The Butcher Bar
The ribs were bomb
Had a great time. It is a nice bar with great food. Our server was fantastic too and guided us through the food and drink menus.
I have been to Butcher Bar many time. This visit was not a great experience. We had to send back the rib, very salty, noise level was impossible to talk and it was very hot in the back room.
Dine in on a Sunday night. Food was excellent but servers need to improve on their service. Restaurant was not busy at all. Had 2 rounds of beer each of them took over 15-20 minutes. Also took more time ,no where to be found when wanting to order more and walked pass by us when we where ready to close out.
Second time visiting and the food was just as amazing as the first visit , opted for a pasta dish and friend had the prime rib (go on a Sunday). Peanut Butter cheesecake for dessert, so good.
Really enjoyed this experience! The food was amazing and complimented by great service. The is a must for anyone looking for something a bit different for a date night or even a group outing. I will be returning with a group for the butcher board!
Phenomenal! Wonderful! Went there 2 weeks ago and had to go again. Highly recommend!
The food is really good. Portions are not huge but it is very tasty. Italian sausage, eggplant meatballs, Brussel sprouts with cauliflower. All great. I was a bit annoyed that they charged me $20 for a 2 Oz glass of Ryemagedon. That's like charging $20 for a shot of Titos.
Excellent food and service as usual.
I was in back in April and again this weekend. The food is good, the concept and space is good, but the service both times was fair (and I’m being kind). Both at the patio bar where the bartender wasn’t particularly anxious to get us another round and the table service, where it took 15-20 mins to get acknowledged by the waiter. Ultimate ly another guy was helping him out and he seemed interested, but overall...not so much.
Take a good objective look at the wait staff. I want to like it there!
Interesting menu. Great atmosphere. We ate in the outdoor section-it was really nice.
The beers were great- but the pretzel monkey bread and dips were incredible. Already know that is a staple every time we go back- which will be often for sure!
Everything was absolutely fantastic! First time here...won't be our last. Best burger ever. Char flavor, housemade sauce, housemade pickles, housemade 'ketchup' for excellent fries. My husband had the Huevos Rancheros and loved it. Cheers.
Having never heard of the Butcher Bar, it was a phenomenal surprise. With no expectations, the steak was incredible, the portions lived in the Goldilocks zone, the sides were fantastic, the service was some of the best in Philly, and the tap list had something for everyone. It is a bit pricey but not unduly so especially for its neighborhood. If there are any cons to consider, the atmosphere was a little cramped, but again, for a Friday, our reservation saw us seated immediately.
Bring your appetite and your friends.
The food was delicious. The drinks were even better. The atmosphere was cozy. The service was on point and very kind. Will definitely be going back very soon!!!!!!
Excellent food and staff
Awesome experience with lots of dishes to share. Favorites were the korean short ribs, fall off the bone confit duck wings with sweet and spicy glaze, the corn bread soaked in maple syrup and the sausage plate. The Italian meatballs were fine, nothing special and the bone marrow was a little lacking. Overall really fun culinary experience.
Overall experience was good for lunch. Burger and fries were outstanding, as was the fried chicken sandwich and BLT. The Pulled pork hoagie was mediocre and weakest of the 4 meals we chose as a group. If you are in the market for a good burger (or fried chicken) and fries, this isn't a bad spot (also, decor and ambiance was pretty cool - even if it was a faux butchery vs the real thing.
Such a cute, fun, rustic vibe! We had an absolute blast on our date night! It was the perfect dinner date before we headed to Helium Comedy Club
Great place and food
The services was very friendly and fast. The food was done as we ordered, but the mashed potatoes were more of a purée giving an odd texture. The cauliflower was a little more al dente than we like. The price for the small drink was too high.
Husband and I met over our lunch breaks. Good was great, service a little slower for lunch time but I think the waitress was a little overwhelmed- maybe someone called off? Nothing too bad. Decent beer selection. Will be back!
Great food, friendly and attentive staff. Other then it being chilly (our food got cold very quickly) it was a lovely meal!
Good drinks, beer and food. If you're hungry for meatballs, sausage, steak and Mac and Cheese this is your place! Staff is attentive and helpful. Lots of good whiskey drinks. We will be back!
The food was good, but the service was a bit slow. The ambiance was great, sat outside and it was a beautiful day. The inside is also very nice. I recommend the chocolate chip cookie w/Nutella!!
The Butcher Bar gives a customer an excellent dining experience. Their wood fire 12 oz strip steak was done to perfection and the cast iron chocolate cookie with Nutella desert was also delicious.
I will definitely will be coming back to the Butcher Bar when I’m back in Philly.
The food was amazing and I enjoyed it.
Food is fantastic and the service was excellent ... wait staff are excellent. Food was cooked and seasoned perfectly
Amazing place all around! The but her board was phenomenal, Poutine, Gouda Mac and cheese cornbread ribs all amazing! Staff were on point and the drinks were refreshing and delicious
Great service. Waitress was amazing. Steak was over cooked. Slightly overpriced. Noise level was severely loud due to neighboring table
Good food, not all beers are available so beware. The feast looks ridiculous but with the right size group probably makes sense. Nice change of pace place to try.
From the moment we finally found the door the experience was confusing. The hostess told us if we sat at the bar we probably couldn't be seated later..however our whole dining experience was over in 22 minutes..and the restaurant looked the same as it did the 20 minutes prior to arrival. The Mexican meatballs were dry.. my margarita was tasty but about 2 ounces too short..upon asking the server why that was, he responded that's just the way the drink is supposed to be sorry. Cute spot, won't be back.
I brought my family up here to try the oven-roasted bone marrow. One of the managers immediately remembered me from a previous visit during Center City Sips the week prior (which was amazing since the restaurant was busy). I received the friendliest greeting from him. Don’t remember his name but he has really cool earrings and wears Hawaiian shirts (you’ll know him when you see him) lol. Once we sat down our server Arnold was on top of everything. He was so kind, patient and took the time to actually have a short convo with us, extremely pleasant young man.
Anyways, we ordered the oven-roasted bone marrow which was AMAZING like usual... so succulent and also ordered the grilled octopus confit. The zucchini/onion/tomato salad balanced that octopus extremely well.
The ambiance was amazing, the people are amazing & the food is out of this world!!!
Still one of the best burgers
Food was just ok. Beef was over cooked. Table next to us also sent their meal back.
Food was never less than pretty good, but rarely rose to the level we had expected.
Food and staff were excellent. Prices a bit higher than expected. Atmosphere pretty noisy, but in a fun way. We'll be back.
Great variety of comfort food and unconventional food. Exceptional service.
Ate on patio. Food was delicious. Phillie’s 76 cocktail was amazing. Would recommend.
The food all sounds really great but as a whole it was pretty average. It's a pretty small place inside and we were next for a very loud birthday group of hipsters.
Great experience. Good food and great service. Though on the rather spendy side, I do recommend The Butcher Bar.
