we got a plethora of appetizers and shared one entree; all of the food was delicious. the only thing I wasn't a fan of was the butcher's punch, that didn't taste good to me at all. my favorite item we got was the Korean short ribs!

Went on Father's day for brunch. Food was delicious- however french toast was deep fried- which was NOT stated on menu and not what I expected. Water was served in glass carafe- cute but no ice and water was warm. Waiter was excellent, friendly and exceeded in customer service. atmosphere was adorable and hip .

Food was amazing, we bought several appetizers rather than getting a bigger meal. Jalapeno cornbread is out of this world. Service was amazing and ambience as outstanding. We sat "outside" and felt great. Chef John provides great food and a welcoming atmosphere.
We didn’t feel it was worth the price. Lamb chops were deep fried which is just against the nature of lamb chops. And they were quite chewy. Boar ribs were overcooked. Mashed potatoes and roasted cauliflower ended up being the best meals.
Amazing experience, can’t wait to go back.
The food was good except for a side dish that arrived at our table before the main dish and was cold. The drinks were perfect. The waiter seemed to be preoccupied and it seemed like he kept trying to leave even though we were not finish placing our orders. He seem to forget about our orders which might be why some of it was cold. I think I would give this place another chance and hopefully we get a better waiter.
Service attempted to be prompt but the electricity went out just as we placed our order and then the placed filled with smoke.No AC or fans working on a 90+ degree afternoon. We left…will try again. Was supposed to be a birthday celebration. Disappointing but not their fault
Steakhouse quality with a chill vibe. Nice cocktails and very nice whiskey selection. Servers were nice as well. Liked the outdoor backyard set up.
Expensive but meats are excellent, sides less so.

Butcher Bar underwhelmed me. I'd chosen it because I'd been looking for a steak place that wasn't super pricey. Butcher Bar seemed to fit the bill. But it's really, really not a steak place. I would characterize it as a hipster-ish bar that also serves pretty good, meat-centric food. By "hipster-ish" I don't mean anything negative. I'm just describing the atmosphere and aesthetic. By "pretty good" I mean just that, nothing special, nothing terrible. Although the reviews led me to hope for more.
I'd been intrigued by the "sloppy joe poutine," as my kids love poutine and cheese fries and also sloppy joes. Sadly, that appetizer hits on the best of none. It's a plate of fries topped with a huge mess of ground meat. No discernible gravy, which usually makes the poutine. No discernible sloppy joe sauce. No discernible cheese sauce. Just a mass of ground stuff dumped on fries. Let me just say that there were a LOT of leftovers, and my 3 kids usually leave nothing when it comes to fries.
As a main dish I ordered the Korean short ribs. They were very heavy on bones, very short on meat. A few mouthfuls at most.
One son got the wild boar ribs. He liked them reasonably well. The other son got the game hen and said that it was OK. My daughter got a pasta and ate about 1/3 of it.
Our server was a very nice young man who paid us tragically few visits, apparently occupied with other tables in a restaurant that was about 2/3 full. He failed to bring my second beer and also forgot about our order of plain fries. At least he didn't charge us for them, so there's that.
It's hard to say how much of this "meh" experience could be attributed to late-pandemic disruptions (it was early June 2021), and how likely it is that things would be much better on a different visit. With all of the city's great restaurant offerings, I'm unlikely to find out. Perhaps you'll have better luck.

The food was amazing and our servers were very friendly
5 of us came for brunch on Sunday (since they only have 1 day of brunch) and were sat in the cold outdoor area, when it was clear that the heated outdoor area had plenty of open tables. We waited 30 minutes to receive our first drink, our waiter checked on our table a total of 3 times during a 1.5 hour meal. The service was unbearable. They were out of 3-4 things on the very limited menu, including chicken. I’m not sure how they ran out of chicken at 1 pm on their only day of serving brunch. We had to ask a bus boy to grab our waiter, and our waiter came over and said “I heard you needed something”, when all of our drinks had been empty for 20 mins. Then we get the final bill to see we are nickeled and dimed for everything, including a 20% fixed gratuity (we did NOT have 20% tip quality service) and a “liquor tax” - I live in Philly and have never had to paid a “liquor tax” at a restaurant. I am very disappointed and will not be back. They need to fix this.

First time being at Butcher Bar and will have to say; it should always be a mainstay! The food was delicious, the ambience was great. Service was exceptional as well. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
A few friends and I made the reservation to celebrate a 40th and 41st birthday. We didn’t get to celebrate last year and wanted to all get together this year. When we arrived there was a little confusion about what we should do. The hostess told us our table wasn’t ready yet, which was fine. We didn’t know where we could wait, so we waited outside at an empty table. I asked if we could get a drink and stand by the bar, the hostess told us no, that we had to be seated at the bar. I asked if we could get drinks from the bar and take them outside to the table, we were told to ask the bartender. When we asked the bartender he said no, because those tables were for people with reservations. I told him we had a reservation and the hostess told us that no tables were available. He said I don’t know why they said that, but we could grab a drink and stand by the bar. Which the hostess had told us we couldn’t do. Needless to say, very confusing arrival, I blame it on COVID protocols and not the restaurant.
We had a drink, about 10 min later our table was ready. Our server was great, we ordered a bunch of stuff for the table and shared. The thick cut bacon and the grilled short ribs were the highlight of the meal. The duck confit wings were also excellent.
Great food, great drinks, great service. This was our first time dining out since the start of the pandemic, and it was such a good experience. Definitely coming back soon!
Spot was really nice - we were in the back “outdoor” space. The meal started great - drinks and apps were amazing. However the mains didn’t hit the mark. Filet was dry and ribs were really tough and not really warm. Will probably come again for happy hour and focus on the good parts.
Such a great experience. Fantastic cocktails, delicious food and the ambience is really cool. Get. The. Butcher. Board. It is so worth the price. I love charcuterie boards especially when they offer unique things. The duck prosciutto blew me away it was so so good. All in all chefs kiss will definitely return in the future!
Awesome dinner! Our waiter was great, gave good suggestions and attentive. The patio area by the bar is nicer than the inside dining—more open and perfect for when the weather’s nice. Food and cocktails were amazing. Will be back!

My boyfriend and I were in town for a wedding and knew we wanted to get brunch the morning after. We had first gone to the Butcher Bar in Sept 2019 for one of our first dates and loved the peanut butter bacon burger, so we decided to celebrate being back in the city with a return visit to the Butcher Bar for brunch - delicious!!! The pancake special was chocolate chip pancakes (my boyfriend’s favorite) and we ate as much bacon as we could stand :) We sat upstairs which was quiet and bright with the floor to ceiling windows, and our server was attentive and very friendly.
It was cold. We had reservations for inside but sat next to the open door leading to the outside.
Was expecting more flavor in the ribeye - was blah.
Surprised they screwed up my filet as bad as they did. Otherwise. Very tasty.
