   Wonderful place if you like watching planes. Spacious, efficient, friendly and incredibly good value. Bit limited on choice on the day we were there, but it was a vintage fly-in on Sunday and they were dealing (well) with a lot of customers. I’d forgotten about their downhill runway, which always provides entertaining flying. Not sure how I feel about pulled beef as a burger alternative, but that’s just me. Again, faster to turn around orders on a busy day.

   Treated very off handed on arrival which wasn’t a good start, went and bought two drinks at the bar and sat outside to watch the arrival of the vintage aircraft ……none arrived or departed so after 90min went inside to my table and to order lunch Table service was ok friendly and helpful although all the staff were dressed generally quite scruffy and seemed a little undertrained and somewhat bemused Drinks and food ordered turned up quickly, the baked potato and jackfruit filling was enjoyed but the Beef brisket burger was dreadful ( having eaten there five times previously and food was good) The burger bun was cold and dry and so was the very small amount of meat that was inside, pickles and salad were scant and spread thinly on the awful brioche bun. Fries were excellent and hot Such a shame as it’s a great venue but appears to now be over staffed with unaware,untrained and untidy staff I did mention to the chap who came and enquired how the food was, he seemed initially unsure what to do but went and spoke to the new manager and then the chef and consequently brought a small white ramekin over with a few ounces of more tepid beef filling Best of a bad job I’m afraid Really disappointing day all round especially as it wasn’t very busy

   Sharing Sunday roast platter for 3. Lots of slow cooked meats, plenty of roasties and vegetables cooked perfectly (not over done) and a Yorkshire each. Extra gravy when requested. Quick and friendly service. Excellent overall and looking forward to October when they do Sunday lunches again.

   What a fantastic place to visit and eat! The Sunday roast smoked meat platter was just awesome. The meat was smoky and tender, the Yorkshire was lovely and crunchy, fluffy roast potatoes and the cauliflower cheese was rich and creamy. This was freshly cooked food at its best. A bit more expensive than your pub Sunday roast but worth every penny. Loved watching the planes outside too. Service was also top notch - friendly and attentive. A great find and will definitely be back for the summer menu.

   We flew in to enjoy a lunch at one of the most spectacular airfields in the UK. Unfortunately, the signature dish of pulled beef in a bap, with coleslaw and fries was only just warm enough, served on cold tin plates and tasted very bland. Not good vale and looking at the very limited menu, I am not sure that we will book a lunch again. The ambience, staff and service was excellent.
