The Cauldron Pub
Our food menu is British comfort food with a fantastical, interactive twist.
Please note reservations are for dining only
In the heart of the cold, calculated but historic center of the financial district, there’s a bit of magic. Here you can eat Brit and develop your wit-zardary. The ambiance was lovely with the deep mahogany tones of an ancient building that teams with a lovely waitstaff ready to serve you an elixir or potion. Don’t be discouraged by its B rating as the Cauldron is a Pass in Potion Making and Defense Against the Dark Arts that is finding it on Williams Street.
The service downstairs was really poor for it being so slow. Our server barely paid attention to us and when trying to switch an order she gave us lots of attitude. The drinks that were served, even though very cool visually, tasted like absolute poison and not something that someone should injest AT ALL. That night and the next day I felt absolutely poisoned and awful and I do not have a weak stomach. The experience was interesting but I would not recommend to my least favorite person or ever come back.
Go for the experience and ambiance. Food is good, not great. Service was exceptional. The potions class upstairs is overpriced, but was fun for a one-time experience.
We had a wonderful time at The Cauldron Pub. All 5 of us loved our meals (fish & chips, burgers, toastie, and veg pie) and the cocktails were phenomenal. Not too busy at lunchtime and the kids were welcome in the pub. We all had a great time. I can’t wait to return.
Very accommodating and fun
Our waiter, Colin, was so knowledgeable about the menus and he was very kind. If every employee is like him I’ll recommend this place to all of my friends. The establishment is already great but Colin’s service made my experience wonderful. 5 stars!!
This establishment went beyond my expectations! the staff was great for the class upstairs and the dining experience was equally as wonderful. The décor and the added touched were so amazing.. I was a little nervous about it being a let down but was so great I already want to go back. The craft cocktails were out of this world. If you are a fan of magicians and magic this is the place for you. Let yourself just be absorbed in décor and the fun the night presents.
Very fun ambiance and overall place to go. I love the cozy, magical feel.
The ambience was great for a date night/birthday dinner for the wifey. Food was very filling and found the price to be fair for the location. Would recommend.
We took the potions class then had a dinner reservation for right after. The class was fun, drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere is great for any magical universe fan. The food is a bit expensive, but I think it's worth the price for a unique experience!
This was a fun, British pub with a magical twist that anyone who loves fantasy and wizardry would enjoy! My husband and I enjoyed their inventive, fantasy-inspired cocktails and the classic, British pub fare was delicious.
The Cauldron was a fun experience just to sit down and have a few drinks with friends. If you didn’t want to do the whole mkcing exlerience, I would still highly recommend sitting down for drinks and the rosemary chips at The Pub.
This concept was fun. Our server was a little chatty but that’s okay. We didn’t get our own wand we had to use the servers. The portion size of cottage pie was smaller than I expected for the price.
We loved this restaurant!! We wanted non-alcoholic drinks and they made us fun "bubbling shots" on the spot!! Very fun!
The pub itself is cute, but small. The menu was very limited and the food was underwhelming. How can you charge 17 dollars for a burger with no sides?! Especially when said burger is nothing to write home about. The side of rosemary chips we ordered turned out to be dry steak fries with little to no rosemary seasoning and a sad version of aioli to dip them in. The cocktails are also below average at this point. Considering the abundance of fairly impressive cocktail bars in NYC. There is potential to make something really great out of the concept, but they are failing at it at present.
Best place ever! We did the potions class first, I highly suggest doing both!
The staff was friendly, food came out fast and was delicious! The wands were also really cool to use. If I’m ever in NYC again, I will definitely go back!
Way over-hyped. Not at all as the videos on social meadia. terrible service and drinks taste like kool aid. Dont get suckered in.
The food was really good but we went there for the experience but there really wasn’t one the drink was bad The effects wasn’t much wouldnt go back
Being Harry Potter fans, my friends and I enjoyed dining at the delightful Cauldron pub recently. I've recommended it to several HP fans at my office, as well as other HP fans online.
Very good place for fantasy/Harry Potter fans. We did the regular dining experience rather than the special wizarding experience, but it was still very special and fun. Kitchen service was somewhat slow but servers were very patient with answering questions and explaining the menu/showing us how to operate the wand gimmick. Food and drinks were expensive but worth it for the experience (and also actually quite good). Would recommend for a fun night out.
Anyone who is a fan of magical things should go here! It is a hands-on and very engaging experience overall. Would love to come back and try the potions making class next!
