The Cache at Ginger and Baker
Great food. Super slow service.
Service was good. Drinks were very stingy pour. Ordered doubles and singles were served. Lamb ragu was just chunks of lamb with thick pasta and not a true ragu.
It was my fiancé’s birthday and we were hoping to have the most amazing time, as we love Ginger and Baker for brunch.
Unfortunately the service was not good. We waited more than 15 minutes for our drinks. The server looked like he was slammed but the restaurant wasn’t full. They really need to consider training their servers to work together because one of the girl servers stood by and yawned while he was in the weeds.
Our Cesar salads were hardly dressed and the lettuce was brown. Our server didn’t know the menu well, forgot the specials, and it was frustrating asking for recommendations because it was so vague... again, a training issue.
We waited for our entree order for what seemed like a lifetime - as the server had 4 large parties to attend to.
We spent over $250... got to the restaurant at 7:15 and couldn’t get out of there until 10:30pm.
On top of it they let the surprise of his pre ordered dessert out at the table... which wasn’t the worst thing, just disappointing.
The food is amazing I have to say... but we had other plans we had to cancel because we didn’t get to leave at around 9:00...
Excellent food, delicious vegetable selections for those looking to avoid meat, chees and dairy.
Service was slow and server was very unengaging. Could see wait staff standing around when service was needed.
When dining out, it is not just about the food, it is about the overall experience. Dinner and wine were great, but the waitstaff was pretentious. I will probably return another time, but it will not be my first choice.
We were in town to visit my son who is a freshman at CSU. We came in on Thursday night without him and then we came I again tonight (Saturday). My meal was great both times, my husband loved the ribs so much on Thursday he had them again tonight, but he said they weren’t as good tonight. I had trout and salmon and both were terrific. The scalloped sweet potato was amazing and my son loved the steak frites, though it was a touch undercooked. The service was great, perfect balance between attentive and unobtrusive. Place is beautiful. We are from NY and have pretty high standards. We will return.
Beautiful setting overlooking downtown Fort Collins and excellent service. Highly recommend for a special dinner. They were serving an excellent Austrian rose. Hope to see this one stay in rotation!
We probably shouldn’t have gone on a football Saturday but hoped that the late start of the game would be to our advantage. The usually attentive, informative server was significantly distracted. We waited what seemed a very long time, before there was any real crowd, for drinks or ordering. However, the food arrived promptly, almost too promptly, and was very flavorful. We decided to get dessert from the bakery and go home rather than wait for table service. And the coconut cream pie was wonderful! Next time we’ll wait for a non home game evening.
Great atmosphere and fun experience.
I've only been there two or three times but it's always a great experience. Food is outstanding as is the service. Comprehensive wine list as well.
Overall, we had a great dinner. Service was average for early dinner.
It's very loud. So much so that it wasn't pleasant and especially because the tables are so large that we couldn't hear each other sitting across from one another. Lighting was good and the food was actually very good, but nothing spectacular. Steaks were properly prepared. Wine list was pretty extensive and they had some good value wines. The restaurant is so large for the number of seats and the finishes are so hard that the noise level was too much for dining. Cache really reminded me of a large, popular, out of the way dining establishment in a rural area and turns out, that is exactly what it was. We had no expectation when we went there and the people that worked there were all very nice. It's just not the kind of restaurant I prefer to dine at. it's really better for large parties where you add to the din of the restaurant.
Some of the best service and food I've ever had. Great for special occasions.
Nice looking new menu that has several items I'll have to return and try. Potato soup was lite and flavorful. Pasta, veg and jus on the ragout was great, but wished the lamb was more tender..it wasn't dry, bit would benefit from braising at a slightly lower temp tightly wrapped for longer to get the ideal texture.
It was a great evening for our anniversary but would be perfect for any occasion really. The menu was so delish. I loved my scallops. My husband thought his filet was a bit fatty and a tad charred on the outside for a medium steak. Also- it seemed as though the wait staff was preoccupied or maybe too busy. We had to wait quite a while and I noticed others having to wait as well. But our server was so nice when she was attending to us.
Sea bass was very disappointing, server Nicco was outstanding, the large open window was a nice addition
Great food, excellent dining experience, love the open air in the dining area! A bit pricey but well worth it.
Great night to celebrate our special occasion. Service and food was fantastic, ambiance great. A real treat!
This was our second visit. The first visit was memorable for ambiance, service (which was some of the best I've ever had) and the food. We were so excited to return but this time the service was very different. When our server was at our table they were great and knew a lot about the menu. However, it wasn't consistent and we had empty glasses and plates on our table with no server in sight. The wrong dessert was brought - and we only ordered two for a table of five. Hopefully, this was unusual because this really is a beautiful upscale restaurant. We might try one more time but it's too expensive for this type of service.
Excellent service, wonderful food and beautiful atmosphere!
Lovely sunset view seating, well rounded wine list. Katie our server offered on-point recommendations for everything from the wine, to the appetizers and entrees. The pan seared scallops were huge, perfectly cooked... outstanding! Will return specifically for that dish again.
Appealing room, friendly service. Ambitious menu but every dish fell short. Execution faltered on weak seasoning, uneven cooking of meat (pars over, parts raw), and overall absence of flavor punch. Pie was flawless.
Birthday dinner that was amazing!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience and your special day with us, and happy birthday!
The cocktails were ecclectic, but delicious. Meal presentation was great and flavorful. Portions were adquate.
Our food was all delicious besides the duck being overcooked and the grain that came with it was undercooked. The service was wonderful. The only big complaint I have is that it was super loud in the restaurant. For fine dining, it was disappointing to be celebrating my 35th birthday with my boyfriend and parents and not be able to hold a conversation because it was so loud. It did not used to be like this when it first opened. Still, I'll go back and recommend this restaurant!
It was ok... entrees are over priced for what you get and compared to other Fort Collins restaurants in the same category.
Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback, we will share this with the team. We do source as much as we can from local farms and ranchers which can affect pricing. We would love to have you back in and show you how creative the culinary team can be with seasonal fall ingredients and hear more about what dishes in particular didn't give you the best experience. Please feel free to email info@gingerandbaker
Enjoyed the ambiance , service, and food. Will dine there again.
So excited to hear you enjoyed the full experience, we would love to have you back in to try the new fall menu that rolls out in a few weeks!
We had several
We would like to hear more about your experience here or by emailing info@gingerandbaker so we can see what we could do to improve upon your 3 star review. Thanks for taking the time on feedback!
The ambiance and noise level got a little knock as a table near us had a child that was loud. I don't have a problem with kids, in fact, I have 3 of my own, however my husband and I were celebrating our Anniversary and had left our kiddos at home so we could enjoy a nice quiet dinner.
Other than that... the food and cocktails were amazing!
Thanks for the feedback and for sharing your special day with us! We are sorry to hear it was a little loud but glad the rest of the experience was great, hope to see you again soon!
Outstanding. Maybe the most engaged server I’ve ever had. Terrific food and wine.
I love this place! Food is outstanding!
Thanks for the great review and hope to have you back in soon, Patti!
Out of town guests
Thanks for stopping in from our of town, we would love to see you next time you are in Fort Collins!
Great food with an exciting menu!
Thanks Doug! We would love to have you check out the new fall menu in a few weeks too!
Great wait person. Everyone loved their food
Thanks for the great review and hope to have you back in soon!
The food continues to be excellent. The service, sadly, continues to be mediocre to very poor. What a shame that management doesn’t seem able rectify the problems and raise the whole experience to a consistently high level.
Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We do have an amazing new Cache manager that has just started and he is enthusiastic and eager to please each and every guest. We hope to have you back in soon and would like to know about your experience.
Good food. Kind people. Management needs to staff it up better. Our server was overwhelmed. I had to ask for something to drink to get anything more than once. They need to ask me. The whole night was 2.25 hours start to finish once we where seated. We had the time and the wait was in a pleasant atmosphere.
Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We have a new Cache manager who is fantastic and making some improvements to staffing for the guest experience. We would love to have you back in and let us know how it goes next time!
Very nice ambiance and location. Even the parking was convenient. The view of the surroundings was very nice.
The food was great: my pheasant and my wife's scallops very beautifully presented and delicious.
Thanks so much for the review and the details about your feedback, Ken!
For the money and all the hoopla, the kitchen still is not consistently first rate.
Some comments regarding our menu choices. The melon salad had very few melon balls in it but plenty of greens. The pureed parsnips underlying the halibut were a strange accompaniment, really too sweet for it. Both of us received grilled arugula with our entrees, and it was good but awfully chewy. Finally, the kaffir lime tart was divine.
John, thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We shared it with our culinary team and they have made some adjustments. We would love to have you back in and get further feedback. Thanks again!
Great place for a date night!
Thanks John! We hope to have you back in soon!
