Took my girlfriend here for her 21st birthday they had some confetti along the table and a card for her
Overall very good experience
Drink list was on an iPad very cool feature
5 stars awesome
Great experience and even better service. Thank you Rikki.
Also - Plumbjack was a great wine. Glad to see u carry it
We went to Capital Grille to celebrate the night before my husband ran in the marathon. The service was great and everyone wished him luck, which was so nice. The food was phenomenal and we were seated in this little room separate from everyone else...made the night very special.
The food was good but the lamb chops, while cooked to perfection inside, were a bit burnt on the outside. The Scallops were very tasty but served luke warm. The Caesar salad was very fresh and delicious. Our server was very attentive and polite.
My daughter and I had a delicious Pre-Fix steak dinner on a mother/daughter’s night out. We enjoyed the food immensely!
Went on a recommendation from friends and we were so happy with everything. They have a great pre fix theater menu which had something for everyone and generous portions . Drinks were spot on . Our server Stephnie was really knowledgeable and friendly . Will return 😊
Perfect food and timing. Comfortable.
The Capital Grille was an excellent choice for a pre-theater meal. They had a pre-fix menu for theater goers for $45. The steaks were awesome! Filet for my husband, and the kona crusted sirloin for me. The creamed spinach was also excellent, but the potatoes were good, not great. They have some excellent wines to choose from, and I would recommend it highly. Service was wonderful, too. Our waiter was so pleasant, helpful with recommendations, and the food was served quickly.
Love going to the Capital Grille for the lamb chops and lobster mac and cheese. My ex-coworker/friend and I have been enjoying this meal for quite a few years. We lunch every once in a while when we can get together and we come here. We share both plates and enjoy a nice glass of wine. Excellent every time. We will be back next month. Thanks for a memorable meal.
Great service, great food and ambiance. As usual, our favorite waiter Ed Sullivan helped make it another special event to remember!
Very much enjoyed the experience. Excellent food and service.
Excellent service and food. Very relaxing and enjoyable.
Excellent food that is consistently excellent.
My go to restaurant for a great meal and impeccable service.
Feel like a queen there for the day!
A slightly weaker performance than usual. I tried the chef's suggestion section where steaks are dressed with seasonings and sides. Both steaks (kona crusted strip and sliced filet) were only decent. The appetizer of prosciutto wrapped mozzarella was also not great.
We picked this for a good steak dinner before our show. My son's bone-in filet was flavorless. The lobster mac and cheese was very dry. (It was highly recommended by a friend that had it in St. Louis.) Very disappointed as this was a very expensive meal.
Excellent service from wait staff. As per usual for this location, the hostess/front desk was less than friendly - but I have grown accustomed to this from Capital Grille. Once we’ve been seated, it’s a great experience. Before then, we’re often treated as an inconvenience. It’s very odd and unfortunate.
i don't eat meat yet capital grille is my go-to for lunch w/a client -their fish and salads are divine, as is their service. ambiance just right - conversation is easy. lovely experience.
Excellent service - Anthony was an excellent waiter. Attentive but not hovering.
Always a wonderful experience at Capital Grille. They never disappoint and the service is excellent. Lobster Mac and Cheese is awesome.
It was my wife bday and both of us 1st time eating capital grill and it was awesome 💪🏾💪🏾
Food and atmosphere was good, but outstanding service made the meal!! Thanks Sgt. Ed Sullivan!! ;)
The construction wasn’t actually as unpleasant as I thought because the service and food made up for it. What an incredible experience especially with a unique and flavorful steak.
Steak was super rare (instead of med rare) and not great quality). Salad was nothing special. Ordered sorbet assuming it would be some fruit and got coconut. For the price, expected something better than average.
This is our first visit to this Capital Grille and it was wonderful. The bar area was clean and very pleasant to a drink or a meal. Our dining room table was equally great. The service was impeccable attentive but not intrusive. We are steakhouse lovers and this location and Capital Grille itself, will be our go to, for special occasions. Thank you Roger and Josue for a great dining experience.
Always an amazing experience
Great food and excellent service. Angela went above and beyond providing outstanding service.
We came here because we have had a great experience in the past both at the 51st st location and in Garden City. Unfortunately last night was a big disappointment as far as my entree went. I ordered the swordfish for $48 with crabmeat au gratin on top. I asked for it w/o the cheese so they brought me a cold bowl of crab meat on the side. Nothing like what was described on the menu. My swordfish was very rare so I sent it back. Out came some hot crabmeat on top but fish was still very pink. Because the fish was very thick they should know how long to cook it so inside is medium. My entree was taken off the bill but for the price and caliber of the restaurant, I should NEVER have to return my meal. For this reason, will not be returning.
Delicious and the atmosphere was perfect!! Will definitely be back!
The Capital Grille NY gave us excellent service. Special mention must be made of Princess who attended to us as though we were the only group in the grille. In future visits to New York, the Capital Grille will become a regular venue.
As always, all was amazing! I worked with Mike,Maria and Izabela. All very professional. I love this restaurant and consider it to be one of the best. Thank you!
Swordfish was flavorless! Sounded so good! Swordfish with a crab au gratin and vinaigrette! Had to salt it but that didn’t help the fact that there was no flavor! And the sauce was sweet so not a good combo. My companion had the rack of lamb which he said was not very tender. Wine and bread were good! This has been our go to place as we come twice a year! Won’t go back!
Beautiful facility, excellent service, great food
I have already recommended this a number of times. After a Broadway matinee, it is an amazing deal - 3 course prix frix menu from 4 to 7 p.m.
You will enjoy the moment in walk in till you leave
Second time I have been here recently. Last time food was alright. We order from pre theater dinner menu. Not sure the first time - but steaks ordered medium - plate steak came on was VERY hot. Steak on outside was dry. Inside was pink as it should be. I do. I believe the steaks are not cooked as ordered, believe they are sitting on warming platter. The same steak not off theater menu arrived with juices flowing from outside.
Wait staff even after being told we had a 7:30 show upfront- that we’re on a schedule because of the show. Service was slow, once I mentioned the price fixed menu - non existent.
If the Capital Grille at Time Warner can pull it off, it should not be an issue. CPitsl Grille at Wall Street is excellent as well.
Ruth’s Chris - no issue with price fixed everyday selection. Steak was definitely prepared fresh. Two doors down.
Recommendation - if the staff does not like serving tables with kids, or if there is an issue with people ordering from these menus or during dining week - do yourself a favor - don’t take it out on the patrons, or find a new job.
There are many high end restaurants in NYC where I have not had this experience.
Not sure I’ll be back at this location. While I’m at it, the The Capital Grill in Huntington- had an issue there as well. Nice restaurant, but......
Absolutely fantastic evening. Ed our waiter was amazing and his attention to detail was second to none. From the moment we walked in the service was first class. Greeted by a host straight away, our jackets were taken to the cloakroom and then we were escorted to our table. Ed looked after us from the start and through to the end. The steaks really were out of this world as was the lobster tail. Thank you for making our last dinner so special Ed and all at the capital grille. See you all again in December.
Great location and atmosphere. If you love steak this is the restaurant to have it in! Service is fantastic!
Been at several Capital Grille restaurants the chain. We went here ordered from pre theater dining menu. While the filet was a nice and flavorful. Tender. The exterior was dry. Food was served on a.plate that was very hot. I am actually wondering if food is precooked and left on warming tables. Sides were delicious served hot.
I "HIGHLY RECOMMEND" Everyone To Take Advantage & Have A Wonderful Dining Experience At Capital Grille - NY !! The Food was outstanding, very reasonably priced, and the Service Staff was courteous, complimentary and made the dining experience something to remember !!!!
Probably the worst dinner I have had in a long time. Although I believe it was our server Anthony and not the restaurant itself. My wife and I like to take our time at dinner and hate it when the main course is delivered as they take away the appetizer. I have been to many Capital Grills before and have always been happy.
So, as with the other restaurants I had a specific conversation with the waiter and requested that he not put in the order for our main course until we ask him to. It usually takes about 7 to 15 minutes once we tell them to go head. On this visit we finished out salads and we requested him to put in the main course. 2 minutes later it arrived. The plates were hot but the steaks were at room temperature. So were the sides. It became obvious that he had put the order in with the rest of the meal and the steaks were just sitting under a heat lamp until we asked for them.
I complained and had them take mine back to re heat it. It came back just slightly warmer. Nothing like eating a barley warm NY Strip. The manager never came to the table although our waiter said he was told of the issue. As a apology they did not charge us the $30 for the salads.
The bill was still $260 with a $80 bottle of wine. I was there to have a good meal that was going to cost me about $350 with tip. The $30 for “ free” appetizer didn’t concern me. What bothered me was the poor service and lack of concern by the management.
Lots of places to eat out in NYC, I would recommend not wasting your money here. Perhaps another Capital Grill is a better choice. I know the ones in Orlando, Stamford CT are always good and had always been happy there, it seems it’s this one that’s a issue.
