The Cedar Grille
The buffet was good many choices but ordering off menu was not recommended due to shortage of chefs
It was snowing so we stayed in. Pretty disappointing
Pasta was cold.
Made reservation for 5 people at 7:00 pm. Showed up on time. Restaurant (located inside Marriott Hotel) was not busy; two tables were occupied and a few people at the small bar. No one manning the host station; we waited … and waited… and watched help go by for a while looking quizzically at us. Finally, someone stopped and asked if they could help us. We said we had a reservation – which resulted in a look of surprise. Apparently they people don’t usually make reservations at Cedar Grille? They obviously weren’t expecting us, but found us a table.
Ordered drinks. Server was apologetic about the confusion, did his best to be attentive. Ordered food; two people in the party ordered a pasta entrée (rigatoni). Shortly after taking the order, the server returned and apologetically stated, “… it would be an extra 10-15 minutes” for the pasta dishes and did they want to order something different… because they’d receive their food after the rest of us. Odd that a simple pasta dish would present a problem; but they were willing to wait… and wait.
The other food came out about 20 minutes after ordering; not terrible, but not speedy. Those ordering past waited a total of about 35-40 minutes. OK… we were warned, but the worst part: the past was poorly done. It was overcooked and mushy. Honestly we should have sent it back, but it wasn’t worth waiting for something else.
The server was doing his best to accommodate, and provided dessert to the table for no charge. A kind gesture that was much appreciated. However, on the whole the results were:
Pasta dishes = poor
Reuben Sandwich = good
BBQ Platter = good
Bacon Cheesburger = fair
Overall experience: fair.
