Unbelievable find in of all places...Port Costa! Place is has great decor, food is fantastic and the service is impeccable. Very casual atmosphere. I would recommend this place to everyone!
This is one of my favorite restaurants I like the food the atmosphere, to my surprise this past Friday the service was not the best we were seated to share a table with people we did not know and I asked for a table for two which they told me were not available , I walked around the room and most of the tables were empty when I asked the waiter the answer was that it is the system that had the people per table. It is the first time that happens to us this I left very upset with the service, I will return but when I pass the courage because the service on this occasion was not the best.
I was pleasantly surprised that burrata was on the menu, that is my favorite appetizer. Since it was super bowl Sunday the restaurant was not packed. We ordered burrata, pork chops and a pork stew with polenta in the bowl as well as a side of mash potatoes. The portions are enough for two.
Food was delicious as usual and service was better than the last time I was there. It was a great evening.
The flavors of ever dish were well thought out. The chef is talented and amazing
This restaurant never disappoints! I always enjoy my time at Bull Valley Roadhouse!
Great food, Old fashion (1950's) classic character, clever menu, great food. Like stepping into an old town tavern with great food and very cool present day vibe and some fun ambiance.
We went for Sunday brunch. Fabulous!
Basically, it's my favorite restaurant in the SF Bay Area. I drive ~45-minutes to get here. I've even stayed in the connected Hotel, just to be able to have more amazing cocktails. Actually, don't go here, stay away, so that I can enjoy it.
Love, love, love The BVR! This is truly a Bay Area Hidden Gem. Best fried chicken anywhere!
First time here... from being greeted at the front door, all the fine attention to detail during our meal and walking out, this was top notch service! Great location- you'd never guess a restaurant of this caliber being at the end of this "country road!" Food amazing and cooked perfectly to order, staff so attentive, amazing specialty drinks, beautiful building!
Really cool place. Great service. Food was good, maybe not great. Definitely worth trying out. Also, food is family style so everyone got to try a few bites. That was nice.
We attended BVR for a late-ish brunch. Both bacon and Corned Beef & Cabbage Hash were no longer available. The food was enjoyable, but I wouldn't consider it 'oh my god I have to go back' good. Dining area is very tight and noisy. We were sat in a small corner that echoed really loudly any time we conversed, the hostess described it as 'a cute table', we disagreed. The brunch menu is really limited, and doesn't seem to offer anything remotely traditional. The roasted macaroni gratin was the hit of our meal, as well as the Bourbon Bloody Bull.
The food took forever to arrive, and we had to ask the waiter several times for our meal. It was the same for the dessert, the coffee cups came, but we had to ask for the coffee. The food was very very tasty, and maybe they were just short on waiters!
Food was outstanding. Loved the family style!
If I was "forced" to be a meal at a restaurant, I would be the fried chicken at Bull Valley Roadhouse because at least I know people would love me...
I love this place. Have been there three times now and keep going back! Great food, great service, great atmosphere ~ what could be better!
We have dined here three times in past year - always consistent - definitely recommend - we will be back again and again!
The bar makes the best cocktails using handmade ingredients and unusual blends. The restaurant has an unusual choice to go "family style", which is ordering two things from each section of the menu. The food is excellent but somewhat overpriced. $16 for toasted bread and a dip. the pork chop has restored my faith in pork chops as it was unbelievably delicious.
BVRH is the best restaurant in the region! The menu is thoughtful, food is tasty and the ambience takes you away to another era.
Brunch at BVR was fantastic! The food was superb and the creative variations on bloody Mary’s were great. The end of the road feeling of Port Costa make the food, service and setting all the more special.
One of the best restaurants we have been to where everything on the menu is delicious and fresh. The historic restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and the service is always excellent. It’s definitley worth the drive into this quaint tiny town of Port Costa where the restaurant is.
What a hidden gem. Great food, service, friendliness and just an all around great experience.
Wonderful dinner. A lot of fun with 6 of us to share more dishes. The cocktails were outstanding.
Where else can you have Moules/frites with a Fiano?
Awesome Old Fashion style cocktail befote and Bourbon Caramel cake after. PERFECT
Amazing food and great ambiance!
Birthday celebration. The food was fabulous, our waitress was perfect. We ordered family style. We split one delicious Caesar salad, pork chop, the best I have ever had in my life! And local honey over vanilla ice cream with olive oil cake. The evening was one to remember.
The food and service live up to expectations and reviews. It's a favorite for Sunday brunch especially when seated in the patio area. I'm happy to recommend the Bull Valley Roadhouse.
Our server, DiDi(?) was phenomenal. Corinna does an awesome job with those hands. We didn’t get the chance to meet the other chef, but thank him as well for a glorious time out of great food and fun.
Thank you all for taking good care of your Patrons.
The group of 5 who came in on Saturday night!
I love this place!
Prior to our dinner reservation at the Bull Valley Roadhouse, we left Oakland a little early, allowing enough time to meander through historic Crockett and the quaint town of Port Costa. So fun, can’t wait to go back!
This place is for sure off the beaten path, but so worth it. I had wanted to come here for years, but always sort of "forgot about it." We will be back very soon, for sure. The brussel sprouts were out of this world as was the "Mussels with French fries and aioli," which were our starters. I'm not usually a Fried Chicken fan, but this one had me, especially with the biscuits and spicy pepper jam. The favorite around the table was the Risotto with Shrimp, but all in all, everything we ordered was spectacular. I can't wait to return.
Beautiful warm interior
Props to the bartender for letting us know they were running low on our favorite dish and putting in our request with the kitchen before they ran out. Excellent cocktails too!
Excellent bull grog cocktail. Worth the trip for that alone.
We heard so many good things about Bull Valley and decided to book a table for NYE. The first thing I noticed about Bull Valley was their atmosphere and ambiance; it was dimly lit and full of unique decor. The noise level was perfect for a date, or for a group. The food was absolutely wonderful and the drinks were perfect. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Whiskey cocktail and it gained the approval of both myself and my boyfriend ( I usually like mine a little sweeter than he does) but it was the perfect mix. We really enjoyed our experience and we are already planning our next trip! I would highly recommend Bull Valley for a special occasion, or just a night out!
everyone enjoyed the food as usual! we all had a great time.
New Year's Eve bruncj
The chicken and waffles are out of this world!!! 😋
Fun funky location & decor.
Way way over priced!
The food and service as always was excellent. This place is a hidden gem!!!
