   One of the worst dining experiences ever. New Year's Eve - only the four of us in the restaurant (until another very disgruntled 4 people arrived). Totally inappropriate rock music from the bar playing loudly. Both the apologetic (and stressed) waitress and we tried to get it changed / turned down, but to no avail. Totally NO ambiance: we made something of it by turning off the lights and eating our fairly decent food by candlelight. We were keen to leave this disappointing venue so didn't bother with dessert of coffee. Starter & mains were fine.

   Excellent xmas dinner meal, extremely well cooked, great menu, lovely service, fully recommend

   Food was excellent, happily surprised by the quality. Staff really friendly and a very relaxed atmosphere. Really nice experience on lovely surroundings

   Great idea to offer a simple pre-concert menu when there is an event in the Abbey. We will use this again.

   Despite booking our table for 6 for 7.30pm and confirming this booking the day before, upon arrival there was no table set for us. Embarrisingly we had to stand in the middle of the restaurant while tables were pulled together. The service was incredibly slow and poor. A 2 course meal took 2 1/2 hours. We had to repeatedly ask for things to be bought to us - food menu/wine menu/drinks/cutlery etc. When the bottle of wine we ordered wasn't avaliable we were not told just given one costing an extra £10 - this was sent back. When finally getting the receipt they had tried to charge us for 2 glasses of wine and 2 pints of cider we had not had! Thank goodness we checked the bill!! Overall a very poor experience....

   I had booked on line a couple of days before but the entry had not got into the paper diary staff worked from. Luckily there was space for us. Staff were lovely. Meals were ok but not great. Lack of veg and flavours very basic on quite a small menu available. Child's portion was actually bigger than the adults.

   No food within an hour and we had to leave for a concert in the Abbey without a meal.

    We arrived and said we had reserved a table with OpenTable but the waiter had no idea what we were referring to. We were the third table in use all through lunch but we waited over one hour for our meal, then discovered it was cold. There was a fly in our wine bottle but we had to argue to get it taken off the bill. The whole place needs a complete overhaul. The loos are thirty years out date. Awful experience we won’t be going back.

    OpenTable and this restaurant failed to connect. Consequently the restaurant accepted a 42 coachload just before my party of 6 arrived. We were accommodated in the bar but inevitably the service was hugely delayed and the choice restricted. Difficult to know where the fault lies - with OpenTable or the restaurant.
