The Burnham Restaurant
The restaurant did not have my Open Table reservation. Had to prove I had one. Asked for bread. Was told no. Ordered a steak. No steak knife provided. Not what one would expect at a pricyrestaurant.
One of our steaks was a little over cooked (it happens) and 2 managers plus the sous chef checked on our table to ensure the issue was resolved. They comp’d a round of drinks and fashioned a custom order dessert for me because I was in the mood for macaroons and there weren’t any on the menu. Despite being a little overpriced, the service really made up for it. Would highly recommend the basil lemonade cocktail as well. We will be back.
A good place overall, but something of a mixed bag. My martini had too much vermouth, and I dislike the practice of not providing a bread basket but instead charging for "special" rolls. In addition, the side dish of Brussels sprouts was served a little too al dente for my taste. On the plus side, the pea soup was very tasty (and warm), and the salmon entree was moist and fresh, although the promised asparagus was almost nowhere to be found.
Everyone was extremely courteous and ensured that my experience was nothing short of wonderful. Thank you!
Went for mother’s day brunch. Delicious food, plenty of different foods available. Great mimosa and Bloody Mary Bar. Excellent service, great views looking out onto the mall.
Amazing Mother’s Day brunch
Our experience at the Burnham for Mother’s Day brunch was top notch. Our server, James, was incredible. He was friendly, attentive and so personable. The food (buffet style, only better) was the best brunch buffet my family and I have ever been to, Cleveland beyond. We will be back for more holidays. It was simply outstanding.
Stopped in for early dinner...
Crab cake appetizer was wonderful and the salad with sweet onion dressing and "honeyed" oats was very tasty, too.
Server was more interested in her phone than in our table. Actually had better service from a neighboring waitress than our own
The restaurant was Good: should be above the Just OK level. Very nice though
My daughters and I had a wonderful experience dining at the Burnham last Saturday evening. The drinks, the appetizers, the entrees and the service were all the best I’ve had in a very long time. Highly recommended. I cannot wait to return!
Service was terrific. I had two business "breakfasts" and a group dinner. All went very well. Everyone loved the food and service was top notch.
Worse buffet I have been to in an expensive Hilton Hotel. Staff had no urgency and food ran out at buffet. Took a long time for more food to be brought out. The line for an omelet was over 10 minutes. Total waste of time and money
Our server Cella was outstanding. Personable, attentive, and compassionate.
Kudos to her for her effort.
Our food was sooo salty. My salmon and rice i could barely get down. My friends steak was also really salty. The desserts were amazing though! The service was great! They just need to dial in the chef! Also the review said it was on top of the hilton so we were expecting great views over the lake. This was not true & disappointing.
Overall ok. We had a reservation. Seated right away, right in the path of everything in front of the check in (terrible for a reservation). Menu is very small. I got the burger, it was very good. Husband got a kielbasa dish. It was a very small portion. He was still hungry. Nice server. Long wait times. Very average.
Food was delicious. Service was professional. Atmosphere was beautiful and serene. We were seated promptly at our reservation time and greeted nicely.
Fabulous food, crab cake, salad, rolls, desert, wine. Everything was superb. Great service. Love the place. Love the Hilton.
The menu options are very limited and they rarely have specials. They need to add some variety to the menu and the prices are a bit out of sync for what you get. I guess the prices are high because you are basically held captive at the hotel when the weather is bad. If the weather is better when you travel to Cleveland- you are better off searching for other restaurants a few blocks away.
I was disappointed. Service was extremely slow. It probably took 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Yes, it was lunch time, and the restaurant was busy, but our server was oblivious to the fact that we were not served, and there were no supervisors checking on service. Moreover, it was pretty clear, once our servicer woke up to the fact that we had not been served, that the order was somehow lost in the shuffle. As for the food, I found the menu surprisingly devoid of "healthy choices". There are salads, but no protein on them, nor invitations on the menu to add a protein. Also, it's odd that the menu does not indicate that sandwiches come with a choice of fries, salad or fruit (I believe).
I would have to say that there are missed opportunities here to provide a better set of choices on the menu, and the service certainly needs an upgrade.
Overpriced for the quality of food and service. Entrees arrived while appetizers were still on the table. No one was at hostess table for quite some time when we arrived. We tried to walk around to find someone, and wandered to the bar to see if we were missing something.
Nice, handy place to lunch at the Convention Center. Locally-sourced food on the menu, very helpful staff.
Great service in four visits this week (in town for a conference). The food is well-prepared, not among the very best restaurants, but still fine. Good atmosphere, not great. Omelettes are custom made and outstanding. Again, the service was excellent every minute of each visit.
Steve was our server and he was just fantastic. The food was so delicious. We will definitely be back. Great experience!
Food was great...atmosphere - too loud...could not hear others at our table...to bright
Also, very expensive!
Bare tables one step removed from Formica. Failed effort to “modernize “ traditional ethnic food. Competent, if uninspired, service. Significantly overpriced.
My husband and I had a fantastic dinner at The Burnham. The food was definitely a highlight. We enjoyed the greens and artichoke dip, pull apart rolls, and a side of broccolini for appetizers. For entrees, we had the chicken and steak. My chicken was five stars for sure. My husband steak was cooked well, but the presentation was less impressive than mine.
Our server was attentive. However, we were never offered dessert and probably would have ordered if we were. Overall though, our experience was great and we will definitely be back.
We went for brunch prior to the final home Brown game. The atmosphere is nice and the food was good. The service was awful. I had to approach the server to let him know we wanted the brunch and were headed. I had to walk over to the server to ask for two mimosas. I had to go to the wait stand to get a picture of water and put our tables glasses. I had to get up each time we needed refills of coffee or water. It was atrocious. I saw other tables putting their hands up in the air w disbelief. That server had no business working the tables at this nice venue. How tough can it be when everyone is there for brunch. Serve water and coffee and take a couple drink orders. I don’t buy that he was overwhelmed.
Great before a Browns game. The brunch was perfect.
My family went there before going to the theater and we cannot say enough good things about our experience. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was comfortable yet refined, and the prices were reasonable for the high quality of the food and the portion sizes. We will without a doubt be returning.
We had "high hopes" for the "Burnham" based on the reviews that we read. Unfortunately, we had marginal service, and the food was not great. I was with a group of 4, and had ordered a burger, which came super well done, and was the size of a McDonalds burger. The waiter forgot to bring our appetizer, but then failed to take it off the bill. Ambience was nice, but overall disappointing.
Food was good and everyone enjoyed it, but the service was incredibly slow and there was hardly anyone on the restaurant. Server was nowhere to be found, slow to refill beverages, and slow to pick up check at the end of the meal.
Noticed the same thing the following morning at breakfast, so I think it had more to do with the kitchen than any one server.
Food was decent, nice decor and overall ambiance was nice for a business meeting.
As bad as it gets! Generic hotel cafeteria style dining room.
Service was the worst imaginable as the waitress forgot to put our order in AND never came back to check on us. Only after flagging down a manager did we finally get our food after an hour wait. Waitress later breezed by and apologized with a careless smirk.
At least the meal was free after enduring abysmal service. But it wasn't worth the aggravation. Many many better places to dine where they actually care.
The server did not how to serve and was rude. Table was not clean.
We both ordered lunch and mine came quite quickly. But somehow, MH's lunch order got misplaced and did not arrive for some time. She finally had to mention it to our server.
Quick, amiable hotel restaturant staff, who are skilled and helpful. Portions were ample. Fairly standard menu.
I have been to Burnham a few times. Initially, I thought the service was terrible because they were recently opened. The second time I thought: they really needed to get the service aspect together. This time, there were very few people there, so no reason at all for the terrible service. The person at the front acted like she was unhappy that she had to show us to a table. The server never came to the table (although she was walking around) until the bar person noticed how unhappy we were and called out to her. She also acted that she was not happy that customers were there. Odd.
DISAPPOINTING: The restaurant itself is nice. We were a little disappointed from there. The menu options were minimal . We each ordered the burger, mine with a side salad and my husband's with fries. I also ordered a cup of the cauliflower soup. Our burgers were served and they were good, but my husband 's fries were a cold. I never did get the soup I ordered and the waiter seemed very distracted as we called him over to tell him to take the missing soup off of our bill. We finished dinner and the waiter was nowhere to be found. After an unusually long wait, we asked the bartender to try to find him. Finally he brought our bill and we left. Our experience did not make us feel we would return anytime soon.
I took my staff with me to the Burnham on break from a trade show at the adajacent venue. Great food, quick service and great atmosphere to have a conversation.
