Excellent food. Best crab cakes I’ve ever had. Great drinks and a relaxed place to hang out outside
The food was delicious, the drinks were reasonably priced and the service was lovely! Would definitely recommend this to friends!
Wonderful food at good prices. Great service. Very accommodating.
Food was great. Was annoyed they charged us for every substitution, though.
Waiter was helpful
Seating was a little odd and the noise level was ridiculous.
Friendly, home town attitude with great service and delectable food! A hidden jewel.
Great charcuterie board! Hard to get away from a screen for a quite dining experience, but nice for happy hour.
Amazing food and even better service!
Excellent food and excellent service! I had the jumbo scallops...best I’ve ever had. My husband had the chicken fried steak. He said it was great! Neat place...it was our first time there!
Great service HUGE outdoor tv for sporting events
Food was delicious and excellent happy hour
Came by for brunch and food & service was good.
Kids brunch was not the best setup and the tables
were not my favorite as you’d hit your knees going into their booth type seating.
Great date night with my wife, food was very flavourful and server was good, but everything came out just a little too fast after ordering (not often you hear that complaint), suppose upside was that it was still hot. Will certainly be back again.
The restaurant was fairly quiet and cozy however we were seated outside next to the heater. They ran out of bread. The food took a long time to come out. The surprise was the bill. $75 for 2 steak salads and a half bottle of wine. Way too much for sitting outside in the cold with sub par service and no bread.
Server was great and very attentive, did ask if we’d been there before (no it was our first time) but didn’t ask whether we were visiting for a special occasion (which I did note in our reservation). Sat us next to the door to the patio (I recommend against this during the colder winter months) and we eventually put on our coats. Noise level was loud and was much more of a casual dining experience than I expected (I thought it would be fancier). Prices were excellent for steak and taste was ok, not quite anything I would remember (maybe I will remember it was very salty). Good everyday dining experience. Drink prices were also very good.
Manger Preston was wonderful. We had a reservation but it was packed and we had a 30min or more wait. Offered wine or beer while we waited. Wine was not cheap and very good. Outstanding customer service. Will be back. Music on patio was great tooo.
This was my second time here. I enjoyed it so much the first time I decided to bring my parents for a nice dinner for my birthday. I booked a reservation on Open Table for that occasion. We were seated and had our menus, the waiter was great at first. Everything started off great but went downhill once we started ordering. There was an event that evening that seemed to have the whole restaurant out of control. I wanted my parents to try the filet mignon since I thought it was so good and we were told after we tried to order that they had run out. This was 7pm so very surprised they ran out. Things went downhill from there. They say every large group from the outside event inside next to us so I couldn’t even communicate with my parents across the table. When we did finish eating and wanted to order a dessert to go so we could at least enjoy that back at their house, our waiter had disappeared. My dad ended up getting frustrated and finding someone else to help. We finally got our check and closed it out. I understand that this was a night with an event, but it was disappointing and unfortunately my birthday dinner with my parents made them not want to return again. That saddens me since it’s so close to where we live and I hoped to frequent The Butler House a lot more often. I work in this industry and there are quite a few things that could have at least shown some empathy. I would have comped the dessert or something to show some concern since what should have been a quite enjoyable evening for me and my parents and a nice birthday was far from it. When they told us they were out of the filets after two of us ordered them, I would have tried to recover from there. This was before they seated two tables full of intoxicated people from the event outside right next to us on both sides. It was too loud to talk and that should have been another clear indication that we were not enjoying having to talk very loud if we decided to try and talk. Awful second time there.
Loved the ambiance, fresh , tasty dinner! They actually kept them kitchen open for us!!
Will come back !
First time there and wasn’t sure what to expect. The food was excellent and the service was a little slow for the number of tables. But overall it was an excellent choice and we will go back again.
Fun place to celebrate a birthday for a friend! Brunch menu was diverse and delicious!
The waiter was pleasant and professional, he provided lovely service. Wonderful food and cocktails, but an incredibly drunk couple across the dining room from us marred an otherwise nice Saturday dinner.
Their annoying, loud, rude and sexually explicit conversation was completely clear all the way to our booth. The man at one point walked in the “employees only” section, which was past the wooden swinging doors adjacent to our seats. Unsure of the man’s role at the restaurant, but he appeared to be an owner or hold some type of sway. When we left a few minutes past 11, the couple and their guests, were still living it up in the front dining room.
I would love to return to enjoy the food and cocktails, but I do not wish to have to dine through another evening like that.
I loved the ambiance of the place. Based on the pictures I was hoping the outside had better places to lounge but it was table seating and I wasn’t the one facing the fire. Food was good and service was good (although the staff looked very busy) everyone was nice. I’m gonna try going for a full meal (I got dessert only) and sit inside. I am very hopeful though!
The night after Valentine’s Day is probably not the best night to go out to eat! Waitstaff seemed exhausted and the bar was out of some things. Not as good as usual but, overall, a fairly nice evening. Good company and food was good.
Had a wonderful time. Food was fantastic. Only disappointment was we were brought to a table that haven’t been cleaned from previous guests. They removed glasses and said would be right back to wipe it down but never came back and cleaned
Wonderful food, service, and special Valentines specials
Valentines. Don’t do valentines here
The ambiance was perfect for Valentine’s Day! This is my fourth time there and they didn’t disappoint. I had the lobster and my fiancé had the duck and both dishes were wonderful!! This has become one of our favorite spots. The fireworks and music were the perfect ending to a great night. We’ll for sure be back.
Valentine’s Day date...we didn’t realize it was a prix fixe menu but it was actually good and they also had great options. Christina, our server, was delightful. It was a great evening. The ambiance was great. They even provided their guests with Valentine’s keepsakes via repurposed wine bottles, which we could write messages on; clever idea. Overall great time.
We love the Butler House. It’s our go to restaurant but Valentine Day was a little disappointing. Extra tables were placed due to the holiday and there was NO privacy. Customers on either side of our table could hear our conversation and vice versa which was a little disappointing. Prefer the normal table set up which affords more privacy while dining.
Great place for family and the happy hour. Service was wonderful we had a great table.
Everything was wonderful!! The fillet was out of this world!!
This place is super charming and the food is delicious! I would highly recommend it and I’ll be back soon! The prices are very reasonable for the high quality of food being served.
The food was very good but it's expensive. Their tables are uncomfortable either too big and can't hear across or you keep hitting your knees on the legs. The service was good. Their wine list is good but pretty expensive as well.
Service was terrible saw the waiter ebout every 30 minutes my with the price of their food that is unacceptable. My first plate came out cold. Reason for bad service was they were too busy and they are a new restaurant stated the manager not my problem as there were plenty of empty tables Manager states he was going to attend to us did not see him after that. Too bad they have great tasting food as the only way would recommend if you are ok with terrible service then go
Dined here on a Wednesday night. THE GOOD: the service, the coconut shrimp, the avocado caprese salad, the scallops THE MEDIOCRE: the hostess took forever to seat us, and the Chipotle Sweet Potato Puree; THE BAD: N/A
Once again, a wonderful evening. The scallops are phenomenal! And it’s great to enjoy reduced price wines. During happy hour.
Able to seat where our grandchildren could play and the patience of the staff with toddlers was amazing. Great family venue!!!
This was our first time dining at the Butler House. It was overall not a good experience!
I have worked in the restaurant industry and won numerous awards for quality of operations, and guest services. The following are what we experienced Saturday evening.
1. Hostess not friendly and led us to our table dropped the menus and walked away
2. Waiter was not friendly or talkative, acted like he could care less about us.
3. We both ordered the filet and as the filet was cooked perfect for my wife her sides were cold. I asked the waiter if he could have the cook my filet a little longer and his response was ... he would have to ask the manager. My wife was done with her meal before my filet came back to the table.
4. We had a $100 gift card we got for Christmas and when we gave it to the waiter he and the manager on duty came back and asked if we had a receipt for the card because it showed no $ amount was on the card!!! We assured him it should and after 10 minutes he came back and set it on the table and said all was good with no apology!!!
5. Overall a very disappointing experience.
Had wanted to try this place for awhile; did not disappoint. The scallops and risotto where excellent. We are going back to try brunch on Sunday. Note brunch is only served on Sunday's.
We have already recommended the Butler House, felt the food was good, got our money's worth! Expect to revisit in the future. I have seen many request for Special Restaurants to take out of town visitors, this is one they need to take family and friends.
First time for us at Butler House and we loved it. Excellent food! Great Service. David was terrific, answered all of our questions and tended to our requests. We had a lovely time and are sure we will return.
