   We had a great dinner - food was excellent - we enjoyed the ambience ( also the viewing of Rami Malek going into BG Oysters across the street. We will go back - only slight problem was that it took a while to get things started. Our reservation was at 8:30 - sat down maybe 5 minutes later, received water and then it took 30 minutes for someone to come back to ask us for drinks - we decided to order drinks and our meals as soon as waiter came back, uncertain of when we would next see him. Again, once we started with our food and drinks, we loved it.

   We enjoyed are dinner at The Butcher Shop. We sat at the bar. They creative cocktails and the food was wonderful. I had duck and it was tender no knife was needed. I would definitely dine here again.

   Food was fine, but not at all innovative, special, or worth the price. Service was very disappointing. We felt unwelcome and like a burden on the staff. Ended up just getting appetizers and went elsewhere for entrees.

   This used to be such a fabulous cozy welcoming neighborhood spot. We used to go here all the time and always feel not only welcomed but comfortable and the food and wine always excellent. We came here for the first time in a long time, and noticed immediately and ambience change. The walls were now painted white and the music was terrible… We were stuck in a 1987 MTV music video playing off of a Bluetooth speaker. Not at all the vibe that we used to remember and enjoy so much. After being excited to come here this evening, we’re not sure if we’ll be visiting the butcher shop anytime soon which is truly disappointing.

   The food and ambiance were excellent, but the prices are very high. There's also too few choices on the menu. For instance, there's only one salad and not a traditional mixed salad with lettuce and tomatoes.

    Had not been to the Butcher Shop since they changed the interior. It is more spacious. Still love sitting at the bar. I think the cocktail options have expanded. "Curated" wine selection is more than adequate. Wonderful smaller dishes as well as full meals. Moreover, butcher shop has plenty of choices for those who don't eat red meat, though pure vegetarians may find it too limited. We had a wonderful time and will surely go back.

    We were celebrating a retirement and they gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Food was delicious, all four dinners and dessert.

    We recently went to The Butcher Shop for a milestone birthday celebration for my son who loves the cheesecake that was served this summer. Although it is no longer available on the fall menu, the team at Butcher Shop made an exception and it was amazing!! Such service is not common IMHO and should be well noted!

    This is "so Boston" - the beautiful, clean and pared-down feel of this spot keeps you focused on your guests and the delicious food. The giant open windows - the bustle of the crowd walking by - the late summer warmth making the inside and outside balance beautifully. The staff was wonderful. Short-staffed on the night we went - they explained this up-front and that was a lovely vote of trust. We didn't rush them, they didn't rush us - we all understood. And so, any delay we experienced felt totally fine - it was just a good excuse to savor our delicious salads, appetizers, cocktails and sumptuous entrees. Imagine that? That's how down to earth and professional they are. The food - oh my goodness - just so well done. And the drinks were perfection! Thank you Butcher Shop - we loved it all! And they warmly thanked us at the end of it all - I couldn't have asked for a more perfect ending to a great experience.

    A foodie find in this small restaurant! The small plates were perfect for sharing and the variety pleased everyone. The lamb shank was yummy and easily split too. Service was attentive and friendly

    The mains we ordered had good flavor but were pretty dry/cold by the time they reached our table. We found the service was not very attentive. And generally felt like the meal was overpriced relative to the quality and experience we received. A very mediocre experience.

    Our table for two was actually a table meant for outdoor seating, but the service team had brought it indoors for some odd reason. We were uncomfortable and practically eating on top of one another. All of the regular tables were for 4 or more. It was just a strange indoor seating plan overall. No one was thinking of ambiance or the dining experience overall. The food was under seasoned and bland at times. We won’t be going back.

    Pros: asparagus soup and steaks were tasty. Servers were friendly. Cons: Noisy, cramped, poor table/chair choice (patio furniture?), far too expensive for what you get. Limited menu with no specials. No bread service. No starch or veg with a $40 steak?! Everything is add on. Just a steak (a tasty one) on a naked plate. Wish we had gone elsewhere for our anniversary.

    Amazing service and food! wine recommendation has delish! Def coming back The only hiccup was that we had to wait for our table over 20min even though we had a reservation. They sat us in a smaller table and had drinks while waiting.
