The Chateau in Braintree serves diners classic Italian cuisine in a casual and friendly setting. The restaurant has an extensive menu that offers dishes to please meat-eaters as well as vegetarians. Appetizers include items such as toasted ravioli, meatballs and ricotta and fried or Rhode Island style calamari. My parents would take us often to Chateau and we decided to go recently. Probably haven't been in 5 years. Food portions were smaller and way more expensive. Food seemed more run of the mill and more like an Olive Garden chain. Sort of disappointing. In the past I would have given 4 or 5 stars, but not any more.

I go to the Chateau often but yesterday was the first time alone and I was treated very well considering how busy they were. The food,service and the greeting were all the same excellent!!!!

I like the food, but wish it was warmer. Food seems to cool off very quickly.

We had ordered the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and they were not heated all the way through the center was still hard cheese and not melted. We had also ordered a large cheese pizza to be cooked well done and it was not. Please note I didn’t ask to send anything back. We just dealt with it at the time.
