Absolutely sublime food, service and ambience, as ever. You have to go. The globe artichoke main was a stand-out.

The service was brilliant. The starters amazing. Roast beef a bit chewy unfortunately and difficult to cut; probably could’ve done with steak knives….., roast potatoes tasted like they’d been cooked at another time and reheated, which is fine; just tasted a bit odd..yorkshire pudding a bit soft and not crispy at all. It was still very enjoyable, just the main course wasn’t as good as the starters…perhaps because it was very busy

A hidden gem near the theatre We stopped by The Broughton for a pre-theatre dinner and were genuinely delighted by the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly and impressively attentive — striking that perfect balance between professional and relaxed. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The fish and chips were crisp and satisfying, while the sea trout was a real highlight — delicately cooked and paired with thoughtful accompaniments. The wine list was well chosen and our glass of white was particularly delicious, complementing the dishes perfectly. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming and the space itself was spotless — clean, tidy and stylish without being showy. A great find, especially for dinner before a performance. Highly recommended for locals and tourists alike — whether you’re heading out for a date night or simply looking for a quality meal in a relaxed setting.

We are on a 4 week vacation from the US, basically eating our way through Europe. We’ve had many incredible meals, but The Broughton outshined every other culinary experience we had!!! The beautiful, yet still inviting space, and the friendly attentive staff were only outshined by their delicious food. We couldn’t decide what to order, because everything sounded amazing, so we decided to order one of everything & still couldn’t choose a favorite as each bite was perfection. To top everything off we couldn’t believe how affordable it was. I can’t stress enough that the is Restraunt is not to be missed!

Elevated pub food is not an appropriate description. It’s really excellent food in a pub like atmosphere. Friendly but correct service, nice wife list and great cocktails. Easy to reach location. Highly recommended!
