The Bull Inn Bisham - Restaurant
Over the last two decades, through his knowledge and experience spanning four decades, Andres has forged a superb reputation based on a successful blend of attentive and precise service with fabulous and articulate cooking. He has succeeded in transforming this Buckinghamshire village into the very heart of France and the illusion is maintained with a beautiful menu and extensive wine list, which features the very finest selections from the house cellar.
The Lopez family welcome you to enjoy a gastronomic experience, representing the finest traditional French and continental flavours, carefully embodied within an intimate and relaxed atmosphere.
Impeccable service, very friendly staff, steak delicious, king prawns bit overpriced
Not the first time we've been. Great staff and very nice food. Will be back surely.
Weekday lunch was a little pricey, however service and attention to detail was first class.
The Bull at Bisham is our venue of choice for special occasions. We dined in the restaurant and as always the food and service were superb.
We also recently dined with friends in the bar for a very relaxed evening with the usual exemplary service and good food.
Great meal after work, faultless service and great food !!
Absolutely love this place - service and food fabulous as always.
Didn't know that this level of hospitality still existed Well Done to All!
Amazing food and service! This is our restaurant of choice for special meals and catching up with good friends!
An amazing experience with such amazing service. The setting is beautiful taking time to have a couple of glasses of champagne in their garden before dinner.
The food was excellent and ensured we left room for the crepe Suzettes which was great to watch as they cook at the table.
I enjoy trying different wines and the wine they recommend suited our Chateaubriand immensely.
Loved everything about the experience and will be definitely going regularly.
This is a very old fashioned bar and restaurant. The bar is still very formal, no casual drinkers, starched napkins and the veg served off a platter. I felt like I’d gone back to the 80’s and half expected Basil Fawlty to appear at any second with profuse apologies for something or other. The menu is extensive to say the least, and the sweet trolley another throwback to days gone by. I kind of wanted lemon meringue or Black Forest gateau but was satisfied after two courses of pate (ok) and stroganoff (fine but nothing special and mustardy rather than paprika). My husband had fried Brie (seemed very out of a box in the freezer) and a chicken Kiev (hello 1985) which definitely seemed homemade and a good garlic flavor. Veggies were well cooked. Staff were very friendly and good natured with our 5 month old. A Spanish family run place it seems. The restaurant has the same menu as the bar but with French names rather than English 😆
Surprisingly busy with couples (older) and extended family groups, some celebrating birthdays etc. seems a popular place that people go back to. Very surprising given Marlow is a further 5minutes down the road...maybe its restaurants are too modern and ‘foodie’ for some. We walked here as were staying in a local B&B and it was easy with the baby, but there are preferable options for us in Marlow.
The service was excellent, great staff. The food was, on the whole, well prepared, ok if you like the 1970’s style of presentation and menu. Reasonably priced comfort food for a certain generation.
The ambience though is a throwback to the dark ages of dining out - decor out of a bric a brac shop, decoration untouched for years - all very old fashioned and an air of grubbiness. Unappealing really, but clearly had some fans in the generally old and repeat clientele - and I am over 60 myself, so can say this! It was like time had frozen or dining out in an folks home.
An excellent restaurant for someone who is looking for a more traditional, old school, eating experience. Definitely not one of your gastro-pubs, The Bull Inn at Bisham is a true silver service restaurant where the quality of the ingredients they offer is of the utmost importance. The waiting staff are also all professionals and their attention to detail is second to none. The Bull Inn also has an extensive wine list which covers all price ranges including, for those with the taste and the money, wines running into the hundreds.
Nothing modern/ trendy about the Bull Inn but our experience of the service and food were excellent. I had snails to start followed by sole poached in white wine and parsley sauce with mussels and prawns. Both excellent and would order again and again, great wine selection and all at good value. The only thing I would change are I would love a big plate of snails as I get when in Europe, the 6 large snails were fantastic but I love snails, more snails please.
Table for four with family, turned out to be a lovely evening with nice service but excellent choice of food and wine and priced for quality and great value. We will be back again soon.
I booked the Bull Inn restaurant for my cousin's 60th Birthday dinner and the atmosphere and lighting were beautifully designed with a warm and cosy feeling. The food was delicious and all courses beautifully presented, the steaks were huge and well tasty. My Dover sole was delicious. Excellent service from Carmen and her staff, nothing was too much trouble, even looking out for the children and making them feel special. My cousin really enjoyed his day and we all said we would definitely go back to celebrate a special occasion or just for a meal in this lovely restaurant. Would recommend this restaurant for any special occasion as you get treated really special. Thank you Carmen and staff once again.
Amazing food. Good price. Great friendliness of the staff. Will be back soon.
This was our second visit recently and we were extremely pleased with the service and food both times. A very pleasant place to spend a special occasion with friends and family or just as a couple.
For a special occasion a great place to go. They make you feel special and you are well look after. Food is great too!
Excellent service and delicious food. Highly recommended.
My favourite restaurant in the area - food excellent, wine excellent, service excellent.
The food and service was absolutely amazing
Food and service up to its usual very high standards. Staff very friendly as always. Nice to be recognised as a returning diner even though we don't go there that often.
Very welcoming, incredible service.
Food very good and not bad value for money.
Would 100% recommend and will be going again
I have been coming to the "Bull" for some 50 years and the service and food has always been superb.
Great service .really good staff very friendly .made to feel welcome
Brilliant, booked straight away to return.
overall a very good meal with good service . Menu had a good range and the portion sizes were right
First class food and outstanding level of service in a most comfortable ambiance.
I love this place. Second time here. Couldn't be made more welcome. I'm always surprised it's not always packed!
When you order a la carte, you can customise your order. E.g. Would you like the asparagus grilled or steamed? How many tiger prawns, and would you like the white wine sauce? We don't have dauphinouise potatoes on the menu but we can do them for you.
It's not cheap but not excessive either. I eat out a lot and this is one of my favourite places. Only grumble is the décor; bit of an unusual mish mash between olde English pub, with traditional French food and some Chinese crockery decorating the windowsills. It's a v minor point though.
The food and service was very good but there was a confusion with my booking. I had requested the restaurant when I booked as it was a special occasion but I was seated in the bar area.
It’s a shame as I didn’t realise until I’d paid my bill and had a look around the venue. The restaurant has a separate bar and is separate from the bar area. There is a lit fireplace which makes it feels cosy and welcoming. The bar area was cold and both my guests had to keep their coats on.
It was very frustrating as we could of had our special meal in the restaurant which would have more suited the occasion.
Please take care when booking as there are two areas - the bar area at the front of the pub and a separate room at the back of the Pub.
Visited for a birthday celebration for my partner. This is a wonderfully traditional french restaurant providing a great experience. You are made to feel special the moment you walk through the the door. Not, just another customer , as with many other restaurants nowadays. Expect to pay £60 per head with wine. Well worth the money.
We haven't visited this restaurant for a while, but it is still first class. The food, service and ambiance are all excellent. Looking forward to our next visit.
This was the third time we had eaten at the Bull. The service and food have always been exceptional. The staff are all very friendly and attentive and remembered us from our previous visit which was some three months ago.
Had Sunday lunch on Sunday 21st October and as usual everything was excellent. Food was great and staff were very attentive as always, making us feel special.
The Bull is a very nice traditional restaurant. The food is classic but beautifully cooked and presented. All the staff and servers are very professional, polite, friendly and very efficient. They know what they are doing and they do it very well.
The atmosphere was relaxed and the service attentive. The food was very traditional portions a good size.
Excellent meals and such a choice. Most of our party of six chose fish- delicious!
Had heard good reports about this venue, but this was beyond all expectations. Attentive staff, extensive menu, huge variety of wines and cocktails. The stuffed mushroom starter was exceptionally prepared, and my wife's section of the dover sole was outstanding. The desert trolley was impossible to ignore, and also include fresh fruit for the less adventurous. Expensive, but worth every penny.
Our favourite restaurant for most occassions. Friendly, good service, quality food. Parking can be a problem depending upon time of meal.
What a lovely place and great find! Bit of a wait at the start as they were so busy but all smoothed over with wine, olives and nuts! We had a nice cosy table for two and an excellent bottle of Rioja! Starters were lovely, prawn/avocado and chicken liver pate but the extensive main selection is the star here and our Steak Diane and Tournedos Rossini were delicious. Added to that, the service is very attentive and friendly. Excellent all round and we'll be back.
