We are a small, family run business established a few years ago. We offer good quality, freshly prepared, home cooked food. We are very keen to offer competitive prices - Look out for some great offers. We take great pride in our cask ales and we are listed in the 2013 Good Beer Guide. Generally at least one of the four Ales on offer will change almost every day. We source our produce wherever possible from local suppliers; our fish and vegetables are delivered fresh daily from Birmingham Wholesale Market, our meat comes from Russell’s Butchers in Shenstone. We have been working with some of our supplier for years. We smoke our own fish here on the premises. We keep a pretty fair wine list and we’re always on the lookout for bargains; small parcels of a few cases of something interesting at a good price. We always pass our savings on.

We recently moved into the area and saw the great reviews on trip advisor so we booked a table as a special occasion to celebrate the wives birthdays which were both coming up. Unfortunately we were so disappointed. We booked a table for 4 people at 8pm and arrived 10 mins early. We were told the table wasn't quite ready and were asked to have a drink at the bar whilst the table was prepared. After 15 mins of waiting we inquired with the manager when the table would be ready and he said a few more minutes. After another 10 mins we asked the manager again and he said he cannot force people to leave the table if they were not ready. In fact he was quite rude and abrupt and didn't apologise. At 08:25 we suggested that we had had enough of waiting a round and were going to leave and suddenly our table was ready. Once seated we were asked if we wanted any more drinks and then our order was taken. No offer was made for a round of drinks on the house for being kept waiting. Our starters arrived within 20 minutes and immediately followed by our main courses. Three of the party ordered steaks. The steak was bland and the peppercorn sauce was devoid of peppercorns. Whilst one of the table staff was clearing the plates she inquired if everything was ok with the meals, we mentioned the tasteless steaks and sauce and we were rudely told we should have mentioned something at the start. The young lady who presented us with the bill was very pleasant and polite - the manager ought to take a leaf out of her book. We sadly will never go back to this establishment.

We've been here lunch and evening meal, this place never disappoints! Steak cooked to perfection, generous portions of vegetables, yummy Ginger sticky pudding.The perfect birthday treat, as we had anticipated. I like the additional seafood menu and by the vast amount of mussels we saw coming from the kitchen these are hugely popular.

been here before a couple of weeks ago the service was fantastic, but on this occasion waited 15 minutes after being seated to place order, had to call a server on each occasion to place order, ask for drinks, and ask for bill. The place was not busy at all but the service was very poor
