Outstanding food and good service! I sat at the bar. Very relaxing.
Wow, what an unexpected and plesent surprise. Housed in the basement of a hotel blocks from Tulsa's nominal downtown, you would not expect much and you'd be wrong. Wife and I had a terrific meal, beef wellington, house specialty, and beef shotr ribs, both terrific. place is small and serivce is intimate. Basement location is peculliar, but they make it work. Worth the trip downtown.
We were in town going to see Blake Shelton and wanted some where close to eat and found this place. At first i thought it was going to be to fancy but turned out to be a great place, loved the food and the atmosphere, the people we're great And very friendly i made our reservation on line 10 min before they opened and got right in. One of the best parts about this place is it offers a trolley that took us back and forth to the concert so we didn't have to fight the crowed looking for a parking spot they dropped us off right by the door and picked us up right after didn't Have to wait long... i highly recommend you try this place out..
Excellent experience. High quality food, excellent presentation, with great service.
This has got to be the best restaurant in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The menu is creative and offers something for any pallet and any taste. The service and preparation is first class. It's a great find for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or just looking for delicious creative cuisine.
Excellent food and service.
I was hoping and expecting a 5-star experience but was disappointed. We found The Chalkboard via Trip Advisor and chose it for its top ratings in Tulsa. We took some friends who were visiting us.
I had the Beef Wellington because it was suggested by our waiter as their most popular dish and what they are known for. The pastry was tough and thin. The pate was not noticeable. The beef was medium rare but not tender. I requested the mashed potatoes be exchanged for roasted small potatoes and butternut squash. They tasted as if they were pre-cooked and then warmed up.
The Caprese salad had a small piece of basil about 1.5 inches long...about 1/3 the basil needed for that size salad. Nothing notable or special.
We had the Espresso Creme Brulee. The top layer was an espresso gel substance instead of the burnt sugar signature texture. The Creme Brulee itself was cold. Our friends tried the bread pudding and it was nothing special.
The service was excellent.
I would not recommend The Chalkboard.
Excellent dinner and wine list. Service was outstanding, meals were phenomenal with small adjustments for a vegan. Great variety to choose from on the menu, well presented with flavors to delight any taste. Thank you for a great evening.
Mediocre with high value prices!
Food was horrible
The food tasted amazing and we had fantastic service. Waiters were very friendly and easy going. Not sure it deserved the price tag associated with the menu items. Ordered two appetizers and our meals (with one other person), and left satisfied with nothing left on any plates. Great date place.
Great cozy, comfortable place to dine. Great service and great food and wine/ cocktails!
I’m never disappointed when we dine at the Chalkboard!
As usual I wasn't disappointed but proud that my friends had a lovely dinner.
I wanted to eat more of the acorn squash bowl that my vegan chili came in so I would have cooking it longer. Everything was great and the local flavor excellent. We’ll be back.
Returned to the Chalkboard to celebrate our 31st anniversary at the restaurant where we had our first date. The bruschetta was just right and the swordfish was well-prepared and imaginatively presented. Nice wine list. The crowd was a little noisy and casual for a fine dining experience, but that is coming from an old guy who still thinks dinner in a white-tablecloth restaurant is a special event.
The Chalkboard never disappoints. Their menu is varied by season enough that we can return again and again without getting bored. There are also some classics that always please, like the Beef Wellington. As usual, everything was perfectly cooked, service was excellent and you just can't beat the ambiance. The staff is attentive but not annoying. We also enjoyed our perfectly mixed drinks. There's not a better place to eat in Tulsa.
Very good dinner with special group. Food was excellent (pork chops, duck, and salmon special were all well prepared and tasty. Soup was a creamy sausage and kale and was excellent. Attentive service and lively atmosphere. Limited but good wine menu.
Literally the best steak I've had in my life. No exaggeration. I love meat, but I didn't realize it could be THAT good. I highly recommend the Beef Wellington (they say it's their signature dish). The steak was almost as tender as the mashed potatoes it was sitting on top of.
The cheese platter was also pretty darn incredible. As was the wine.
I can tell they are big on serving food with "opposite" flavors on the plate. Sweet to complement savory, etc. As a result, I really experienced a lot of creative flavors I've never experienced before.
It was also literally the most expensive meal I've paid for in my life. Though I will remember the way that steak tasted for years to come.
Delicious dinner and fabulous service! Wonderful experience overall!
We went here because of OpenTable and we were not disappointed. The cheese steak sandwich was very good as was the hamburger. Great little find!
The food presentation was beautiful and it was delicious. The only issue we had was 3 or 4 plates were cold when we received them.
Unfortunately, cant give a good review...Service was slow and took forever to get drinks and food (with the exception of the appetizer). After we ordered (4 people ordered steaks), we were informed they only had two steaks left...Wow, this was a Monday night and we were literally the only table in the restaurant... food came out lukewarm.
I am sure they can do better and am sure it wasn't their best effort... Disappointing
This restaurant was quite and quant. It is a hidden treasure that we will be sure to return to. The staff was extremely educated on the menu as well as offered great recommendations.
Relatively small and quiet. The service was excellent and the food, although not cheap, was excellent. Delicious bread with an herb butter before the meal. Lamb lollipops (small lamb chops) for an appetizer and they were awesome. My wife had Beef Wellington which was fabulous. I had the filet, also delicious. Their beef is all Prime Plus so top quality. Had a dessert of lemon creme, vanilla creme, with a few berries and some meringue crumbles. We nearly licked the plate it was so good.
We went for my wifes birthday with her brother's family. We were very disappointed in the meal. My wife had the Beef Wellington, crust was soggy and undone, meat was prepared as she had requested but the sause tasted like ketchup with a little meat juce in it. I had the short rib(1) it was not tender, hard to chew, it came with gnochi(sp) which was raw dough and very gubby. This meal was only $123.00. We told the waitress but no adjustment was offered or given. Can't recommend. It was a Tuesday evening so maybe the kitchen was not their top tier but still not a good experiece.
I have been to the Chalkboard several times was never disappointed until this visit. Food was not of the usual quality nor was the service. Will probably give them another chance?
The menu is wonderful! The beef Wellington and crab cakes are outstanding the and service is divine. They make it feel like an upscale neighborhood spot.
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Tulsa, but it did not measure up this time. The food was unflavorful and quite ordinary.
Food cooked as requested. Waiter was outstanding. Great for special occasions.
The food was outstanding! Service was great.
Birthday dinner for the 24 year old. Excellent food and service!
