The food was tasty, the staff was friendly, and they gave great food and drink suggestions! Looking forward to going back.
I love dining here. My waitress also had Celiac Disease...so she knew the drill. My dinner was amazing. We were never rushed and thoroughly enjoyed each course.
A little heads up...on Sunday nights they tended to be out of a few things. It was fine because our alternate choices were wonderful. If you get disappointed easily choose another night to go.
Port Costa is a town that time has forgotten, you feel like you are on a movie set of an old western. The food was delicious ad service friendly. I will definitely go back.
I had the beef with mushrooms and arugula, everything about it was perfect, as was the side of baked Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. Two of the best meat and potato dishes I've ever had. I appreciated the variety of non-alcoholic drinks they offered. The whole place is oozing rustic antique charm but be prepared, some of the tables I'm not well lit.
Great brunch, cocktails, service, atmosphere, and town!
Fantastic! Outstanding hash, over the top polenta with mushrooms and of course the chicken and waffle were great. Terrific service Well worth the drive. Can't wait Togo back. Delicious and friendly.
The food was the star-followed by fantastic cocktails
My husband and I both agreed that this may have been the best dinner we've ever had. We had brussel sprouts, mix green salad, salmon, pork stew and yukon gold potatoes. As we tasted each dish, we were amazed by the mix of flavors, how they were each cooked to perfection and the mixture of ingredients. We kept looking at each other amazed by just how good each bite was.
We will certainly return and have already told friends of our wonderful dining experience.
Overall an enjoyable evening with friends. We all shared the opinion that the food was over seasoned. The fried Brussels sprouts were overpowered by a spice rub— we left most. Parking was a horrible dirt lot, with giant divots. You will need to be careful and use phone flashlight. Street parking is limited. Service was very good. While I don’t think I would come back for dinner, I would try brunch, and explore the few shops close by.
The fried chicken and biscuits are to die for!!! Yummy mash potatoes. Exotic cocktails and lovely herbal tea with dessert.
Love this place! It’s so versatile. Great for romantic date or family dining. Food is top shelf. The non- alcoholic mixed drinks are delicious.
Our meal was outstanding service was perfect the chicken was the best I've ever had.
Super fun and unexpected. Great food and at
First time for my wife and I to dine here. It was great in every way (food, service, ambience, etc.)!! We'll definitely be back.
This is one of our favorite spots to eat in the Bay Area. The service and food are consistantly great every time. Always get a reservation if you can because Friday/Saturday’s are always very busy. Awesome spot, worth the drive.
We had a delicious, high quality meal with wonderful and attentive service.
Atmosphere and drive there awesome. Food solid but overpriced. Service slow but friendly. Nice night romantic lighting.
Everything was delicious - we had an excellent time! Thank you, Bull Valley!
Always an amazing dinner. The winter risotto and brussel sprouts were over the top!
Menu is consistantly seasonal. Great food and atmosphere.
This was the second time we went to the Bull Valley Roadhouse for a birthday dinner. Knowing that it is loud there, we reserved a specific corner table were we would be a bit "sheltered" from the surrounding noise conversations which made our experience more enjoyable.
We had the Fried chicken, Heirloom lettuce and Mac and Cheese. The food and service were good (not excellent). What was disappointing, though, was that unlike the previous year, no birthday candle or song and the whopping $25 corkage fee. There are good restaurants in Napa that do not charge a corkage fee that high...also they could have waved it as a birthday courtesy.
So worth the drive. The cocktails were special. The food was excellent. The service was friendly and very cordial. I can't wait to go back.
Very low key restaurant. Loved the ambiance with all the old photos covering the walls. Felt like a step back in time. Food was excellent, great drinks, excellent staff
I loved everything about this restaurant but my absolute favoritepart was their cocktails. So delicious!
Better than expected
Family Style eating
Will definitely come back
They are always amazing. Food, drinks, and service five stars
Very attentive staff and amazing food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone...
Always a treat to enjoy. Looked forward to their mussels but they ran out. This actually allowed us to try other dishes. The tempur Cod was great. Braised kale and mashed potatoes delicious. Service is always good. Very attentive. All round good evening.
This place is absolutely awesome. The location itself is worth going there a bit earl to experience. It is like time traveling to a parallel aternate universe. The restaurant is in a dilapidated Victorian era building that made me wonder how it was still standing. The interior, however, was stylish exuded a casual elegance from a bygone era. Everything we ate was delicious and perfectly prepared, the service was fantastic. The "pre-prohibition cocktails"and the wine we ordered were excellent. The menu made American Cuisine not an oxymoron. Go! you won't be dissappointed.
Great service and great food, finally going back soon.
Good atmosphere even better cocktails
They serve everything family style... ok for 2 but probably better for 4 or more
Trying too hard with the decor giving the walls a cluttered look and not sure what the big cloud/light thing is above the door.
Very busy with people crowding the doorway. 'Had to stand at the bar while waiting for our reserved table.
Brussels Sprouts starter was too dry, too spicy and too salty. Fried chicken was (too) crispy and blackened in parts. The chicken inside was juicy like it had been marinated or injected. Again, it was too salty and was missing the chili jam or whatever's it was supposed to come with. As they make a big deal of their drinks menu, maybe that explains the saltiness of the food! Mac and cheese was okay, but nothing great. Small "pot de chocolat" dessert thing was presented in a whisky glass and just tasted like a supermarket chocolate pudding. Bus boys constantly lifting plates throughout the meal.
Overall, it has a very limited menu, is overpriced and overrated in my opinion but worth visiting once for the odd location and weird vibe I guess.
Might have enjoyed it more had it been less busy and not had very noisy bikers tearing up and down the street.
This restaurant is one of my favorite for sure. Because it is so different from any other restaurant, we always invite there our friends from out of the aera and are nit familiar with this restaurant. It is a scenic drive there. The menu is small, but there is for something for everybody. We always order the Fried Chicken, which they are famous for rightfully so. It is crispy on the outside and very moist inside. We also ordered the Smoked pork chops. We started with Burrata cheese on toasts and Brussels Sprouts. They were both delicious. The mashed potatoes were out of this world, like homemade style. For Dessert we had the Olive oil cake with Blood Orange sauce. The portions are Family style, so for 4 people you can order 2 entrees and 2 sides and 2 desserts. The service is outstanding. Great classic drinks from prohibition.! Can't wait to go back!
Great food, great ambiance and great drinks!
Thank u all for a wonderful bday with me and my family
Great food and service! One issue we had was the bill. We were charged $42 for an item on the menu which was listed at$27. Also got two orders of the exact same cocktail, one was price at $12 and the other $13. The price was changed after I luckily caught it on the bill.
Food was fantastic as always, service was not as stellar as previous visits. Nothing serious, but it did detract from the overall experience.
Unbelievable find in of all places...Port Costa! Place is has great decor, food is fantastic and the service is impeccable. Very casual atmosphere. I would recommend this place to everyone!
This is one of my favorite restaurants I like the food the atmosphere, to my surprise this past Friday the service was not the best we were seated to share a table with people we did not know and I asked for a table for two which they told me were not available , I walked around the room and most of the tables were empty when I asked the waiter the answer was that it is the system that had the people per table. It is the first time that happens to us this I left very upset with the service, I will return but when I pass the courage because the service on this occasion was not the best.
I was pleasantly surprised that burrata was on the menu, that is my favorite appetizer. Since it was super bowl Sunday the restaurant was not packed. We ordered burrata, pork chops and a pork stew with polenta in the bowl as well as a side of mash potatoes. The portions are enough for two.
Food was delicious as usual and service was better than the last time I was there. It was a great evening.
