Nice atmosphere, excellent service and food quality. A little pricy.
We love this place! But sitting up in the upstairs rooms can be very loud in an old house and this is the second time that we’ve been upstairs and still very loud.So for future reservations I made a comment that I do not want to be seated upstairs. When the weather is good outdoors is lovely.
I absolutely loved my experience. Our waitress was kind and attentive. The only gripe was with the maitre d , with whom I found cold and not gracious at all. Other than him. We loved our experience and will return. Bravo!
Disappointingly underwhelmed is how I describe evening and the Charleston. Aside from the piano playing common movie theme songs the atmosphere was quaint and close. The lobster Mac and cheese was good but not fantastic but the mushroom risotto was excellent.
Our server Natalie was great and handled thing like a pro when it went off the rails. The supposedly medium rare rib-eye came very rare with a cool red center. We sent it back. The chef told Natalie to tell us that it was medium rare and we were wrong. So we asked for medium. And it came over done. The chef just put it back on the grill instead of making a new one so it was tasteless and charred. We were not asked if we wanted to see a manager nor did one show up.
All in all it was an ok experience with ok food, but we would not go back. We were under the impression this would be fine dining and were very disappointed; especially during these times when going out to a nice dinner is supposed to be a treat.
This place is romantic and amazing. The waitress recommended amazing dishes and the cheese platter was so good.
The Charleston is my favorite restaurant!! You always know it will be perfect. The atmosphere, food always exceeds my expectations, service is top notch!! We have always been treated so well. It’s like a safe haven and especially during these times!
Thank you The Charleston!!
Great restaurant. Food is solid. Portions are pretty small. Price is pretty high. We were put at a table that feels like it's almost in the hallway and they kept the door open for some reason. It was cold out. We kept our winter coats on the entire time. Steak and salmon were excellent. Our salad was a lemon vinaigrette. Flavor was good, presentation so so. Looked like some lettuce boats from costco with a couple tomatoes. For the price, it fell flat. Overall, 7/10. I'd go back in the summer for the ambience for sure.
Wonderful ambiance and service, only bested by the food!
We sat by the loudest group of 4 people. It ruined our entire experience.
Great food, friendly wait staff, weather allowed outdoor dining
This was our first time, and we kind of expected a little bit more. Even though I requested a window table, we were put in a small "back room" with some guests that were a little bit "excited" and noisy. Main dish took a while, although I did enjoy mine, Gaucho Steak, my husband was not impress with his Beef Bourguignon (hardly any meat in it) Service was average. In my opinion, outside dinning would probably be a better experience, (ambience) unfortunately that will be more suitable during the Summer months.
Always an enjoyable place for lunch. Wonderful food, best Reuben I've ever had. Try the bread pudding!
Ahhhh, what a treat! The experience reaffirmed my feeling that The Charleston is the best restaurant in SLC. Chef Marco and team do an amazing job of creating a memorable experience!
Birthday dinner with friends
Delicious food! Fantastic service! Will be back soon :)
Nice to still be able to dine outside. Later in the evening, it got cool without heaters . Great service.
I had very high expectations about this restaurant, for sure ambiance was amazing, I was surprised after ordering that everything was served at the same tima, thangs god I didn’t order desert... we were rushing to eat the entrees and I asked the server to ask the kitchen to warm up our appetizer wath should be the first dish but because they serve all at the same time we were worked the entrees to get cold ( -also because they are the most expendive ....anyways after couple minutes they asked us if we wanted the check (with more than 1/2 bottle ofCadmus Cabernet Sauvignon opened ... everything just feel Rsl rushed , also I make a note was our anniversary and they even noticed... so sad that I was crying for at least 3 hours , insane ! Because food is amazing and ambiance is so charming and romantic ... I didn’t have time to take pics , that’s how I was feeling rushing ...,
I ordered the Tomahawk Steak, I know my way around a grill/smoker, this was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had!
Everything we have tried, we have loved, we have never had a bad meal or experience at The Charleston.
Thank you again Chef for an amazing experience.
IMe and my friends had a great experience. Food, setting, service: everything was great!
This was my first time to the Charleston and it won't be my last. The ambiance was excellent, the service was professional and not overbearing, the courses came out perfectly and were excellent. I literally cannot say enough good about this restaurant. I am so pleased to have tried it and will be back many times is my prediction. It's my new favorite in the Salt Lake Valley.
The food was amazing, was disappointed you did not offer bread or rolls with dinner
Great place! This was our first time and we were more than impressed. The food was great and the setting was very quite and tranquil. We plan on going back.
A charming place where one can eat delectable dishes by candlelight. Romantics will swoon for a reservation.
We love the Charleston Draper!!!! The food is amazing, the atmosphere and ambiance is excellent, and the new patio space outside is awesome! Go now while it’s still nice out!
Food was fantastic... unfortunately the service was slow and unorganized. We waited over 10 minutes to be seated - or even acknowledged. Hostess was running around serving tables while we waited to be seated. Our server disappeared for an extended period of time. Finally the bar tender who was fantastic, came over to our table and took our drink orders. It was obvious the restaurant was under staffed and very chaotic the night we dined at your restaurant. But, the food was delicious😀
Saturday brunch on the lawn was exceptional! My daughter and I enjoyed every bit and the Eggs Benedict was delicious!
Great food, exceptional service and an elegant live pianist setting the mood. Great evening.
Love this place!Always lose track of time when I’m here:) The only thing I wish they had a bigger parking lot, hard to find a spot
Wonderful Ambience. The food was just okay for the price point.
Have been going to the Charleston since it opened. They never stop making our dining out a joy.
Besides the host not knowing what was going on guessing it was his first day?
Then we asked to sit inside since it was a bit chilly outside. He went in and said "The chef said no open toe shows and need formal attire".
I was in a polo shirt and nice levis, my guest was in a nice blouse, dress pants and open toed sandals. Maybe we needed a tuxedo and my guest needed to wear a formal dress for brunch? Even Grand America doesn't require that for brunch.
Server didn't seem to know what was on the menu, he went on to mention a few specials that I wanted to see all ingredients on the menu and couldn't seem to find them. Asked him "do we need a different menu?" He came back and apologized that the menu had changed.
Other than being disrespected at the beginning for not be formally dressed, and having a server that had no clue on what was being served the food was outstanding. Amazing tasting breakfast!
For sure will be back.
Perfect outdoor experience for our birthday experience!
The food and ambiance was excellent. Dessert list was not at the same level as the mains and apps but quality was there.
The Charleston never disappoints! I have been there for dinner and brunch and have had an amazing experience each time.
The food was fantastic. My wife had the salmon and I had the filet mignon. Both were delicious and melt in you mouth. Chef Marco stop by our table and greeted us since we were first time guest. Going back again to have the famous bread pudding.
It's so cozy and very clean and feels new! I love going there, food was also great of course!
Overall a good dining experience. Food was creative and well prepared. Our server was very good. One concern...the hostess tried to cram us into a porch table very close to another fully occupied table. There were 8-10 tables open outside so had to ask for a more comfortable and spaced out table.
The new patio in the front yard is great addition. The service was as attentive yet subtle as always
This is great fine dining, a little more expensive then some but great service and good wine list
