About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem
The Cannibal Caf in Vancouver, British Columbia is named after a song by SNFU, a local legend of the punk rock scene here. While the menu lacks human flesh, it does have plenty of meat options to enjoy. This includes the famous beast burger. The beast is made with six six-ounce patties, six double slices of cheddar and six double-bacon strips. Finish it in 30 minutes and you get a t-shirt and your photo on the wall at The Cannibal Caf (plus the burgers free). There are a dozen fresh draughts at The Cannibal Caf, seven imported beers, wine and numerous specialty cocktails to wash down your meal, as well.

Excellent service (even when I spilled water all over the place). Food was delicious (gluten free options as well). One of my favourite places on the Drive.

Cannibal Cafe fits in well on Commercial Drive as far as decor and relaxed ambiance. We had the deep-fried pickles as an appy. All I can say is, "Yum!" Full dill pickles deep fried in batter - you can't really go wrong. We had a choice of how we wanted our burgers prepared. I had the blue cheese burger and my partner had the Montreal smoked meat burger. Our burgers were juicy and delicious. We had poutine and mac-n-cheese as our sides. Both were good. I would recommend coming here for the experience. I hear the milkshakes are delicious!

Went there recently and had a group of 6, there isn't big group seating but we sat in the middle at a communal table and it was great. We were almost 20 mins late for our reservation but they were pleasant with us and sat us right away. The food was excellent I ordered the regular cheeseburger which was amazing and deep fried pickles which were equally satisfying. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to eat a divine burger and fries. Or just to eat appys as all the choices were great aswell. Will definitely be back!

I went there for the Birthday Burger that they offer and I got $8.95 off any burger or the basic burger which is $8.95. Cannibal grinds up 3 different types of beef in a special way (noted on their menu) to make a premium patty! The beef was VERY delicious and juicy! I dont even like beef! It was delicious! The only thing I dont like is that you have to order your sides separately and the burgers dont come with anything. I would definitely return! delicious! the poutine looked awesome too!

The Dine Out Vancouver 2014 menu brought my gf and I here. The food was great, but they were pretty busy. We're definitely going to come back, their burgers are pretty amazing. There are a few things on the menu we'd both like to try out, and we definitely want more poutine.

I wouldn't rush back for what they served on the dine out menu, but I'll give them another try afterwards to see how the food compares.

Dine out food was just okay. The lamb burger patty was a little dry. The ice cream doughnut sandwich was pretty interesting to eat though.

Cannibal is a great local burger joint. They take pride in their burgers and make them from scratch every day. I went during dine-out, and I think it actually took a little away from the experience. The poutine was really salty and there were only a few cheese curds. The burger could have used more sauce or seasoning as they give a pretty good sized patty so it tasted a little too meaty. Despite my criticisms, I'm definitely going to go back for a regular meal from their menu to try out some of their appetizers and unique burgers.
