The food was good but a little overpriced. We tried the chicken, spinach and smoked pork belly empanadas. They were out of the crab empanadas but I would have liked to try those. The ribeye was flavorful and the gnocchi was good but the short rib was a little too fatty even for short ribs.
Meaty menu and great service. Cocktails were excellent. Atmosphere was comforting.
What a great atmosphere, delicious food and great service. If you like Alphios and Che, try B&B.
The food was good but I really miss their old "sharables" format. The "new" menu (for the past year) is now a regular entree type menu. The only really Argentinean thing about the menu are the empanadas on the appetizer menu. But the rest of the menu just looks like steak and pasta. Don't get me wrong - the food is good, but it's just not very unique (in a sea of a lot of good restaurants). There were some exceptional dishes on the old shareables menu that I miss.

The Butcher and Barrel is a restaurant that cares about the food and the customers. My wife and I went for my birthday and were thoroughly impressed with everything we ate.
We started with a pork belly empanada and a spinach empanada - both looked and tasted great.
We then had a Caprese salad with house-made mozzarella- the only drawback were the tomatoes weren’t great but it is late October.
For our main courses, my wife got a roasted chicken with risotto special - perfectly cooked, juicy and tasty. The prosciutto on top was nice. I got the Ojo de Bife, 14 oz ribeye prepared with a creamy mushroom Marsala, truffle mash, and Brussels.
We also got caramelized Brussels as a side and steak fries.
The sides are shareable and are huge.
Needless to say, we had food to take home and enjoy at another meal.
The service was top notch - our server was knowledgeable, helpful, and a delight. The chef came out and checked on us and thanked us for coming.
As I said before, we went to celebrate my birthday and they brought us a chocolate torte cake with raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries, with a raspberry compote - OOH LA LA!
The Butcher and Barrel is definitely a place we will return to soon.
This is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorite restaurants downtown! The flavor profiles and variety of choices are fantastic! The gnocchi is out of this world! Service is always great.

The Butcher and And Barrel was a very awesome restaurant. The host was great in seating us where we wanted to be seated. He gave us several options since we did have reservations. It was not that crowded at 7 PM on a Saturday night which concerned us. However the service food and drinks were excellent. Very large portions. My wife and I both had plenty of leftovers for the next day. I had the short rib and the next day the short rib and the eggs were delicious. My wife had the chicken it was also good the next day for her lunch. We will be back
the worst steak I have had in years. took one bite and could not chew it!
Accommodated our growing reservation in an area we could celebrate and enjoy the fun environment and delectable food.
We love Argentina & it’s food so when ever we travel we look for Argentine restaurants.
We were visiting our son in Cincinnati & decided to have dine our last night at Butcher & Barrel- it was excellent!!!!! Molly was our waitress who was fantastic! We all ordered the Lomo, cooked perfectly ay medium rare- absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back our next trip to Cincinnati!❤️❤️
Although they were out of a few items due to Blink; we did not suffer. Wonderful meal for us!
The food and service was amazing and went beyond our expectations, we would highly recommend this to everyone!

We sat for almost 20 minutes with no one coming over to get our drink order, give us menus, or anything. When I finally went to the hostess to get someone to help us, we did get someone. I had made reservations for a booth and mentioned that it was my husband‘s birthday. Unfortunately, No one checked the details of our reservation when I said we had a reservation and we were seated at a small table in the bar and told that all the booths were reserved???) We moved to a small table outside, had an excellent waitress who had served us previously, and when we finally finally got our food it was very good and my husband got a dessert Because if our long wait.Overall, the experience experience was very disappointing. We picked this restaurant for his birthday because we had been there previously and loved it.

Empanadas are fantastic! Skirt steak was wonderful. Got the sausage plate too, I can’t suggest the blood sausage, it’s just not for me. Food was very tasty and if you want something unique I suggest it. I’m still thinking of the Smoked pork belly empanada!
Our meal during Restaurant Week was AMAAAAZING! This is definitely my new favorite steak restaurant in the Cincinnati area.

We came for restaurant week and all ate off of the prix fix menu. The options were great and we really got a lot for the price. It’s been two days and I still can’t stop thinking about the bacon wrapped filet and lobster gnocchi. Hands down, the best part of the meal, had to be the service. Our waitress was top of the line. She was personable but not too chatty and was extremely knowledgeable about everything we asked, as it was our first time there. Someone in our party is gluten free and she knew exactly what options were available, we had a couple questions about drinks and she was quick with answers and suggestions on everything we needed. Overall, great food and great experience. 10/10 will be back and will recommend (I actually already have 😂)

I was there for Restaraunt week - great choices and value. I had the lamb shank along with asparagus risotto which was out of this world, the best I’ve had since my last trip to Florence Italy.

The food was very good! We sat at the bar and it was difficult to get timely service. We would still recommend the place though! I would eat there again.
Everything was great.
The music was quite load and distracting. However, when asked if it could be turned down, staff took care immediately. Enjoyed the food, both taste and choices.
They don’t have enough servers so the service is quite spotty.
We went early on Saturday after an afternoon show. The restaurant was easy to find on the corner, and as we were early we sat in the bar area and ordered a bottle of wine. While the wine list was not extensive, the bartender was very helpful in narrowing down the wines we might be interested in.
When our table was ready, we were seated at a cozy table near the back. Our server was cheerful and after confirming we had our drinks gave us plenty of time to review and decide on our entrees as we inndicated we were in no hurry.
The steaks were delicious, and the truffle mashed potatoes were the best I have ever tasted. The portions were hearty and very worth the price point. Would definitely encourage others to check it out!
Our service was excellent and the food was fantastic. We tried the brussel sprouts, risotto, gnocchi (side) and gnocchi pasta meal- all were delicious. Highly recommend for date night or everyday dining.

Such unique food that was absolutely delicious. The serving sizes are quite large. My boyfriend and I shared a main plate and 2 sides. We even had leftovers. The waitress was great! She explained the whole menu to us so we could truly decide what we would like. We will be back!
Very nice place. Servers are friendly and do a fine job. We really like the food. Filet mignon was excellent per 2 people. Gnocchi and spare ribs were very delicious. Very good mussels. Been there 4 times. Will definitely return.
