The Cecil Steakhouse is a modern, upscale haven in Harlem. It is about fully engaging the five senses. You will be in our warm dining room that houses a modern décor of paintings and sculptures.
After dinner and upon reservation you can be brought over to Minton’s Playhouse in a fashion that can only be described as a Goodfellas Moment straight out of the Martin Scorsese movie. To get to Minton’s from The Cecil Steakhouse, you never have to step a foot outside. You will be going through our kitchen, through a privileged area, reserved for those who want the full Cecil and Minton’s experience. Made a reservation for my birthday dinner a week ahead. Received a confirmation email and text the day before. Showed up, and the restaurant was closed. Unacceptable! I've been looking forward to dining at The Cecil! I'm a Harlem native, never been, and have heard so many good things about the food. Never again! My party, which included my 83 year old mother, ended up walking to Lido; which isn't far but for an 83 year old woman with health issues, the walk in the cold was a bit much. Go to Lido! I had the steak and it was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the vibe was festive.

When the cecil first opened, it was considered a harlem gem. upon entering the restaurant after not doing so in some time, i was terribly disappointed. Gone is the posh elegance, and overall chic throwback The Cecil once offered, in its place: a poorly maintained, understaffed, drab and loud let down. The menu was once elegant, now it's just a commonplace tired and true offering. I was so disappointed and hurt by what I saw/experienced, I will never return again.

We had to wait 2 hrs for our food and they completely forgot about us we had to constantly get up and ask about being serviced and it was hectic that day. Personally I would not be coming back to this restaurant. The food was cold.

Not the Cecil I remember. The overall quality of my experience could have been better. The food wasn’t that great. My order was a little cold and the chicken wasn’t that flavorful. It was way too loud in the restaurant and the furniture was shabby (mismatch chairs throughout the entire dining area). I was hoping for a more relaxing and classy brunch setting. I’m not sure if they’ve changed ownership, but I won’t be returning.

This was our second time dining at The Cecil's and it was terrific. Great service, the specialty cocktails were excellent, and the food, especially the ribs and the branzino were superb. Recommend the Cecil's highly.

I absolutely love this place. The food is always great but what makes the place even more appealing is the staff. Everyone is great and attentive. The manager is the absolute best. Every time and I mean every time that I have came, you will always see him being great with each and every customer. Makes an appearance at every table just to check up on you. He makes coming a pleasure and those crab cakes and Lamb chops are to die for!!!!!

Waited sometime to be seated instead of being told one minute. The waiter was all over the place. My last experience my waitress was superb attentive. Don’t get me wrong I know Cecil is super busy, but it does feel good when the staff checks in to see if all is okay instead of customers having to flag them down. I will visit again!
