Food and service for dinner were not very good. Server was friendly and did her best to help, but was spread far too thin. Also completely packed and couldn’t hear any conversation. Good for a loud/late drinking night out, but not a meal.
This is not the place for having a conversation and the service was disappointing at best. We didn't stay long. Be forewarned that "energetic" as a noise level descriptor really means "loud".
Went for the Bloody Mary bar which was great, as advertised. The food was mediocre and the scene was a bit more recent college grad than I'd expected/hoped. Service was slow.
Favorite restaurant in San Francisco
The Brixton would be a good place to grab drinks with friends. I would not recommend The Brixton as a restaurant. Their menu is very limited and their food is mediocre at best. I was in group of nine and we all got something different. The only thing anyone liked was the clam chowder. The service was very slow and inattentive. It took over an hour to get our food and it was not busy. Skip The Brixton if you are looking for food or wine selection. Their cocktails are good though.
The music was so loud! I could barely hear anyone talk. Our server was really lazy. He says he doesn’t usually work brunch, which is no excuse. The food was pretty good. Not sure if I would go back.
The fried chicken Benedict is sublime! Add a mix your own Bloody Mary, and it's unbeatable brunch yumminess!
Food was good and service was excellent
I come here for a lunch with a colleague and it’s always solid. The drinks are great and the food is very tasty. I haven’t been here for dinner but I’m sure it would also be a great place with friends and family.
Music and chatter was so loud we could not carry on a conversation in our booth. Also, the menu on their website was not available so they did not have the food options we went there for. Very few choices for non-meat eaters.
We like the food a lot, but it took forever to get. Appetizers came at same time as meals and one of our orders was wrong and it took another 20 minutes to come out. Server seemed preoccupied with the BAR. Kids meals were great, lots of food and fantastic. Was a little shocked that an automatic 20% was added to the check for 6 people(including 2 kids).
This is a sports bar, in an expansive space. People come for the cheap bar food at happy hour. They have one or two people who take your order, never to be seen again. It took about 20 minutes for our waiter to show up, and 40 minutes for a flatbread pizza to arrive. The pizza was clearly made from frozen, and was disgusting. They leave the front door open and allow cigarette smoke to billow in and fill the place. The people who work there clearly could care less about service; they spend all of their time talking to each other and are on their phones. They have a food runner who delivered our dessert with no utensils, and then disappeared. They need a manager on site, but this won’t improve the food quality. It’s the place to go for salty, greasy, previously frozen bar food and to breathe in cigarette smoke.
The Brixton was ok. Our table was in an awkward section of half booths next to the bar with someone constantly standing behind my seat. They also didn’t check me in off Opentable and did not give me my reservation points. Very disappointing. Bathrooms were dirty and out of toilet paper.
Bread toast dry & bad. When you stress 2 times NO onions on 2 separate items & they both have onions...that’s a kitchen problem!!
Prices high for what you get.
Went here for a big group dinner! Was really fun -good drinks and service. Food is nothing amazing but pretty good!
Great spot for Sunday brunch. Casual and the sports games are on.
Pleasing decor, but slow And lackadaisical service from ill-informed waiter. Prime rib was well-priced and tasty, but the rest sorta left an overall negative impression.
I was really disappointed. I try not to leave bad reviews but this place deserved it. Our waitress came to our table three times the whole time we were there. Food came out cold and missing items but she would never know since she didn't come back. They seemed irritated about everything, even us asking for water. We came for a friends birthday and they didn't have the one thing on the menu she wanted to eat which was unfortunate but the waitress said she wasn't sure/would double check. Didn't come back at all. When I talk about missing items I mean basic things. I ordered a scramble, it had no cheese. My toast was cold, came with no butter or jam. Super disappointing and bland. Especially for the price.
Didn't open on time
The crowd was young, drunk and loud so not our scene. Service was not knowledgable at all and though she was sweet her lack of experience showed. The food was not great - devilled eggs were good but the slaw was bitter. Caesar salad was waaay over dressed and the dressing lacked acidity. My husband had the prime rib Sunday special and it was served over cooked and literally swimming in a bath of what I think was supposed to be au jus but instead looked and tasted like beef broth. Strangest presentation ever. The gratin potatoes were delish though.
I had the snapper over risotto and it the fish was way over seasoned.
Cocktails were same old. Nothing extraordinary.
We passed on dessert because the meal wasn't good.
