About

The Cannibal Caf in Vancouver, British Columbia is named after a song by SNFU, a local legend of the punk rock scene here. While the menu lacks human flesh, it does have plenty of meat options to enjoy. This includes the famous beast burger. The beast is made with six six-ounce patties, six double slices of cheddar and six double-bacon strips. Finish it in 30 minutes and you get a t-shirt and your photo on the wall at The Cannibal Caf (plus the burgers free).

There are a dozen fresh draughts at The Cannibal Caf, seven imported beers, wine and numerous specialty cocktails to wash down your meal, as well.

Excellent service (even when I spilled water all over the place). Food was delicious (gluten free options as well). One of my favourite places on the Drive.

Cannibal Cafe fits in well on Commercial Drive as far as decor and relaxed ambiance.

We had the deep-fried pickles as an appy. All I can say is, "Yum!" Full dill pickles deep fried in batter - you can't really go wrong.

We had a choice of how we wanted our burgers prepared. I had the blue cheese burger and my partner had the Montreal smoked meat burger. Our burgers were juicy and delicious. We had poutine and mac-n-cheese as our sides. Both were good.

I would recommend coming here for the experience. I hear the milkshakes are delicious!

Vibrant, fun hangout with vintage band posters ( Unclean Wiener!)on the wall
to peruse while waiting for your food.
Burgers are delicious, though a bit messy and good beers are on tap as well
as some interesting cocktails.
Service is very friendly, but be prepared to wait a bit for your food if they are busy.
Overall , a nice addition to the Drive food scene.

Went there recently and had a group of 6, there isn't big group seating but we sat in the middle at a communal table and it was great. We were almost 20 mins late for our reservation but they were pleasant with us and sat us right away. The food was excellent I ordered the regular cheeseburger which was amazing and deep fried pickles which were equally satisfying. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to eat a divine burger and fries. Or just to eat appys as all the choices were great aswell. Will definitely be back!

I went there for the Birthday Burger that they offer and I got $8.95 off any burger or the basic burger which is $8.95. Cannibal grinds up 3 different types of beef in a special way (noted on their menu) to make a premium patty! The beef was VERY delicious and juicy! I dont even like beef! It was delicious! The only thing I dont like is that you have to order your sides separately and the burgers dont come with anything.

I would definitely return! delicious!

the poutine looked awesome too!

So we walked a few blocks north from Commercial Skytrain, and upon entering the door, we were greeted quickly by a smiling, friendly lady and seated within 30 seconds (yes we did make reservations ahead of time). She encouraged us to check out the regular menu in case we wanted something other than water. Anyway, we ordered and the food came pretty soon after. The appetizers were smaller than we had expected, but the flavour did not disappoint. The main course, the burgers, were delicious. Every bite came with an impact on our taste buds. Ending off the meal was the dessert. My GF liked her sundae, but personally I would recommend the hot donut.
All in all, friendly place, attentive waitstaff, and the meal was just right in taste and size.

The Dine Out Vancouver 2014 menu brought my gf and I here. The food was great, but they were pretty busy. We're definitely going to come back, their burgers are pretty amazing. There are a few things on the menu we'd both like to try out, and we definitely want more poutine.

The cannibal café was interesting, but not amazing. The $10.95 Taco salad was mostly iceberg lettuce and not much else, not worth the money. The burger was tasty, but had no sides... The Caesar was nothing spectacular either.

Kids did not like the mac n cheese and the only bright spark was the strawberry milkshake.

Lots of screens made it easy to watch the Canucks game and I guess that is what the Cannibal café would be good for. A beer and a game.

Cannibal is a great local burger joint. They take pride in their burgers and make them from scratch every day. I went during dine-out, and I think it actually took a little away from the experience. The poutine was really salty and there were only a few cheese curds. The burger could have used more sauce or seasoning as they give a pretty good sized patty so it tasted a little too meaty. Despite my criticisms, I'm definitely going to go back for a regular meal from their menu to try out some of their appetizers and unique burgers.

We went to Cannibal for Dine Out and was disappointed. We had eaten there before Dine Out and the burgers were bigger sized.
The dinner was okay for $18, but it was not regular fare.

went to eat here just because i wanted to try this cafe and it was only $18 for dine out. My friend and I tried the lamb burger and the american burger. Really good. I really liked the lamb burger. The ice cream donut dessert was AMAZING.Few things i noticed were the portion of the poutine and the salmon cake (appies) were really small and the food took more than 30 mins to arrive. That's more than 30 mins of waiting for appies, and another 30+ minutes waiting for the burger. Understandable that it was a busy night since canucks were playing so we were patient. Besides that, good night, good service, and a really loud night.

The food was very tasty and the environment was very enrgetic. The server could have been a little more energetic being there but the timing of the service was decent. The best part of the whole meal though would have to be the ice cream donut. It is beautiful and amazing. I have never tried anything like it before and I hope they keep it around. Overall, I found the food to be well blended and filling you up but still wanting more.

We had a reservation for 7:30. Our server was overall pretty good. She was super friendly. Our order was take. In a timely manner, our drinks took not too long. We had also asked for waters - one came after about 15 mins, the others after a out a half hour. Our appetizers took an hour to come. We had all worked that day and came hungry so the wait was too long. The food was delicious however. All in all, we all said we would come back again but it would have to be a night where we had lots of time.

My friends and I stopped in for dinner. It was busy! It is Dine out time after all...

It took awhile, service was slower then we had expected.

The Guinness Poutine is delicious.
The Salmon cakes were disappointing.
The American burger was fantastic.
The lamb burger was dry and under seasonned.
The Donut ice cream sandwich was greasy.
The Sundae fundae was EXCELLENT!
The milkshakes were great! Chocolate, strawberry were fantastic... vanilla could have been better.

PICKLES ARE GREAT!

The burgers could have some with a small salad or fries just to fill the plate. Big plates, small-medium sized burger makes the plate look sad.

I first ate at Cannibal Cafe during Dine out in 2015 and both myself and boyfriend enjoyed our meals very much. Great milkshakes and burgers and the donut ice cream sandwich was delicious! We have been back twice since then and enjoyed it each time, will need to try to new location on Pender.

DH had the Poutine which he enjoyed.
I had the Salmon Cakes which was 2 cakes. Didn't look like much but it was real chunks of salmon.

DH had the Classic Burger which is two 3 oz beef patties & I had the Lamb burger with goat cheese.
Burgers are served all alone on a plate with dill pickle spear.

DH had the ice cream donut. He really enjoyed the donut.
I had the sundae with lots of whipped cream & waffle cone pieces.

FYI, the lights dim at 6 pm & the music gets louder.

Service is friendly & cheerful.

I am used to the dine out treatment, sub par service and sometimes sub par food. Cannibal Cafe was above average in both regards. Wait staff were very friendly and checked on us a good amount even on a very busy night. Our order was put in the system incorrectly leaving one of us the option of a different entree from what we chose or a 10-15 minute wait. We chose the wait and instead the kitchen dished out a new entree in only a few minutes which was great. Portion sizes were a little small for appetizer and entree but the dessert was amazing. The bartender was doing a great job on our drinks as well - one of the best caesars I've ever had!

Great vibe. super friendly staff. Excellent burger patty, super juicy and full of flavour. Fries and onion rings of exceptional quality. Had the stuffed jalapeños, fried pickles and chicken wings for appetizers. Very tasty. Deep-fried banana split for dessert not to be missed. Already planning for our return trip.

This place offers a bunch of neat and interesting burgers. They're highly customizable and quite delicious. To top it off, they put rosemary on the fries :) That said, burgers make up the majority of the entrées that they offer, and the price point is a bit high. Go if you love the burgers and the punk ambience.

Gorgeous bar, sleek and clean atmo and concert posters from the 90's heyday of Vancouver indie rock from forgotten venues like The Town Pump and The Hungry Eye; my power pop/punk trio played all of them and the walls at The Cannibal Cafe spoke volumes to me. Natch, the dinner's soundtrack was full of Ramones, Pistols and the like while two discrete monitors rolled out silent versions of B-movie classics. Ironically, as my belly expanded, we watched The Incredible Shrinking Man. No danger of that happening to burger fans at Cannibal. The burger patty(s), your choice of (2) 3 ounce or (1) 6 ounce are grilled perfection.

The burgers can be made to order with your choice of toppings. You can get two 3 oz patties or one 6 oz patty. I found the 6oz burger patty too big for the small bun and toppings ratio. The bun is tasty, but again it would have been even better if it was larger to match the patty and so that more toppings could be put on the burger. The salad was super fresh and fries are awesome at this place! The staff is friendly too.
