When walking in to Butcher Bar you’re met with a great ambiance and warm hostess. I ordered one of the craftier beers on tap, with a solid section to choose from. Their menu seemed very appealing online but did not deliver.
I ordered their $38 strip steak with a side of veggies. With a price like that you’d think the preparation of the plate would involve more than just cold vegetables piled next to the meat.
Server was non attentive after ordering a side of dressing (not getting it), more water (needed to be reminded), and checking in on my cold food. When finally back (after 10 minutes or so) the only suggestion was to re heat the food. Once again with a $38 menu item, you’d think they’d have more sympathy to get it correct.
Only compensation received was a free dessert that was tasty. Overall experience was 4/10, I understand being a young food critic my youth is a warrant for subpar service but had high hopes for Butcher Bar.
Food was very good. Boar ribs super tender and flavorful with a good barbecue sauce. Wedge salad had an excellent blue cheese dressing. Italian meatballs were very savory, a little spicy (good thing) and had good texture. Service was excellent. Seat location was undesirable and music was WAY to loud.
Food and service were exceptional. Cocktail program is top notch. The special last night was a Korean short rib grilled cheese with caramelized onions and a bowl of tomato bisque and it was outrageous. This was my third time at Butcher Bar and I always have a wonderful experience. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful experience at Butcher Bar! Service was great, food was delicious and atmosphere had a great vibe!
Food was exceptional & service was outstanding! Convenient off street parking lot next door. Really cool ambiance / setting!
Good, drinks, and service were great. Doesn’t mandate mask and overheard someone talking about being exposed to vivid.
Amazing meal! The picnic table they sat us at was very uncomfortable and the space was cold.
$2.85 credit card surcharge? Really? It was a great meal with great service and that surcharge left a bad taste in my mouth. In the period of COVID with touchless transactions and coin shortages, this is how you treat a $95 bill?
Cmon Butcher Bar!
Really nice place. Just a little cold in the covered back patio.
Celebrated my husbands birthday, food presentation was over the top. We ordered the meat trough and it was awesome… great holiday vibe
Really great food service and loved how they decorated for the holidays. Love this spot
Disappointed. We had high hopes for Butcher Bar having dined in their sister restaurant Mercato but the hopes didn’t pan out. The wedge salad was unbelievably bland. How could blue cheese dressing be bland? The burger was ok with crispy fries that were the highlight of the meal. The Korean ribs were tasty but cold, yes cold not even warm! The Gouda Mac and cheese was watery and also tasteless. The pasta was swimming in what looked like a puddle of flavorless, runny sauce. Our request for salt and pepper to attempt to salvage our meal went ignored. To boot they were out of the Cabernet we ordered. All in all not worthy of the 100 bucks we spent.
This Yelp find was amazing. The Christmas decorations were super cute. The food was incredible.
The cocktails were fabulous! The beer menu is awesome. The burgers were divine! I’ll definitely be back again.
Loved the decor for Christmas
Nice venue with a hip casual vibe. Great drink menu, lots of options. Pretzel monkey bread was delicious.
food was ok. the wine was awful. I guess this is a place for beer. A little noise midweek for my taste
We had Sunday brunch and, although the menu was limited, we all found something delicious to try. My burger was one of, if not THE best burgers I've ever had.
Butcher Bar was a nice brunch choice. Staff was friendly and we were able to stay as long as we wished.
Was in town to celebrate our anniversary and booked a last minute brunch before we headed back home. The best decision we made all weekend! Everything from the food to the music to the vibes to our server, exceeded our expectations! If you go for brunch and DONT get the French toast, you are MISSING OUT!
The menu has limited choices. However, the food was delicious from the mimosas to chocolate chips pancakes, and poached eggs over lumps crab. The service was tremendous, thank you, Arnold. Fantastic spirit and courteous, keep up the great work!
I would return for the flank steak and egg, over a hash brown on a hot iron skillet, and the Mimosa. I am taken back for the extra charges for the liquor, and a surcharge for using a credit card for payment. Who carries cash anymore? It seems like petty charges.
This restaurant is a great place for brunch, our family enjoyed it very much.
I was frustrated I didn’t get what I ordered.
Food was unfortunately bland and the dishes felt overpriced for what was delivered. A lot of the nice looking dishes on Instagram were not available anymore. In addition, we looked at previous pictures of diners and everyone was very appealing wanting us to go but it was the complete opposite. First, the lamb lacked flavor; the bone marrow didn’t have the parm crust; the burger bun was McDonalds quality and didn’t look like the previous diners had; the rigatoni was flavorless, drawn in sauce, cheese was very cheap, barely any broccoli rabe and the sausage was lacking flavor.
The cocktails were good and helped lift the mood.
Initial seating and service were slow for a not that full place and service had to be reminded for things that should be basic like new silverware, water or bringing the CC back.
Maybe it’s a pandemic effect, not enough or qualified people but we’ll be thinking twice before coming back. Definitely not worth the price paid for.
Great drinks, very good food. The short rib was PHENOMENAL! The outdoor patio was a little too warm.
Double date! Good food! Nice mock tails
My cornbread was excellent but was disappointed with how small the octopus portion was for the price.
First time visiting. Coming in from the outside, I was nervous because the street and entrance just looked dingy but coming in, it was so well put together! Very pretty and welcoming.
Drinks were strong. The appetizer we ordered was the highlight of my meal (the spare ribs toast). It was delicious and flavorful. The bread had a great crunch to it.
We ordered steaks which weren’t anything to rave about.
Another great spot in Central City, good food and libations. A friendly wait staff and open atmosphere make for a pleasant dining option. We had the octopus and Brussel sprout appetizers, the large group next to us ordered the Trough, it looked amazing and a ready excuse for going back to the Butcher Bar.
The mini trough was amazing but definitely feeds more than 3-4 people! So good and worth every penny. Excellent service.
We ordered the braised short rib toast and the slab of bacon for appetizers which were delicious.
For dinner we split the rotisserie jerk chicken entree which we did NOT enjoy . Chicken was very DRY and there was no jerk flavor at all . I would not order or recommend that dish to anyone . The chicken was not crisp on the outside … very soft like . I suggest to remove or adjust entree to enhance flavor .
Drinks were yummy! Ordered the butterfly effect .
Only issue that evening was the flickering of lights. Food, service, and ambiance besides the lights were great!
I went for Sunday brunch. My first time there. I was in the so-called patio garden which I thought was more like eating in someone's garage. I had a bloody mary that was way too spicy for me even I was told it was not. I had a variation on eggs benedict. Crab instead of ham . little of it and it was served on a biscuit which overpowered the delicate nature of the crabmeat. I got a different cocktail as I could not finish the bloody. I don't think I'll be back.
Delicious brunch and great service! Highly recommend the French toast sticks
I didn't want an outside table so we had to change tables...it was very hard to get an indoor table.
It was super swaggy
butcher bar is a jack of all trades master of none nouveau burgers and whiskey-type joint. they can’t prepare anything well, but they prepare it enough to make it edible. not crazy expensive but still disappointing.
Everything was excellent
Great tasting food and very reasonably priced. The italian meatballs and mac n cheese were favorites
Great dinner, great 16 oz ribeye, great dessert. Will be back
Trip to Philly for wife’s conference.
Place is really cool and staff is very nice. Good selection of draft beers. Food was so so - my vegetarian eggplant meatball dish was way too spicy to eat.
