Great service! Food was overall good and all of the appetizers and sides were excellent, but steaks were under cooked by a decent bit. Had to send one back. The rest of the food was great, drinks were good.
Sublime dining experience. Food is outstanding. Exemplary service.
This restaurant was everything we hoped for and more. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, the service was great, and the ambiance was lovely. High quality food and fairly large portions for the price. I will definitely be returning in the future.
Food was excellent !
Wonderful staff and great food. The flavors of sides paired with the melt in your mouth filet mignon made for a wonderful date night.
Tables are in the same room as the bar so the ambiance is 4 star. Food and service were great.
The food was awesome! We sat at the bar, at our request. Our bartender, Kiya, was amazing! She had such a wonderful passion when explaining the different menu options. She made the evening very special.
My husband is allergic to all fish and seafood. Server and chef very helpful in choosing food my husband could enjoy. He was disappointed he could not eat the empanadas but chef sent out delicious chicken wings for him. Very sweet to do that.
We all enjoyed our food, especially my fillet mignon, cooked perfectly and the short rib gnocchi
Excellent service and good food. We had the charcuterie board and Argentinian Experience platter.
Holly was an amazing server who had everything we needed without a single menu reference. Ribeye, gnocchi, bruschetta, and espresso martinis were all spot on. Maddie even changed the game on the tv for us. Everything i wanted and nothing i expected.
Outstanding food- really delicious. Great ambience
We were pleasantly surprised by the food ! Everything was amazing! Would definitely recommend for any occasion! The strip steak and gnocchi were my favorite !
We loved it. The steaks were amazing! The service was very personable.
The steak was not good i came for my birthday and the quality of food and the teak was small i was referral by a friend and talk very highly of restaurant they said the steak was worth paying 39 dollars but i was not happy and did not have a amazing experience for my birthday.
Delicious with great bourbon craft cocktails!
Amazing food - empanadas, Caesar Salad, and the steaks were amazing! Highly recommend, we will certainly be going back.
This was our first time dining and enjoyed everything. We'll definitely go back!
We had been meaning to try Butcher and Barrel for forever and finally made it Saturday night with friends. Love Alfio and think he is an amazing chef. Butcher and Barrel did not disappoint. Service was spot on. Gabriella was attentive, made great suggestions and even helped us split entrees so we could try multiple things. My wife and I split the Short Rib Gnocchi and Prime Rib Cannelloni. Both were excellent. The sauces stood out here on both dishes bringing the meat forward in the dish. The Gnocchi has s truffle mushroom sauce that is amazing. The Cannelloni had a red sauce that really complimented the baked on cheese and prime rib. Really could not have been happier and will be back soon!
Great. Service, food, wine and my date were all divine.
We enjoyed it. The waitress was friendly but I feel as though they were running short staffed... I saw the same 3 people running around for much of the night trying to multi task, the fountain drinks were forgotten for quite some time and there was a small mixup with the wine but overall the experience was good. They were accommodating to a few last minute seating changes for our party. Will definitely be back at some point. Really enjoyed the goat cheese salad, risotto, roasted veggies while others were pleased with the lamb.
From the host to the server to the food. All excellent. Best service. Great experience. Will definitely keep this place as a go to.
The Empanadas were as good or better than advertised! Great steak recommendation and the sides were shared by the table. Also I loved the classic chocolate cake for dessert.
Caution: Avoid this restaurant if you have an out-of-state drivers license, they will deny you drinks at the bar. Even valid out-of-state licenses were not accepted at this place, it ruined the atmosphere of the birthday party we were attending, and we will not be back to this place!
Christmas dinner with the family
The food was AWESOME! A little pricey but totally worth it. Would definitely go back for another special occasion
Overall B&B is one of my new favorite places and I will definitely go back! The food is amaaazing and the place is very cool. The spinach empanadas are delicious, the grilled Cesar salad was fanatic and the root veggies and meat sampler platter were incredible. My issues are being sat right next to the door while a cold wind kept blowing in every time the door opened, no list of specials to know that the bar has special pricing/offerings and no prices on the bourbon menu. No bourbon prices makes a place called “Barrel” hard to enjoy when you have to keep asking your sever to go back and check prices. Also, why have the TVs off at the bar when a UC basketball game is on?
Lots of potential here, but maybe I just had a bad plate. Wife and I split the $50 special - everything was fine, but nothing blew me away. Expected more for the price.
Amazing birthday dinner
Great service and atmosphere. I appreciated that the Santa-con attendees were not allowed in the restaurant. The overall experience was great. We loved the smoked pork belly empanadas and the prime burgers. The other food we tried was nice, but not excellent.
The food was good but a little overpriced. We tried the chicken, spinach and smoked pork belly empanadas. They were out of the crab empanadas but I would have liked to try those. The ribeye was flavorful and the gnocchi was good but the short rib was a little too fatty even for short ribs.
Meaty menu and great service. Cocktails were excellent. Atmosphere was comforting.
What a great atmosphere, delicious food and great service. If you like Alphios and Che, try B&B.
The food was good but I really miss their old "sharables" format. The "new" menu (for the past year) is now a regular entree type menu. The only really Argentinean thing about the menu are the empanadas on the appetizer menu. But the rest of the menu just looks like steak and pasta. Don't get me wrong - the food is good, but it's just not very unique (in a sea of a lot of good restaurants). There were some exceptional dishes on the old shareables menu that I miss.
Wonderful evening. Excellent carnivore experience.
Went for dinner before our show at the Aronoff. Enjoyed drinks and a relaxed dinner and made it to the show on time
The Butcher and Barrel is a restaurant that cares about the food and the customers. My wife and I went for my birthday and were thoroughly impressed with everything we ate.
We started with a pork belly empanada and a spinach empanada - both looked and tasted great.
We then had a Caprese salad with house-made mozzarella- the only drawback were the tomatoes weren’t great but it is late October.
For our main courses, my wife got a roasted chicken with risotto special - perfectly cooked, juicy and tasty. The prosciutto on top was nice. I got the Ojo de Bife, 14 oz ribeye prepared with a creamy mushroom Marsala, truffle mash, and Brussels.
We also got caramelized Brussels as a side and steak fries.
The sides are shareable and are huge.
Needless to say, we had food to take home and enjoy at another meal.
The service was top notch - our server was knowledgeable, helpful, and a delight. The chef came out and checked on us and thanked us for coming.
As I said before, we went to celebrate my birthday and they brought us a chocolate torte cake with raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries, with a raspberry compote - OOH LA LA!
The Butcher and Barrel is definitely a place we will return to soon.
This is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorite restaurants downtown! The flavor profiles and variety of choices are fantastic! The gnocchi is out of this world! Service is always great.
The Butcher and And Barrel was a very awesome restaurant. The host was great in seating us where we wanted to be seated. He gave us several options since we did have reservations. It was not that crowded at 7 PM on a Saturday night which concerned us. However the service food and drinks were excellent. Very large portions. My wife and I both had plenty of leftovers for the next day. I had the short rib and the next day the short rib and the eggs were delicious. My wife had the chicken it was also good the next day for her lunch. We will be back
the worst steak I have had in years. took one bite and could not chew it!
Accommodated our growing reservation in an area we could celebrate and enjoy the fun environment and delectable food.
