Wow!! We had one of our favorite restaurants close, which was more upsetting than I would have imagined, but we came upon this gem and I was elated!! This has got to be the best patio setting in Utah....gorgeous!! The old house the restaurant is in is so quaint and charming. The cocktails are creative and lovely. The appetizer we had was one of my favorite things ever trying....have the baked brie if you go. To top it all of, the entrees were fantastic. Our server was so cute and kind and on top of things! Great evening for us. We will most def be going back!!

A lovely gem hidden in the outskirts of Draper. Wonderful "low country" feel to the outside seating. Excellent service and good advice. Each dish was excellent. The gazpacho was a treat and the peach caprese salad was wonderful. The ratatouille was a vegetarian delight. The creamy filet was prepared perfectly. Of course, the highlight of the evening was the croissant bread pudding.

Very nice ambience. We ate outside on a perfect summer evening in September. Temperature was perfect and tables weren't squished together. Food/drinks/appetizers were all good though a bit pricey. I would share a soup and appetizer and not go crazy on the entree to leave room for desert. We had the bread pudding a la mode and it was very good. If you are looking for a nice evening or special date night out, I would definitely recommend.

Our first visit to The Charleston was wonderful. We had a few issues with parking upon arrival, but quickly got it figured out. We were greeted by Marco who was somewhat dismissive and cold and seemed a little put out by us and subsequent groups who arrived. The outside patio is gorgeous. Even though it is on a somewhat busy street, it is very charming, romantic and quiet. Indy was a fantastic server. Very attentive and helpful with menu choices. We started with the artichoke dip, baked brie and peach caprese. All were delicious, other than the artichoke dip only had a few toasts and we were charged extra when we requested more. For entrees we had the Brazilian fish stew, Chef's spaghetti, Thai halibut and Coc Au Vin Blanc. All were cooked perfectly and we were each happy with our choice. We were presented with a birthday dessert (the croissant bread pudding) and also ordered the peach crumble and chocolate mousse. Highly recommend ending meal with any of these or all three!

Such an amazing night celebrating my anniversary. The drinks were amazing, the food was incredible, and the environment was classy and calm. I ordered the Tomahawk and it was so good. I had never had a tomahawk before and so I went for it. It was cooked to perfection and I had enough food to share with my boyfriend. He got the halibut and said it was amazing as well (I am allergic or I would have tried it). Definitely would recommend booking a table here if you’re able to.

We ordered the baked brie and artichoke souffle appetizers, and they were both amazing. Our entrees were the gaucho steak with shrimp, Coq au vin blanc and the Red crab burrata penne. I've never had such incredible shrimp. I could've eaten a full entrée of just those. The steak was very flavorful and tender. My companions also enjoyed their meals. For dessert, we had the rice pudding, creme brulee and passion fruit mousse. I wasn't a fan of the rice pudding, but the other desserts tasted delicious. I was a little disappointed in my drink, as it was more ice than anything else. For the price point, I expected better. Despite noting that we were celebrating an anniversary, there was no acknowledgment of it, and we were seated on the side of the restaurant in a less desirable location. We would have much rather been seated in front, near the fountain or somewhere where we could have at least enjoyed the music. This was the only real downside to the visit. To be fair, we didn't say anything to give them an opportunity to move us; and the side, although quiet, is not horrible. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Exceptional start to finish. This is a well oiled machine. You walk up and are immediately greeted by , in my opinion, one of the best patios in the valley, with a beautiful historic building. The service was very professional, high quality, and we were never left wanting for anything. The food…omg the food. I was there with my grandparents and Mom for my birthday dinner, and there was not a single bit of food left on any one of the plates, appetizer or entrée. The three of them got the salmon for an entrée, perfectly cooked, and buttery smooth, same for my scallops, an absolute revelation! I started with the ceviche, and it was some of the best ceviche I’ve had in a long time. The owner was not only present, but extremely personable, and when my grandfather asked for a history of the building, he more than delivered and also explain his improvements to the property which were extensive. I worked as a line cook in fine dining establishments in Utah in New York for a combined total of about 6 years, and a restaurant never functions this well, if the owner is not consistently present, but also extremely personally invested, which it was more than clear that he was, to the nines. It is expensive, but this is the total package: Ambiance, Service, Presentation, Flavors. The cocktails were also excellent. The Charleston is an Experience, not just a dinner. I felt like I could’ve been in Paris or Florence (been to both). I assure you I do not work for this restaurant and I have never been there before last night but again because of my experience in restaurants, I notice the little details and I am exceptionally pleased when things operate like the Charleston does. This review may seem over the top, but in my opinion, it is all well earned. Bravo!

Call ahead for reservations, if you want to be sure to get seated. We had 7 P.M. reservations during an evening in August. Eating out under the trees was serene. Plus, the boys in black attire worked tirelessly at keeping the ginormous umbrellas angled and aligned, to provide maximum shade. We opted for VOSS water. The Bruschetta on crostinis was a light and delicious appetizer, (we debated between this and the artichoke dip, which sounded SO good as well....) and we dined on the Cognac Filet Mignon (Delicious-- definitely a top-choice if you like melt-in-your mouth filet and mushrooms;) and the Chef's Special: a pan-seared halibut with crab and asparagus on top. Light and yummy. Too full to try desserts this evening, but they looked beautiful. Such a gem, right here in Draper. Plan to go more often-- making a reservation in advance for a relaxing date night, convenient & accessible.

The owner chef greeted us and was immediately rude. It was our anniversary, and we had made a reservation online and expected to be seated inside. He rudely told us that what we had selected was outside even though one selection when we signed up said outside, and the other said standard. We eventually were seated inside, and, the chef was constantly yelling at his staff and ruined the ambience and our anniversary dinner. The food was OK but nothing to be excited about. From the time that our food was served, there was a fly constantly buzzing around us, and the temperature was so cold, that we could hardly feel our feet, due to the AC vent being right under our table. There were many open tables, but we complained about the temperature and were offered no other seating. This experience was extremely disappointing and we will not return nor suggest it to anyone else.

What a beautiful addition to Draper. This is an incredible, fine dining experience. The food was superb. Perhaps the best food I've had in recent years. The details didn't go unnoticed, an edible flower in a frozen ice ball. The food was plated very nicely. maybe my only complaint, was for this price point, maybe some bread at the table to enjoy? Everything was Alacarte

We had a reservation at 7:00 pm for two, when we did arrive the host stand was set up outside in the outdoor dining area, there weee two couples seated waiting for their tables to be ready. However the host was nowhere to be seen, after standing and waiting about five minutes he made an appearance and asked to give him a moment while he seated one of the two couples already waiting. After doing that it was another five minutes of him disappearing before returning to the host stand to take our name for the reservation and to inform that they were getting our table ready. A mild annoyance as by this time there were ten people lined up behind us waiting as well. I don’t know the process of getting people, reservations or not, in and seated, but I give him some grace as they could have been short staffed and he was trying to manage everything. Regardless of the delay we were seated, all areas of the outdoor seating are very lovey and quiet. One bonus for the dining hours is that there is no children under 12. So naturally the sound ambiance stays at low key level. We ordered the Ceviche, wry flavorful and the fish was flavored perfectly, none of the different flavors overwhelmed the other. For entree my wife ordered the Peach Caprese salad, and I opted for the Penne in a rich cream sauce with crab. My wife enjoyed her salad, my pasta was good ale dente, though unfortunately at times a bit bland perhaps the cheese cut down on some of the flavor of cream sauce, there was no salt provided on the table, the Cabernet wine paired with it well enough that I was still able to enjoy it. Wife approved of the crème brûlée for dessert, as I'm not a big dessert person, they were out of espresso so I wasn’t able to finish the meal with an americano. I’d recommend this establishment as it has a great setting and ambiance, our waitress was helpful, they have a good drink selection, my wife had the watermelon mojito. We’ll come back to try other items.

Disappointing meal. I ordered the Brie appetizer which came with a large amount of Brie but not enough crostinis. When I asked if we could have some more to finish the Brie, I was told it would cost extra. I also ordered a special watermelon salad which was not delivered until I asked about it after I had finished my entree. I thought it might be a good dessert, but I was wrong. It just wasn’t good. My halibut was delicious, but for the prices they are charging, I would expect more. I brought an out of town visitor and I was embarrassed.

Okay, I generally don't write reviews, but felt like my recent experience coming here on a whim with my wife was worth sharing for others. It has only outdoor seating - which is absolutely no problem as they have large umbrellas and it has lots of trees. The area is very beautiful and with constructions the road was very quiet luckily. We were seated in an area meant for two people mostly and there was a wall of umbrellas across from us blocking the sun. Our server comes and was good - food and drinks were good. Then as we were finishing there was another couple near us talking about celebrating a new job one had gotten - so they were gonna buy fancy wine with their server. She goes to get the wine and when she comes back to their table - she decides they are being hit slightly by the sun through two umbrellas. She then called for assistance to fix this - and literally removed the umbrella we had blocking the sun on us to block out the sliver of sun for the people buying expensive wine. The server also said she was hoping to get a new job and was going to hear back soon because "she has to get out of here". So I guess other servers be warned? The server, expensive wine guests, and assistant kept saying "oh yeah that's better" and I kept saying "maybe for you but not for us" to which they seemed to just ignore (even to the chagrin and chuckle of other parties so I know they could hear). So now sitting the sun waiting for the check to be handled etc. we decide to just pay up front instead of bake. We brought this up to the front desk - and the owner was manning this station. We told him and he immediately attempted to confront all of the people and get the story directly with us there as if my job is to confront and explain to them. I ended up just giving him the check - and honestly I fully expected some kind of something being knocked off the bill etc. nope full charge. That simple act could have probably made it possible for me to return - but it seems this

Randy Massey, I spoke with you before you left and we apologize for the inconvenience about your wife had a little sun on her arms. We can control the sun. Everyone was very polite to you both as you mention to me in person before you left my restaurant. you had a great service and great food as your wife mention to me. In this case honestly it is not anything to be knocked off the bill.

This place was very upscale, boutique, and classy, but it thought too much of itself. The owner met me at the door and told me that my sandals were "flip flops" and not allowed in the restaurant. He had nothing else to offer me to wear, so told me he could seat me on the porch. I had driven over an hour to get there so didn't really have the option to go home and change my shoes. I do appreciate a dress code, but as I booked through Open Table, I did not see it, and also felt that I was dressed nicely for dinner. I think a dress code is appropriate for upscale restaurants, but I think also that if you want to be classy, you do it in a way that doesn't embarrass the guests who may have not known or come unprepared. The French Laundry has a closet full of jackets for the occasional patron who shows up unprepared for their dress code. Lucky for us, the night was lovely and many of the patrons ended up being seated outside anyway. The food was very good with many different types of dishes. My date felt that it was a little too "fancy shmancy" for him and had a hard time choosing but ultimately went with a delicious steak. I had the Thai Halibut which I enjoyed but thought was a little tough on the outside. Service was generally good, but since we were seated off the beaten path, it took us a bit to find someone when we were ready for the bill. Overall, I enjoyed the place and the ambiance and the food, but I think if the restaurant wants to be what it thinks it is, it still has some adjustments to make.

Another amazing experience. Love their sangria and patio dining. Just gorgeous. To our surprise there were fireworks at the park across the street. We had a perfect view. Magical.

Only issue I have is no French Baguette or any table bread. Marco’s sauces are succulent. Need bread to soaked up the remaining sauce. Not to be. I result in “drinking” the sauces aside from my wife’s total displeasure.
