Only downside was the toilets which are the public paid toilets in Camden market that were really grim but didn’t spoil the experience in a massive way.
Reasonable amount of choice available at a reasonable price. It is entirely possible to over order however and that is something that should be avoided. The experience is lacking a little finesse i.e. the loos are off-site and need to be accessed by a pass kept by the waiting staff. Overall it was a good experience, but not a restaurant I can envision myself going back to time and time again.
