Fantastic meal, have been to the old one in Henley numerous times, good to see the standards have not dropped, as always the food is exceptional and well worth the money
Staff were fantastic, attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, my steak was cooked perfectly, it was a pity the fois gras was missing from the Tournedos Rossini. Otherwise a great evening.
Very enjoyable lunch
My cod was delicious, unusual to have quite so much sauce but wow it was tasty 😋
Excellent food, great service, excellent restaurant only let down by noise level.
Expensive but really beautiful, tasty food that looked as good as it tasted. The beef and lamb dishes were cooked to perfection and the meat was so tender.
The staff were attentive and courteous and there was a good atmosphere. We will certainly be going back again.
Lovey food, great service would recommend
Service was awful. After been taken to our table waited 20 minutes before we could catch someone’s eye to order drinks - then waited another 20 minutes for drinks to arrive. Ignored at the bar when we went to see where the drinks were then eventually the Manager noticed we were trying to get someone’s attention. Food was good though with no delays.
Excellent food and and very good service. Will definitely come back again and will recommend to others.
Thank you to Mike and his team for yet again an amazing Sunday lunch, we had a lovely time with our friends and thoroughly enjoyed the fabulous food you serve, top class. Look forward to seeing you all soon
Lack of trained table-waiting staff
First time at the Forest since under new ownership. Quality of food good. We had Prosecco brunch - also new for the restaurant. Some difficulty initially as 2 of our party couldn’t drink alcohol but we got think sorted in the end.
Lots of outside tables, great for summer.
Great Food and great choice of drinks in a nice setting in the middle of Dorridge. The only point I would raise is the service was patchy at best. We had to ask for drinks a couple of times before they was brought to the table the same with food and napkins.
We was also charged for double gin and tonics when they was singles. It took time to refund us which was eventually done in cash as manager was busy talking to customers and was the only one able to refund a card.
Amazing food as always….! Well presented, great staff, pleased to have Mike and his team in dorridge.
I made a reservation for a table, when we arrived we were seated outside the toilets, when I asked if we could be moved, I was told the resturant was fully booked, If I had know I was going to be seated by the table I would of changed the booking.
The food was nice but luke warm
my husband ordered a pint of perroni larger which was flat and he didn't drink it, he mentioned it to the waiter who offered him a free half of perroni and still charged for the pint which wasn't drank.
We went there yesterday for my son 18 Birthday, it was recommended and so please with their foods and service. The girl look after us call Rosie she is amazing and so helpful. Thank you Rosie 👍
Food was absolutely spot-on - we all had different dishes and every one was pretty much perfect. Service was a little bit slow but the staff were lovely and it really didn’t matter. Look forward to going again!
Great service. Efficient, safe. Great to have it as our local.
The service was good, we were looked after well by one girl who was really trying hard to please us. There was a real lack of choice for vegetarians and vegans and what choice there was was severely overpriced. The menu needs to be updated and they need to update their website as the menu’s they had on there are no longer available.
2 out of the four meals we had were really good and my complaints were dealt with professionally and fairly. Would we return? Probably not, unless they improve their menu.
Love this place always a brilliant atmosphere and fabulous service from the team - - best local!!!
Food quality very good, with the exception that the cauliflower in my cauliflower cheese was almost raw, but cheese sauce good flavour, so this could be a personal preference rather than anything wrong. The staff and surrounding very nice, however the whole experience was destroyed by two famlies at the next table who allowed their 7 young children to literally run amok, the children were so loud that the parents were shouting above them racket in order to converse. I was with my 90 year old uncle who has an earing aid and normally this enables him to hear quite well, but the noise was such that it was impossible. I wanted to move but he got very upset about causing a fuss, really wish I had insisted now as the lunch l was not cheap at little over £110.00 for two courses for 4 people, which would not have troubled me at all as the quality and service was good, but our fellow guests completely ruined the experience for us, my uncle was in tears in the car park, this was the first time I had been able to see him since his wife of 60 years died in January, so he is naturally very fragile at the moment. I would suggest that in future a senior member of staff should be alerted if the behaviour of one set of guests is obvioulsy causing destress to another and they should be allowed to intercede, perhaps in this instance they could have quietly asked us if we would prefer a quiter section in the restaurant.
The food was amazing. Atmosphere wasn’t as good in the hotel restaurant, but the service was great too.
Very disappointed and surprised that there was no TV in for the England game. There has been a TV in there before for certain sporting events.
But we were served by a very nice and efficient waitress who sorted out very quickly the problem/delay with our drinks order which we had been waiting about 20 mins for.
I only wanted to rate the overall experience, but stupidly the system doesn't let you do that???!!
Restaurant quiet with football on TV. Service a little slow, food excellent
Fabulous lunchtime visit. Very relaxing & enjoyable. Thank you Mike & Team
This was my wife’s birthday. We enjoyed the meal. The restaurant was a bit noisy but food, wine and service were great. I think the new owners have made considerable improvements.
Welcoming staff very friendly and prompt service all very good, sadly that is where pleasure ends poor value regularly eat out at so many venues of quality but have never experienced such overpriced pub food. £35 for steak £40 Dover sole fish & chips £20 ???
Come on your clients will leave you for better value elsewhere….
Sorry guys dissatisfied
An excellent lunch with a really good vibe in the bar compared to previous visits. Great food and good value
A wonderful meal, beautifully presented by knowledgeable staff.
I had Rossini steak and it was really good. A Chilean cab/sauv red was reasonably priced too. It should be in the Good Food Guide!
Food was lovely and good value. Only issue we had was with the service which was below par for this type of restaurant. The staff were lovely but being very young maybe do not have the experience of what level of service is required. We felt it was more a training issue rather than the wrong people in the wrong job. For example one of our party had finished eating and a waitress came over and took her plate away whilst the rest of us were still eating - not a great problem but it just showcased inexperience whilst trying to be helpful. Additionally 2 of our party ordered steak but had to ask for steak knives. Nobody asked if we needed any salt/pepper/vinegar etc, we had to ask for it. Drinks took a while to be brought to the table and we thought we had been forgotten! All in all not great problems and it wouldn't stop us from coming back BUT if extra training could be given to them, the eating experience would have been very good and the staff would have more confidence.
Had main course today and we were very pleased with our meal. Service was excellent
Went for sunday lunch. Chicken wings as ever were outstanding.
Lamb and beef was delicious. We will be back.
Excellent Sunday lunch, fresh & well presented.
Good service with a great friendly atmosphere.
Definitely would recommend and we will be returning soon.
Very good Sunday lunch. Would recommend the food.
First time booked since new owners have taken over - food was great as was service. Will definitely make a return trip.
Sunday lunch was very good quality
Always a good place. Decent new menu. Good service, good crowd. Happy to keep coming back.
Thought that the menu was very ostentatious for a lunch time, much more suitable for dinner. The food was tasty but lacked any trimmings, for example I had a Ribeye steak, which only came with chips and not even a mushroom or tomato. To be fair Idid get a choice of sauce though, I chose peppercorn and received béarnaise!
Overall disappointing, especially when we had had a wonderful Sunday lunch there only a couple of weeks ago.
We went for a light bite for lunch, so were limited to a starter, which we felt was overpriced for such a small portion. The room was very noisy (there was a wedding taking place) and the service was slow. We had expected better.
We enjoyed the food and the ambience very much. All of the dishes we ordered were excellent, all were very well-cooked and beautifully presented. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that there were very few vegetarian dishes on offer ( I guess the name of the restaurant gives a hint!) and one of our group is a vegetarian - but so are so many people nowadays that perhaps that can be rectified.
Welcoming staff, spacious, good food choice and drinks
