   The food was terrible. One pasta dish came out,cold and dry from sitting around too long before being served. They had one server for the whole dining room. Needless to say, the service was bad. Won’t be going back.

   We went to Frederick to see the boat display along Caroll Creek, so wanted to eat somewhere downtown. Found the cutest spot not far from the boat display. We parked in the garage near the courthouse and walked maybe 2 blocks to the Cellar Door. It’s underneath a very cute furniture store, right on the corner. We were greeted warmly and seated right away. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and kind. Had burgers for dinner and they were perfectly cooked. Not fancy, but just what we needed. Would definitely go there again!

   Solid place overall. The prices were decent and the food was flavorful. My fiancé and I split the crab dip as an appetizer($20 but they gave you a really good portion). Although, half of the French baguette that it came with was noticeably old, hard, and stale… when I asked if I could get a side that’s fresher, the server looked at me like I had 5 heads and said she would have to check with the chef. After she came back, she tried to tell that me the Chef essentially said no and I’m pretty sure I stopped listening when I got the gist. I went on to re-explain that one of the loaf was perfect, warm, soft, and enjoyable but the other half was not and that I needed more of the fresh bread. It wasn’t until then she said “alright let me see what I can do”. I thought it was a bizarre experience and I almost didn’t include in this review but I figured that it might show the level of service. I’m pretty sure our server doubled as the bartender so I’m just going to chalk it up to her not knowing the ins and outs of serving and the relationship with the kitchen but I would suggest trying to get a table more in the dining area to have an actual server. Anyway, we got the salmon and the chicken entrees and, again, I thought it was very flavorful (maybe a little too much salt on the chicken) and decently priced. We got a bottle of Pino Noir for $40 but it was average. I’d probably come back for a casual lunch or to have a few beers but probably not for dinner service.

    I made a reservation on Open Table for a family party of 8. When I showed up to the restaurant, the were closed for a private party. Not only did they not close down the online booking, they didn’t call to tell me in advance. I called the restaurant and they said “we closed down online reservations, but feel free to come back at 9 for a DJ.” 😒 Beware making reservations for Cellar Door online.

    The service left much to be desired. In short, we arrived and were seated for our 11:45 reservation; our food arrived at our table at 12:40. Never an explanation or apology for the delay. There was a large group (about 12 people) seated when we arrived. We figured our order was caught behind theirs. Nope. Our food came before theirs and they did t get served until about 10-15 minutes after us. When we were seated, we received the regular menu and didn’t get the brunch menu until we asked. The server didn’t write anything down; another server had to come back to ask for clarification on one order and another order didn’t come out as requested. There are brunch drink specials and we asked 2 servers about them; neither knew the answer and had to go check. We had to ask the 2nd one because the 1st one never returned with an answer. During our long wait, our water glasses were kept full. This is a kudos (a full water glass is the measure of good service for me). Generally, it was like they weren’t prepared for customers today. There’s a lot of competition for brunch in downtown Frederick and we’ll be trying another place on our next trip.

    We attended the comedy night last Sunday. The service was good and we enjoyed the show. The only complaint was my food. I ordered a cobb salad that was the worst I've ever seen. The lettuce was yellow, cucumber was old, and egg didn't look fresh. Even if the food was fresh, it was tiny and with very little protein. I complained and it was taken off the bill but I wanted to mention it because it was just not appropriate for any restaurant to serve something like that.

    The food was very good but the service took a long time. We had a different person come to our table each time and it took a while to be able to order, it felt like we were inconveniencing them just being there. We were going to order a second drink but no one came to ask us. Not going back here again.

    Ambiance was really good my boyfriend ordered decent food my fish meal tasted like watery skin with no meat. It was boyfriend 40th birthday so I was disappointed with my food. :(

    This was the first time I have dined in the evening at Cellar Door. Sunday brunch previously was at least 4 stars but this visit fell short of my expectations. We arrived on time at 6:15 and seated promptly. It was about 15 minutes to get our drinks. We ordered an appetizer (chips and salsa) which arrived 15 minutes later. We called the waitress over to order our entree while waiting for the appetizer. It was an hour after we arrived when we finally had our entree. Our food was fine but the lack of attention to our order caused my wife and daughter's food to have sauces and cheese on the entrees which were unwanted. The biggest struggle I observed was being short-staffed. There was only one waitress and one bartender who was also waiting tables. While the restaurant wasn't packed, it was filling up to about half capacity during the dinner hour. Our waitress was working hard to be as punctual as possible but the kitchen was causing service to be slow. I cannot say that I'll return to dine at Cellar Door for dinner again.

    Just an average place for brunch in Frederick. Food and menu were only fair. They don't really seem to go out of their way to be different and outstanding. Rather it seems that this is really meant to be just a bar with plenty of seating and that's where they're main focus is.

    Basically a large bar with mostly bar food on the menu. But tasty! Very good service, super friendly staff that felt like they took pride in the establishment.

    Our first time here from a Facebook recommendation. We had a blast and wasn’t expecting to enjoy 28 open mic comedians either! Jess did a great job attending to everyone there and we will definitely be back. Very well organized.

    Loved the comedians!!! There was a lady named lisa that was very obnoxious! Everyone tried to quiet her, she made me feel bad for all the comedians! Other than her the visit was great! Will come again! Hopefully she wont be there!

    Placed reservations for 2/6 at 12pm for brunch arrived at 11:45 restaurant was closed. Waited till 12pm still closed and appeared no one was inside. Discovered later that they did not open till 5pm on Sundays. This was not reflected on the open table app or on restaurants website. Both need to update their info.

    This place is a mess. We walked in and the noise was halfway to deafening. After being seated by a confused looking manager we did not see a server until getting up and asking for one at the bar. After managing to get orders in, the soup was brought out cold, the appetizers never appeared, and the entrees were tiny portions and not worth anything like what we paid for them. We left hungry at the end of the meal. Also, they seem to have forgotten to put alcohol in our cocktails. And whatever you do, don't order the crab dip or crab soup. They are both full of shell fragments and will cut up your mouth.

    Good food, not too expensive, but poor service in my experience. Got seated and ordered promptly, then sat around 45 minutes before they bothered to tell us there was a delay in our food and they had to thaw meat to cook for us. Offered a free appetizer, but that took another 20 minutes to come out, ended up coming out almost the same time as our entree. Overall food was good but nothing special, ambiance was fine but not as fancy as we expected, and service was poor.

    We waited 45 minutes for our entrees to come out. I had the cellar burger. Not that impressed. Thought there would be more grilled onions and mushrooms and blue cheese on it. The cheese steak was okay. When we paid our bill the waitress forgot to bring back the credit card we needed to ask for it back.

    When making a reservation it was requested to not be seated in a high traffic area and to be in a quieter location. The hostess apparently didn't read the notes and attempted to seek the group right in the main walkway. When asked for a better seating arrangement; the hostess placed our group directly underneath a speaker. Merely, 4 ft from the original table. It's a small space and the noise is deafening. There were speakers mounted right next to the tables that played loud music and even that was nothing compared to the loud conversation that echord throughout. One of the entrees was chicken, and it was undercooked. To the restaurant's credit, they remade the entire entree, however everyone else's food got cold while waiting.

    The service was very good. We were within the Happy Hour so the drink prices were great. The soups were excellent. However, the Impossible Burger was tasteless and mushy. The dessert was not good.

    Service was good. Food average, a little disappointing. The problem was that we were actually asked to leave as soon as we finished dinner, so that they could turn the table over to new customers. That's the first time I've experienced that, but it means it's the last time I'll be back to this restaurant.

    The food was good…not enough options on the brunch menu. The floor was disgustingly sticky. When that’s the first thing i encounter, it puts a pall on the rest of my visit. And there was no one to greet us for 3 min at the stand. Even though the place was empty.

    I should have paid more attention to the menu prior to booking our reservation. Only three entrées the rest was bar food style. I was looking for a more intimate “high end” evening with a cool atmosphere, but this ended up basically being a bar that I took my wife to on our anniversary. Before we even sat down my wife noted that the floor was very sticky and it bothered her all evening. The stereo system was very loud and made it difficult to have a conversation. It was also extremely cold and the low ceiling made it so the air was always blowing on you. All this said none of it was really the fault of the business and given different circumstances I would go there again and I see how the place defiantly could cater to a younger crowd (personally I’m 35). Instead of having a nice meal we settled for splitting some apps and had a few beers.

    None of the staff wore a mask!!! The appetizer took forever. The Buffalo chicken salad was with iceberg and overload of blue cheese. The brisket entree was like rubber and looked and tasted bad.

    We got there for an early meal and a drink and the ambiance was great. Real cellar feel. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The food was great, especially the shrimp appetizer, so good.

    Really disappointing. We were the only group in the restaurant on a Sunday at 12:30. It took over an hour for the first meal to come out, and then long pauses between the next set of meals. The food was ok, but the wait time was awful. Will not return.

    We were seated quickly but anything we asked for (drinks, menus, etc) took minimum 15-20 minutes to receive. We ordered our food, appetizer, and dessert all at once about 25 min into our seating. The appetizer took 2 hours to get to us, and our dinner 2 hours 45 minutes. The dessert came quickly and another 30 for the check. Our waters were always full but our cocktails empty at least 25 minutes before being checked on. It seemed like there was a problem in the kitchen since *no one* was getting their food. At least, when it came out it was hot and good quality.

    Place was packed on a Sat. Tables were pre-COVID distance apart. My watch warned me that noise level was above 90 db. Reservation 6:30. Sat at 6:45. Server first arrived 7:05 and had no fewer than 7 tables. Appetizer arrived 8:15. I mean, it was a lettuce wedge. Entree featured fishy-smelling rockfish, sautéed spinach, and scalloped potatoes that were molded and noticeably cold in the middle. Apple empanadas were good at least. Ladies’ room door is a beeline view down the bar, so close the door tightly, ladies! I will not be back.
