It was my first out since the pandemic hit and it was also my first time attending! I loved it!!!
Very good food!
Food was excellent and they have put all the safety precautions in place and the ambiance is still great. We will be back soon.
Delicious food! Would go back again in a heartbeat
Great place to sit at the bar or grab a table for dinner! Food is delicious
It was a quiet meal and we had a good variety of foods for a great cost!
Food was exceptional. The table we got was in a corner near the stairs so there was a lot of people always walking by our table which is not a confortable way to eat.
Jon, our waiter, was a rockstar. We had such a great time and the food was amazing.
Great cocktails! Very helpful staff and fun, yummy food.
While it is Valentine’s Day weekend he menu was mostly sold out. Our order took very long to come and was missing entrees. I genuinely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone it’s pretty mediocre at best. The manager did come and speak to us however overall it was pretty underwhelming.
We arrived late for our reservation by ended up waiting about 20 min for a table, even though there were quite a few two tops. No real explanation. Ok? Appetizers came out cold. When they finally came back out after being sent back, they were warm (certainly not hot though). Manager came out to apologize and took them off check and gave us a free round of drinks, which was appreciated. Things happen, so no big deal. However, then the entrees eventually came out and the duck was inedible and hard to even look at. We ordered medium. Came out raw. Not rare, raw. At this point, we decided to cut our losses. I split my burger with my wife and we buried the duck under plates so as to not have to look at it (one breast looked ok, but raw. The other looked misshaped and full of sinews) or discuss with staff. We just wanted to go. Waiter was a good guy. Wasn’t his fault. Would not return.
Overall mediocre. We went out to the patio bar since we were 20 minutes early for the reservation. The bartender took his time getting to us. It’s a small bar and we were barely acknowledged. We were not offered a drink menu and I had to get one from another guest. He chit chat with other guests and shook hands with them before taking our order. He was in NO RUSH. Three of the four of us have served, bartended, and managed for years and we had a couple questions about the drink menu - simple things like “is this drink very sweet” or “is there a lot of juice in it”. The questions were met with sarcasm from the slow bartender who thought it was funny to speak down to his guests. My friend asked if a drink had a lot of mixers or if it was more alcohol forward. She prefers cocktails when they are balanced and don’t rely on a lot of juice. The bartender picked up a bottle of whisky and suggested that if she wanted alcohol forward she should just order that. Yikes. He then took FOREVER to “craft” the cocktails.
Four cocktails came to a whopping $60! My husband and my friend’s husband both got old-fashioneds that were so ungodly sweet. My drink was fine, but nothing I’d order again. Same for my friend.
Then it was time to be sat. We were told that the table they were going to give us had a party they were waiting to leave. 15 minutes past reservation time the other group had not left and we were left at the bar to wait some more. Finally, a table near the bar opened up and I had to ask to seat us there. Why am I doing the host’s job, you ask? Good question.
Dinner was mediocre. The wedge salad was good. The Mac and cheese was good. The burger was ok. It was just all ok.
I likely won’t go back based on this experience.
The seating area wasn’t ideal. We were places literally right outside the bathroom on the second floor. Food was ok - nothing special.
I really liked the style of this place and the food was pretty good. Maybe I am too used to Texas style cooking because it was very obvious the meals lacked salt. Salt wasn't even on the tables. We noticed a few other diners asking for salt as well. Other than that, everything was great.
I wanted to try everything on the menu all at once! All the food was incredible. I would recommend this to everyone.
A great place to meet friends for a casual meal. The beer and spirits list is impressive. The Burger Royale, fries and special sauce was yummy. Next time, maybe fried chicken sandwich?
It was a fun place to go food was good a bit to noisy but we enjoyed it.
Expected much better meat due to name of restaurant. Great feel and great idea, but food doesn’t match the ambience.
Overall a nice experience.
Great Food! Great Service! Nice Casual upscale Bar!
Visited there for my first time over the weekend. Had made reservations. Been to a hundreds of restaurants and our waitress made have been the best I've ever experienced. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Food was amazing and drinks were made perfectly. Maybe the best mac and cheese (side dish) I ever had. Made with smoked gouda cheese. Can't wait to go back.
Great brunch with delicious food
Took my kids 19 )
The food was incredibly under seasoned and undercooked. There was no salt on any item and both our spicy Italian sausage and bacon slab were practically not cooked at all. The undercooked sausage was served with raw peppers and onions. After our appetizer round we decided to not put an order for entrees and we went to another restaurant. This was the first time my girlfriend and I left a restaurant like this before. Its possible the head chef was not on the line this night, but we will not be recommending this restaurant to friends and family. Very disappointing.
food was awesome but waiter was the best!!! I highly recommend the bone marrow and next time will enjoy the patio
We sat in the back room which has some interesting decor. It was kinda cool outside, but the room was nicely warm. I appreciated that. The service was very friendly and our server was very attentive and had a good attitude towards serving us. The food was quite delicious and of a good size. The skillet cookie was amazing. Definitely worth the trip out. Thumbs up!
This place is awesome! One of our favorite in the city, we often take guests there visiting Philadelphia for the first time. The food, service, and atmosphere go together quite nicely. The bone marrow is a must if you go here, and you can’t go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu!
Great place! Stopped for lunch. Made reservation because does get pretty packed. Food great too. Different takes on usual. Will go back for dinner.
Great place. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Awesome service!
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time dining here for her birthday! She had been wanting to go at the urging of multiple friends. We both really enjoyed your signature cocktails as well as your selection of beers. We ended up ordering multiple appetizers and splitting them and we weren’t disappointed!
The strip steak was tough and gristly. Kind of surprising for a steakhouse.
Wonderful evening, delicious food, lovely atmosphere, and the highlight was the perfect service by Shawn. She's a treasure!
Food was all good, service was slow, took 45 minutes just to get appetizer
Food and service was very good. We were seated right by the back door that people were constantly opening and allowing to slam shut. Very annoying.
We were seated right away with our reservations. The place had great atmosphere. Our drinks and food were amazing and the service was great! The prices were a little more than I’d usually spend, but it was for a friend’s birthday before a comedy show. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
I took 3 friends for their first time visit. We all enjoyed our food. My wedge salad was perfect and I brought half of it home, the portion was very large, easily shared. The other dishes were tasty and appropriately sized. (The week before, at another restaurant, the server told me that my duck breast and confit, which weighed 6 oz at most, was enough to share for 3 people! ) After that fiasco, we were all very happy with the portions.
We all recommend The Butcher Bar, fun place to eat, a diverse crowd, dining and serving and overall a good value.
Amazing food! I absolutely loved it here, not too badly priced either.
The food here is so good. I went with the intention of getting the Royal with cheese, but when our waiter, Malik, described the branzino special, I couldn’t resist. It was a good call and even better b/c my husband order a second burger for the table to share.
This place has never disappointed us. We’ve gone back several times and I’m sure we will again.
Great casual place for friends! Very noisy so if you are trying to have a real conversation just be aware. Food is always amazing and service is attentive. Love ordering multiple apps & sides and share it all!
