The Brown Dog Caf� and Wine Bar is a small neighborhood bistro that offers a cozy place to dine on French cuisine and comfort food. The most striking part of the whole interior of the restaurant is the sheer amount of wine bottles that get used for decoration. They are on the walls, used in art and are even used to construct The Brown Dog's central chandelier, a light fixture made using 12 different bottles. The best part about dining at The Brown Dog is the view. Most of the tables overlook the beautiful Lake Placid, which is particularly picturesque in the summer and springtime. As for its menu, The Brown Dog seres mostly French and French fusion. Some of the more popular items include a lobster bisque, wild mushroom and lavender soup, prosciutto wrapped scallops, veal chop and a duck quesadilla.
