The Brooklyn Diner Times Square
A gracious Maitre'D, hilarious but efficient waitress and the best pastrami sandwich ever made for a great lunch. Don't pass up the cheesecake, the real deal and big enough to share.
Great as always
Had a cheddar cheeseburger. It was delicious. Also try their avocado ranch dip it’s also good.
Great place for Brunch or Lunch.... especially great choice for a place dine that is close to the theaters. The staff is friendly and eager to please. Service is great! The menu has something to please everyone and the food is amazingly good. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Quaint diner with good food
white egg omelet was overcooked, waiter forgot fresh squeezed OJ
The best breakfast and service we had on our NYC visit
The pastrami was rubbery and seemed like it might have been reheated. The waiter just said Oh Sorry. Terrible service for such high prices.
Very disappointing visit. We have been to The Brooklyn Diner on multiple occasions, but this was our last visit. My wife’s matzo ball soup was tasteless and the matzo ball was just terrible. The bagel that came with my omelette was clearly a toasted frozen bagel, also tasteless. The omelette was actually not bad, but there’s no way it can make up for the rest of the meal.
We dined with a long-standing friend visiting from out of town. The host acknowledged our reservation by greeting me by name. The food options appealed to those seeking All-American fare as well as a vegetarian at the table.. The waiter offered coffee refills after we had settled our tab and did not rush us to turn over the table. A fun and iconic New York diner in the theater district. We have also used the 57th Street venue before a performance at Carnegie Hall. Make a reservation and enjoy!
Good place for the neighborhood-I met a friend for brunch and although the price was a bit high (considering no alcohol was included), the food was good, the coffee excellent. The people at reception were superb, but the table service was very slow. It took quite awhile for the orders to be taken.
Happily, not rushed over brunch once served.
Excellent food and service (we had breakfast) although quite expensive
We had a great time and enjoyed the food, especially the cheesecake.
Lots of food per plate, not great given the fact that its located in NYC.
We always go to the Brooklyn Diner when we are in the City. My wife Loves the Pecan butter for her pancakes. NOT THIS TIME> it felt like they sold to new owners or have new chefs. Even the servers had a different attitude while interacting with the customers. Usually very friendly and attentive but no more talk more to themselves. Service was also very slow and when the food did arrive my wife did not get the PECAN BUTTER she had ordered. She Asked again. Then a few minutes later the same Waiter who took her order came and told her they do not make it any more and they haven't for a few months. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. Because now we just had common pancakes and when I saw common I mean not the same fluffy delicious breakfast we used to get. I had the omelet and except the Bacon was somewhat tasteless.
This experience was bad enough for us but we had brought friends in with us and had them to the DINER for breakfast. they did not see and taste all of the great things we had told them about . No... NOT THIS TIME!!!!!
Pre-show gathering for dinner—Brklyn Diner is reliably delicious. Good burgers! Vegetarian friend loved her eggplant dish. Shared yummy coconut cake—worth the calories!
First of all, in no way did this place feel like a diner, particularly one named for Brooklyn. Next, It had a tiny choice of dinner entrees and, incredibly, it was out of the 2 pastrami offerings, the most iconic of diner foods in the New York area. I will admit the eggplant Parmesan was very good, but for the price, it was skimpy, especially because the only side was an all-lettuce ( I swear!!) salad. Disappointing.
We dine at Brooklyn Diner every time we are in the city. Service is always impeccable. Food is delicious. Staff is charming Can’t wait until next time
We were a bit disappointed in our breakfast. One of our meals was cold, the bagel was hard as a rock and the polenta bites were not good. Even the coffee was a bit bitter and unappetizing...Our server was great though! We won’t be visiting again.
A convenient place to grab a hearty meal in the Times Square area. Had great service, a good, generously sized burger prepared to order, a bit lackluster fries (not super crispy), a very nice glass of Malbec, and steaming hot coffee. The cookies displayed on the counter looked large and tasty but, alas, I was full. The prices are Ok by NY standards, and there are counter and table options. I’d go back and try a regular entree next time.
Great place to get a meal pre/post show. Kid friendly menu plus gluten free options.
Went here based on a recommendation from a friend who was there in the evening. We went for breakfast. The food was good. Nothing special, but good. My issues were with cleanliness and service. When we got into the restaurant, the entire place smelled like the bathroom of a bar at 2:00 AM. Almost made me leave, but we stuck it out. Service was not friendly. Like we were imposing on them. Made a reservation, but sure didn't need it. The place was very empty. Found stuck on food on the bottom of my plate as I was moving it after completing my meal. No point in complaining then. We basically ate and got out of there. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend.
Awesome experience! Chicken pot pie was huge and delicious. Can't wait to return to NYC for more.
Fantastic burgers. Just the right size. Recommend reservation for lunch especially ia.ly if you are making a matinee performance of a broadway play. Staff prompt and efficient.
Great place for a quick bite before a show. The food is all well done, love the chicken soup, salads, burgers and hot dogs. The servers are friendly and efficient and get you out in time if you ask. The decor could use a little updating, not looking as fresh as it should, but overall it’s a much better slant on typical diner food and a good choice when you don’t want a big deal dinner.
Took a very long time to receive food. Need to question if sauces are automatically added as not stated .
Best breakfast in town.
New York Diner was very average. We were hoping for a really nice diner with a New York buzz. We could have been in any city in a very average ordinary restaurant with very average food. The service was good. We were in and out of the restaurant in a hour. I will not be back to this diner on any return trips to New York.
Great food in an upscale diner atmosphere. Great service.
Marvelous brunch, but miss the classic eggs benedict...they have other options, but why take off the classic Canadian bacon?!
Not great. Sausages for breakfast tasted old not fresh probably frozen.
Always get the chicken pot pie if you can since they make it on site and the portion is normal sized for a local and large for everyone else.
It was a perfect dinner ! Their burgers are so good and their cheesecake too. The waitress was very kind.
Think to bring a jacket because the air conditioner is high.
Grilled cheese was great. Pricey for sandwiches, but close to theaters so You pay for the convenience.
We were having brunch before we caught our plane home and stopped in here. The menu selections were disappointing and our waitress was overwhelmed with tables though she tried really hard to be attentive.
My wife said here burger was good but I had some chicken sausage that was very disappointing. I realize we were on Broadway, but the price we were charged for what was received was not good value.
The Brooklyn Diner was absolutely delicious. The service was okay, but they were very busy so it was understandable. If you would like to eat at this restaurant, always make a reservation because they get very busy.
Great service, but incredibly overpriced for the meh quality of the food. I expect to pay higher prices in Times Square, but this was pretty ridiculous.
The food was good! It was a little noisy due to an issue with the air conditioner, but the service was still decent.
The burgers were very good and priced at what you'd expect for Manhatten. The service was absolutely the worst we've ever experienced, from start to finish. The sad thing was our server kept acknowledging her poor performance and apologizing, but then joking about her poor performance and laughing about it. One thing she did get right--we were not amused.
We arrived at 155 W 43rd St on time from Grand Central Station, a pleasant walk. We were seated in a section where the air conditioning was NOT working. Believed it would be returned to working order in a matter of minutes according to our waitperson. We should have walked out at this point. A drink of cranberry with Vodka took over a half-hour. The food: one order of poached eggs - could hardly cut through the muffin beneath the eggs! The other order: a no big deal overpriced hamburger. Therefore, would not ever return here or recommend to others. Service and Food were way below expected Website offering. Had we been more assertive we would have insisted on being seated in the air conditioning side!!! Money not well spent 8/03/2019.
