   Had heard so much about this place, but in between booking and our reservation there has apparently been a change in chef. He possibly worked at McDonalds previously, as the menu was effectively chicken nuggets and burgers. Cocktails were also appalling, worst mojito I've ever had, no mint or muddling going on. Overall very disappointed, might as well have gone to Wearhersoons and paid half as much.

   There needs to be a big improvement to the menu here. There were four burger main meals on the menu. Nothing else was offered. My partner and I were out for the evening. We were very disappointed with the lack of choice. There was no menu other than what was displayed on a laptop! It even took 45 minutes to be served the olives starter! When the food came we had to wait for the cutlery. Not a good Friday night out really.

   Fantastic food. My mum commented that it was the best lamb she had tasted. I have eaten in a few Michelin star restaurants and the food is on a parity. Nice, small intimate environment. How lucky that The Chain House is within walking distance!

   Delicious Sunday lunch with great service. Fantastic vegan option; mushroom and almond parcel with roasted parsnips, potatoes, pea purée, greens and gravy. Yum! The dessert option was excellent too; chocolate ganache with granola and raspberries. It was great to have such fantastic plant based options. Good value for money too, we’ll definitely be back!

   Amazing Sunday lunch. One of the best roasts I’ve ever had. The beef was cooked to perfection, in fact it all was really!

   We had a fantastic Sunday dinner, great service and quality of food, just the right proportions so that you’re able to enjoy without having to turn it away. Really recommend this place 😊😊

    This was a superb dining experience. The food was the best I have eaten in South Wales for a long time. It's a lovely, friendly and relaxed environment with just about twenty covers. If you enjoy great cooking of beautiful ingredients you must go!
