This was our first visit to Bull and Beggar and we loved it! Food was fantastic and the ambiance was excellent. Looking forward to going back soon!
Excellent filet a bit on the high end price wise
Food was okay but not great. Oysters were not cleaned well and had pieces of shell served in them. Cocktails were good. Fries were good. The seelbach cocktail is too sweet and the only one definitely not on point. So far my least favorite dining in Asheville this week following cachina 24, the admiral, curate, Buxton bbq, soviergn remedies, sunset terrace, and buscuit head.
We have gone to Bull & Beggar twice now; first for the Monday night cheeseburger/fries deal, and then for a weeknight dinner. The cocktail menu is outstanding and never have I seen such a long list of Amaros. The wine list is also impressive. However, we found the menu to be rather limited. I opted for a filet, and my husband tried the pheasant, rabbit and pork feet pie, which he found too gamey tasting. There aren't many entrée choices, and many of the small plates seemed more like appetizers or salads to us. I'm sure we'll be back, but we'll stick to Monday nights for the $9.99 special!
Bull and Beggar has been my favorite Resturant for a while. I recently brought a first date and they took excellent care of us. The host was accommodating and sat us in a cozy spot and the food and service were both fantastic. We never felt rushed even when we took a while to order entrees and stayed late. I would highly recommend this as a special spot to anyone.
It was a romantic ambiance ;)
My SO and I came to bull and beggar for a birthday celebration and we had the octopus, the beef Tartare and each got the filet Mignon as well as two signature cocktails. Everything was absolutely delicious and we especially loved the octopus dish, it was cooked to perfection with an amazing sauce. Our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating, she even brought us some lovely macaroons after dinner. I love the ambiance and the style of the restaurant, it was fun to people watch from the second floor as well! Will definitely be back.
Went to celebrate an anniversary with my beau. The service was absurdly wonderful, and the food was creative and delicious.
We went for brunch but all of us ate the burger! it was very good though they really dont want to personalize your burger (they save that for another day in the week their burger day). but it was delicious. we had the bottle of bubbly with unlimited juice which is a good buy for 3 people. It is $30, whereas a mimosa is $10. My husband's bloody mary took a while to be done. The server was attentive.
Great experience with the exception of our server. She was rude and acted too busy to be dealing with us and our questions.
This was our first time at Bull & Beggar. We will be back and will tell friends. Our dinner was delicious and the service was great. We enjoyed the atmosphere.
This is an awesome dining experience! We bring all our out of town guests here to enjoy. You represent our city with your food and drink. LOVE, LOVE it!
The filet was top notch and the sticky toffee pudding was divine. Outstanding service.
All good but , for the money, I would expect larger portions. I left unfilled. However, the food I had was very good.
Food was good, but nothing that blew us away.
Muddy parking lot filled with large holes. Ribeye steak very good....but fried potatoes very poor. The creamer spinach left me wondering how to eat it....better suited for a dip with bread or crackers.
Good try at serving a high level dining experience.....but the location is terrible and food items need more refinement.
Great service, great food, all around great time. A little pricey but totally worth it.
My girlfriend and I came for Valentine's Day and absolutely loved this place.
Good table upstairs.Good drinks. Good food. Good service. One of our favorite places.
Nice place. Menu is limited with just a few options. My cassoulet was very salty though the duck breast was very good.
My boyfriend and I came to Bull and Beggar while we were visiting Asheville. We had a great experience and the food was delicious!
Outstanding food, service and surroundings. Our server Robin was wonderful. Food is the best fresh ingredients, innovative menu
When in Asheville get out of downtown and head here to the best restaurant in Asheville!
We have eaten at The Bull and Beggar on several occasions and the food has always been excellent..the service exceptional..the staff are very knowledgeable and provide a excellent dining experience..this restaurant is by far one of Asheville's best!!
First time here and we were not disappointed. The filet and halibut were wonderful. The service was excellent. The only complaint is the drive into the area is not paved, full of pot holes and on a rainy evening like it was for us, it is a messy muddy walk from the car.
Despite that, we will return in the future...
Great all around. Atmosphere, food, service. Highly recommend.
Expensive and very small portions drafty and cold not a lot
Food was delicious. Severs very polite and worked hard but too few of hem. Resulted in spotty delayed service.
The food was very good but the service was very poor. My husband ordered the raw oysters and I ordered the raw clams. He got his oysters right away my clams didn't come for another 25 minutes. Three different staff came to the table to see how things were and we told them we were waiting for my clams. The waitress came by and her comment was "isn't he a gentleman waiting for you to be served. we still waited. No one apoligized for the delay. My husband express his dissatisfaction to the waitress when she finally brought the oysters and she said she would make it up to us with a complimentary glass of wine. We never received any wine. When my cocktail was empty the waitress took the glass but never asked me if I would another one. She took the glass so fast I didn't even get a chance to ask for another one. The food was very good but the lack of service ruined the whole experience. It was my husbands birthday. At the end of the meal after the waitress brought us our bill she tossed a plate with two cookies and a candle on it and said, "oh we can't forget your birthday." Not a good experience.
We enjoyed our first visit and experience was excellent . We would absolutely return.
Waitress was fantastic. Was our friends first time dining and they loved it. Thanks!
Outstanding filet mignon. Service was solid and the place had a great atmosphere. A somewhat limited food and wine menu, but we found what we wanted. High quality dining!
Awesome. Everything was great! The filet was outstanding.
Loved it ! We were celebrating a special occasion and while the dress code was casual, the food was not casual... it was definitely special. I loved the Cassoulet. We got all of the vegetable dishes and split them amongst 4 people w/ two entrees. It was an excellent decision as we got to try many things in one visit. If I could give my server an extra star, I would. She was perfect - unobtrusive and attentive.
The food was excellent and the service was amazing. This was our first time visiting the restaurant and we will be back!!!
We came to Bull and BEGGAR after numerous recommendations to us. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The hush puppies were overly sweet and tasted more like a funnel cake than a savory side. The grilled octopus was very good, as was my cassoulet. The filet however, their "specialty dish" that they are known for and widely regarded for came out completely burnt to a crisp on the outside and had zero taste (no seasoning). For $30 this is immensely disappointing. While it was medium rare inside, there is no excusing the charred outside. For something that is your specialty, we expected more.
Host was rude said if I did not like my table I could leave I left
Great service. Great food
Really enjoyed this place and will return when in Asheville. Shared some small plates and a really good cheeseburger. Good wine selection. Very different offerings. Enjoyed some of vegatable options and the onion soup was VERY GOOD.
To secret Monday night special double cheeseburger and fry to fine French cuisine, this place doesn’t disappoint. Everyone who hasn’t yet, should check out the Bull and Beggar today.
