Best pot pie ever. Everything so delicious and so plentiful.
This is a regular stop for my friend every time he comes to NYC. The place is typical New York noisy but the food is hot and good, servings not small plate size and the wait staff is very helpful.
My reservation did not go through at first, once I got into the restaurant my reservation went through. I had to wait a long time before being served. I felt neglected. I used to dine there when I was living up here. Lots of changes I’ve noticed. I enjoyed the food served and would dine again.
Food was delicious and large portions made it possible for three people to share 2 sandwiches and still feel full. Service as always was excellent. Have been going to this place for years and love it, due in no small measure to the expertise of Chris, the general manager. Always a pleasure.
Good meal, wide variety on menu. Large portions. Great location to Times Square.
Great for kids
They advertise the “best hamburger in New York “. I ordered mine cooked medium. I got it well done and it had burnt spots. Milkshakes were outstanding however.
Joe our host was amazing. He was polite and composed despite a very busy breakfast morning. Joe treated all customers with respect and consideration even though the wait for a table was longer than they expected. Well done Joe.
Excellent quality, fine service, reasonable prices for NYC.
Fabulous breakfast, great attentive service, a most pleasant place to dine.
Great location. Good food. Fun atmosphere.
Food was great, service too slow!
The pot roast was amazing!!! The Jewish noodle dish was sweet and delicious.
Place was a little tired feeling and a bit run down. Could use some TLC and improved energy with the staff.
Food was adequate. The waiter goofed up our orders - regular bread instead of request challah omelette and left off toppings from veggie burger. Ate it as was and difficult to find waiter to say anything. Last time here was good, this time, not so. Not sure it they were just "off" or what but was disappointed.
Food and service great! Location excellent. Our table was ready right on time and by the window with view of Times Square!
We really had a great experience here. I recommend the chicken noodle soup. It was excellent. My son had the Mac and cheese and liked it as well. Service with Amanda was top notch. Timing was good as well as we were seeing a show that night. Also the gentleman working the door couldn’t have been any nicer and so.professional.
The restaurant was literally out of Vodka! I also was expecting a more American Diner Fare menu with broader selections (fancy meatloaf, roasted chicken, steaks and chops, etc). The appetizer section was very limited and generally speaking, I was expecting more choice. My dish, Chicken Milanese was terrific, and as a Times Square location it is very convenient. That said, I would probably not go back as having been once, it is enough.
My college aged son and I met in NYC for a day of visiting and a show (a Friday night). In advance, I booked a table at The Brooklyn Diner because I was 2 blocks from our venue. I would DEFINITELY recommend pre-booking a reservation. Several groups came in when we did and had to wait 30+ minutes, while we were immediately seated. Our waiter was super cool, chill, and friendly, but not fake. While the prices in NY are always cause for a little out-of-towner sticker shock, the food was great. I had the Pino Noir that was a heavy pour (thank goodness, it was $15 per glass!!). My son ordered spaghetti and meatballs and later said it was the best he had ever had! I went with the chicken alfredo and WOW, it had an amazing homemade feel to it. Huge noodles, real shredded chicken (not processed chunks), and awesome sauce. We also had calimari for our appetizer which was perfect. It's crowded, busy, and just very "New York" but I'd recommend it before a show anytime. We'll definitely go back.
My husband and I both were very disappointed with our meals. I ordered French toast that was soggy and oozing cold egg in places. For $20, I would at least expect they could execute a proper French toast. My husband ordered eggs and salmon and it was equally disappointing. I would have been happier grabbing something quick at McDonald’s and we would have saved $50.
For such a touristy area, this is a great pick! Really good food & good service!
I ordered the chicken fajitas. The chicken was waaaaay over cooked. The small cup of rice and black beans looked like they had been prepared yesterday and left overnight on the counter.
As awesome as the days before.
When we back in NYC, we’ll definitely come back in the Brooklyn diner.
A lot of fun. Great server, fantastic food, and interesting ambiance. Had a great time!
Love the burgers! Our waiter Keith was so attentive. There was a small issue with our fries & it was tended to immediately with grace.
We are always on the look out for reasonably priced dining when we are in NYC since the shows and lodging usually are expensive. We were very pleased to find Brooklyn Diner, right there on Times Square, yet with reasonably priced, generous portions of brunch cuisine. The best part of the experience was the charming, energetic waitress, Genevieve, who was witty, friendly and attentive. We would go back there just to have the pleasure of seeing her again. We will definitely plan to go back for breakfast, brunch or a late night bite the next time we visit NYC
The food was amazing! We had the salmon Eggs Benedict and the cinnamon French Toast!
Overall, a good meal! Service was not terribly attentive but food came quickly. Noise level was moderate to high. Food was above average and extensive brunch menu.
Busy place, but not enough servers. Our server had five large tables all seated at about the same time. Hence, service was slow. Food ok, but not outstanding. Pricey for what you get.
Great food, excellent service though it was quite crowded. Classic New York deli selections were prefectly prepared.
Excellent food, if you don’t mind the very slow service and high prices.
Pre theater delish. Fast and really hot waiter.
Food was good. Service a bit slow.
Food was really good and menu had variety but wasn't too large. We came here for a pre-show dinner (6pm for a nearby 8pm show) and the timing worked for us. Plan for at least 1.5 hours to order, eat, and pay even if you're just getting an entrée. It's better than cutting it close and getting to your show late! The server was somewhat attentive. We did get water refilled a couple times, but there was a couple times we were looking for him and we couldn't find him. Might have been that it was just so busy on a Saturday night in Times Square.
Service was good and location is great so we went back the next day for brunch. The second time around the quality was the same (food and service) so it's consistent from my perspective. The waitress was attentive when she was around, but we did need to hunt her down a couple times to order additional drinks and get the check.
All in all, would still go back again.
Very nice place and good food and can make a reservation
Not really a negative.but was a surprise how small-compact it was...service was good and meal was excellent. However, I probably would not return due to size and that is just my "thing". Will want to try the other one on 57th, as photo apts larger.
Absolutely Fantastic! Service = Outstanding, Food/Drink = Outstanding.
Great pancakes and I had gluten free bread with my eggs Benedict. It was delicious and the server was so kind to my special needs son. Family rest room made life easier.
I made a reservation on open table, and made a request for a booth. It was ready early! Thank you so much got a wonderful time.
It was our good fortune to stumble across the Brooklyn Diner on Saturday morning the day after our arrival in NYC. It is a VERY busy, typical New York diner. The food was VERY good and the service was excellent. We were pleased enough that we had breakfast there on each of our 3 mornings in the city. On two of those mornings we had Genevieve as our server. She was efficient and attentive and had an enjoyable personality to boot. The other day we had another server who was not quite as attentive. We will definitely make it a place we'll stop whenever we are in the city.
Great food and big portions! Very popular place right on broadway in Times Square as it was packed on Sunday when we were there at 10am. Service was also very good! Definitely on the pricey side for breakfast but to be expected in a tourist location. We would go again and I would recommend it.
